Dirty Taco + Tequila, Wantagh NY

My husband and I finally went here tonight and had some of the best tacos - buffalo shrimp and Vietnamese shrimp with a side of sweet plantains and an apple/cinnamon/Tequila martini. They were packed inside so we ate outside even though it was a little chilly. Our waitress was attentive and another person also came to check on us, just not sure if she was an owner or manager. So glad we're only 5 minutes away because this is now our new taco home! Pretty sure we'll be back again and again and again.

Update: Ok so Google won't let me write a new review so I'll expand on this one. We returned today, a week after my first review above making this our 3rd visit within a week. These tacos are like chef tacos and the best tacos you've ever tasted. Period. The wild variety of tacos dominate their menu. Korinne (I hope I spelled her name right!) is an excellent hostess with a beautiful aura.and she has "boss" vibes and you can see she really wants the customers to have the best experience possible. Our waiter was also attentive and on point. This place has very positive energy and we always leave feeling like we've just been to a party with good vibes, whether we sit outside or indoors. Sometimes my clients ask me to recommended a local place to eat. It's Dirty Taco +Tequila, before they can even finish the sentence. Thank you so much, Korinne!

Since finding Dirty Taco in the beginning of this month, I have been there now 5 times with different groups and I have never been disappointed. The staff is excellent, super attentive and extremely helpful, the food is amazing and the cocktails are top notch.

Server was great, polite, knowledgeable and answered all out questions. The tacos selection was great, tons to choose from. I had the Birria and Carne asada and both were absolutely delicious. Also had the sweet plantains, Mexican street corn, and the street corn fries and those were delicious as well

Something has definitely changed in the kitchen, the calamari and baja tacos are different this time. Calamari is tough and rubbery, slaw on taco is very chunky, everything used to be finer now sloppy.were also here 3 weeks ago, the waiter and bartender simply refused to put the baseball game on.tonight again the waitress had the order wrong and when we pointed out the receipt was incorrect she had a pretty bad attitude.don't think we'll come back again, had given them another chance, service is still bad and food is worse than last time.

Everytime I pass this place its busy.now i understand why. The tacos were absolutely amazing! There was a half hour wait but it was well worth it. The Porky belly taco was and the Vietnamese shrimp taco was good too. The only thing they need is frozen drinks on the menu but that's my personal preference on a hot day. I will definitely be back.

Great food with unique combos - like calimari tacos! Everything was full of flavor. Staff was very friendly. Gina waited on us and she was great! We even had a few jokes about our names being pronounced the same way. Will definitely go there again

Dirty Taco is a great place to enjoy your drinks as well as vibe with your friends! The Mexican fries have a great flavor and taste so good with their signature hot sauce.

The guacamole was little bit of a let down but the tacos really were made to perfection. Tried the Baja, the Kung pao chicken and the buffalo shrimp. My favorite was the classic Baja and I highly recommend it.

Dirty taco is my go to spot. I've been here with many of my friends and family and never been disappointed. Ever since I found out the place and having their NFT is awesome with the discounts and free margarita to start. Wantang location is always popping and busy. Love their vegan tacos. Amazing margarita, must try

Came to the dirty taco in wantagh for the first time and I’m beyond impressed fast service very friendly staff and amazing food and drinks. Very clean and overall a great experience highly recommend definitely will be coming back thank u dirty taco!

It was our first time and we loved the tacos. The Birria tacos are to die for! Service is great! Nina and Kerran, 2 servers, who came out and surprised us with Dirty shots and churros dessert, because it was our first time eating here, were so nice! For taco overs out there, this is the place to have them!

Came around 1pm and there was no wait. We sat outside which was great however the sun was brutal. Umbrellas did not cover the table. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. Food came out fast and fresh. Everything was flavorful and filling. Great vegetarian options. Only gripe is it’s a bit pricey per taco but the tacos are filled to the max. They charge extra if you use credit card. I would come back here more often if they had better parking and was larger. A year ago it looked like they were going to move across the street to a much larger place which we were excited about but that didn’t pan out I heard.

Great food- Asian nachos are next level. They don't have it on the menu, but you can order chicken satay- do it, it's good.

Don't order the house marg. Order the skinny- same price without the sour mix, and a much better authentic and potent margarita.

Food was really good. Our server Lisa was very Nice. The appetizers and the food were served very quickly. There was just a bit of a wait to be seated. It was well worth the wait. The guy seating people was really nice as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food and drinks are amazing here! This place never disappoints. Our server Pete was great! However, they need to do something about the foot traffic between inside and outside. We were freezing the whole time we were here! The door kept closing and opening and it was miserable. We asked if they can close the door and the manager rolled his eyes and didn’t close the door. Very rude. No one should be freezing when they’re trying to enjoy their meal. I’m disappointed about this, but will be back when it is warmer out!

Great staff! It's a busy place so if your in a rush order and pick it up. Those with a little patience can expect great service, delicious food with a menu that has something for everyone even our vegan child. It is a tequila based bar which I loved extra and some mexican beer. They have all your favorite margaritas. I recommend the craft versions, or just a spicy one. Share share and share. The portions are good and decent in size. Just do me a favor & save room for the Italian cannoli nachos. You will love me for that tip.

Unfortunately the food was good but the service was super bad the food came out in a matter of four minutes they wanted to take us out super fast we weren't there even for 40 minutes and they already wanted us to leave so they could seat other people they didn't bring us the drink they took us the tacos that were not they brought us another food from another table the waitress walked with our dessert to another table what I saw is that they want to make a quick buck and they really don't care about customer service.

Dave, the manger is OUTSTANDING! He is super personable and runs the restaurant very well! G, the hostess, is just a gem! She greets you with a smile and her energy just adds to a great night! Stefano is our favorite waiter! The food and drinks are always on point! Super affordable and Foodie Card friendly! Great for any and all occasions!

Good was great, drinks were also great. Service was outstanding, knowledgeable servers and there suggestions were on point. Owner was speaking with us and compd a few things just because we got here pretty early.

Super busy on a Friday, had about a 50 minute wait for a table around 9 pm. Service was great though including the guys running the door and the front of house staff. Food is a bit pricey ($5-6 per single taco, with two tortillas) for the portions but was good. The chips were great. Wasn't a total fan of their queso but the salsa was amazing.

This place is my go to. It's always so good to eat here I usually got to rvc but decided to try this one I was in the neighborhood and I must say top notch. Good food environment drinks music tacos everything so much fun
