Diner, Brooklyn NY

Great spot near the Williamsburg bridge. The menu changes often so they write it in pen on the table. Been coming here for years and it’s stayed consistently good!

My mocktail was amazing. Came here for brunch after several people recommended the place. We ordered the French toast- it was below average, a burger that was very greasy and the fries extremely salty, and an egg sandwich. The sandwich was delicious but I don't think I will return.

The Caesar salad here is the best I've found in the city. Beware it's spicy and garlicky so don't go breathing on anyone afterwards lol but it's so good.

The restaurant is expensive if you don't eat the burger. Ex. Chicken sandwich was $10 more than the burger.

Great food, awesome service, and super friendly staff! If you are in Brooklyn, you must visit this place. Don't forget to order the delicious Olive Oil cake. Thank me later!

If there was a 4.5 option I would give it.

The atmospheres is amazing and feels like you've stepped into a time machine. The staff are all very friendly and the food is certainly high quality. The burger does live up to its rep in my opinion.

HOWEVER, our food took almost an hour to come out. The bar staff was thankfully empathetic and gave us some free drinks while we waited, but it was an unfortunate asterisk to an otherwise great experience.

You may find yourself lost in South Williamsburg on a weekday - wrong stop on the NYC ferry.perhaps though it was kismet - a quick Google search leads you to Diner at 2 pm. It might be the weird hour when lunch is almost over - and there are maybe just ten items on the menu - but fear not! You might order almost every item and then realize - eep! Portions are generous and you are only one of three people dining at the table - but they put so much care in everything they serve.the curry kielbasa plate includes a lovely pickled green salad with red cabbage, the chicken liver mousse is smooth and luscious, the caesar, doused in a delicious sour creamy dressing, is perfectly balanced with crunchy layers of green lettuce and radicchio.you will savor every bite of the fried fish sandwich, with its crispy thin batter housing tender white meat. Tempted by the brunch offering of French toast with apple compote, you succumb, and delight in the textural interplay of the fried corner sections and the sweet chewy center, topped with delicious fruit.get an espresso martini or a wine recommendation from your very friendly server and stay awhile.

Way too expensive for what it is. Fancy place though.
People behind us were absolutly shouting for an hour, no one from the staff had the willingness to ask them to lower their voices despite we asked.

My wife and I love this restaurant we live near it the food is delicious the other day we shared the lamb It was a little too big for just one person we had it with some delicious fries and a nice cold beer love the food here.

I've been going to Diner for 20 years. I have to say I'm a little let down by my experience last night. The service was excellent, but i had the burger. It was just not the Diner experience I go there for. I wanted to try something special and the menu was very set and conventional. I like ordering their unique seasonal small plates and they just weren't on offer last night. Just feels less special.

Probably the worst burger I have ever had. Almost $30 if you add bacon. The bacon was like leather. The burger tasted stale. Ordered medium and was over cooked. Had to drench with condiments to eat. Fries looked like left overs. No redeeming quality.

The staff was incredibly friendly and you get a huge amount of food. This place is also LGBTQ+-friendly which makes it even better.

The diner itself is gorgeous and the ambiance is lovely. I would definitely recommend having lunch here if you’re in the area!

Whenever I'm in Brooklyn I try to eat at Diner the food is always great. It looks like a diner but don't expect diner food. The food is great.

Unfortunately, not too impressed by Diner. Will be open to go again.

The caesar salad has a very strong fish taste, that cannot be removed since it's part of the sauce. Also, the inside of the venue seems a bit beat up; renovations could go a long way.

I don't think I got the best first impression, as the cocktails may be the key to the restaurant also. Will visit again.
