Software Company DigitalOcean reviews
27As part of the "Hacktoberfest" event they encouraged people to spam open source projects with millions of useless pull requests, in exchange for a T-shirt.
What is all that funding for? I had to rescue 3 different clients from this company's terrible vps services in the last 2 years, all because their esoteric, inexperienced and useless web developers insisted they host their business apps and sites there. No phone support, template replies, insisting that it's the customer's fault. Forget these guys, there are thousands of vps providers in the market; our own local provider provides SSD vps and moved the sites out with 10 times system expertise than this "reputable" provider. Just happy to be done with them.
What can I say they are terrible. I set up an account with them and had my username and password never changed my password ever, now I cannot log in to my account. I followed all of their steps to change my password and still cannot get in to my account. I was sent an e-mail saying that my password was reset successfully yet I still cannot get in to my account. Then I tried calling their customer support and no one answered the phone. All I wanted to do was make one small change to update my billing information and now I spent 2 hours with no result after paying them 20.00 a month every month for the last 2 years. If you need server hosting for your website do yourself a favor and find a different service provider because their "service" does not exist.
The reason they rate poorly is because they only provide vps that is useful for hosting codes for programmers and developers. They are not web hosting friendly or business friendly, so if you are dumped by your developer, or just not a very good developer in the firat place, you will have a lot of problems. They do not properly support email server ports and phone support is null. This is not a good mission critical option for a robust web site.
I cannot say enough bad things about this company, Avoid Digital Ocean, Yuck! Ewww! Nasty are too kind
Someone tried to hack into my Microsoft account from here. Wow, just BS. What is really going on at this location?
Zero support and tools to keep my business online. They don't deserve custom. The Ryanair of Webhosting - your server might fly but it's a no thrills painful journey of self support without the tools. No warnings if your site goes offline. Learned the hard way, pay the same amount per month for a managed server.
Trying to get in touch with support without an account is impossible. We had closed our account and are still getting billed. No number to call or email that works.
Fantastic sever company and the best competitor to AWS - with a 10 x better user interface and much better organized community support. They used to have awful customer support, but as of recently, support emails have been answered much faster
SPAM HOSTERS BEWARE; continue to get spam every single day from ip addresses mapped to this company and they don't care.
I don`t know about it. But i know, but from ip what stands on this provider was hacked my steam account. Be careful. (1 star because don`t know about this provider)
These guys have made two attempts to access my fb page. I traced back the ip address which pulled up this company.
Well, at least someone responded.
"My apologies. This email was sent to junk for some reason.
Please go to this link and select "Forgot Password". (LINK DOESN'T WORK / METHOD ALREADY DISCUSSED BEFORE AND FAILED)
Otherwise, there is nothing I can do to help, as I do not have access.
Sincerely, (their customer success manager) "
Wow, sales staff respond, support staff don't. Great business model!
Visa has to reverse charges now.
They enable my droplet, I don't have access to my server, support doesn't answering, my website is down, I'm loosing my clients. Stay away from them!
I filed a copyright complaint with DigitalOcean, since one of its customers was blatantly re-publishing content of mine, with no attribution or permission. I was told almost five weeks ago that they would investigate and respond accordingly. Still no response. Trying to call their office - no switchboard; just voicemail. I get the sense that they prefer evasion and deflection as the response to problems, rather than providing solutions.
Over $1000 worth of fraudulent charges issued to my credit card. I do not and have never had have an account with them! There seems to be no way to reach anyone unless I make an account. Messages left have proven fruitless. If this is in any way a reflection of how the business is run, avoid them!
Digital Ocean is a known supporter of spam. Notorious criminal operations use companies like Digital Ocean to send spam, provide link redirection, and host scam product sites that feed credit card info to Eastern European criminal cartels. They do not police their servers, and turn a blind eye to these criminal operations. Beware.
Went there for a meetup. We were only able to see the open space. Looked good. Good hospitality.
Our firm's website has been down for quite some time now, and we can't get a hold of anyone at DigitalOcean. We're loosing orders by the minute, and not a single person will acknowledge our request.
Terrible. I try to login for the first time using username: root, and the password they sent me via email and it says access denied. So I reset the password and it still says access denied. I cant even access the server so I call customer support and they only answer questions by email! How convenient! So the problem will never be solved. Waste of my time. Never renting a server from this company ever again.
