Distrikt Hotel New York City, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

A solid performer and I’d definitely stay again.

The pros
-newer and well maintained
-decent quality of finishes in room
-easy check in
-well equipped room, everything worked
-excellent water pressure with great shower height
-good elevators
-plenty of charging ports
-quiet (I had a back of hotel room)
-great internet
-you get credit for your destination fee to purchase snacks, drinks or breakfast

Cons
-it’s just across the street from the bus station and adjacent to several other hotels so the street is crowded and sketchy late hours
-poor lighting… if you’re older like me you’ll have problems seeing
-shower was scalding hot so don’t just jump in
-limited dining nearby other than fast food

I haven’t even stepped foot in this place yet and I’m already trying to cancel. I called 9-21-2023 the front desk guy or whoever was on the phone was extremely rude and disrespectful. A colleague of mine warned me about the front desk staff here in the evening (I called at 10pm) and they’re disgusting. I’m going to see if my bank can cancel this reservation. This is a definite sign of what’s to come. I’ll pass.

I was here on a vacation day burning a hilton Amex free stay. I could have stayed anywhere in the city. I am disappointed. This is a Hampton Inn with a fancy name. The breakfast is disgraceful. There was a line like we were at a soup kitchen and there are like 4 items on the menu. This property doesn't meet the standard of being a Tapestry Collection. This should be branded as a Hampton Inn. The "restaurant" slash bar is dirty and feels like a subway terminal. I'm disappointed and this night was FREE! If I would have paid the $300 for this room I would feel ripped off. Do not waste your money on branding and stay somewhere else.

$374 for a room without a working AC. It is midnight and I am too exhausted to try and find another hotel, and they have no other rooms. Unbelievable. (Update: In the AM the manager on duty when I checked out wanted to try and work out a better experience and made sure to find me a room with better amenities and a working AC. They delivered and I revised my review to reflect this).

Ajahni, at the front desk, was breathtakingly condescending and hateful. He seemed to bask in the knowledge that no matter how viciously he treated you, he would suffer no consequences. His fellow staff did not care. I was disgusted as a guest and saddened as a human being.

There reviews here are generally correct. The headboard had the previous occupants bodily fluids on it and there was hair all over the bathroom. When asked to clean it, they ever showed. We were credited 50% of the stay but I would have rather paid full price and had a clean room.

Not such a safe area to be in at night or even daytime. Not worth the price they charge. No view. They also charged us a late check out fee of $100 for 30 minutes extra.

A suitable hotel if you'd like to be near Times Square and theaters. The room was in good shape and decent sized. Bathroom was nice.

View was of a brick wall but that didn't matter to me.

Restaurant and bar on-site and the "resort fee" they charge gives you credit for food and drink.

Staff seemed alert and responsive. Was able to leave a bag on check-out day. Elevators were slow.

Friendly helpful staff. Great location. Our room was clean and quite large by Manhattan standards. I would stay here again.

Upon arrival the hotel seemed small and not as fancy as you would think, but once you enter the staff made everything exceed expectation. When you first walk in you are greeted by a friendly face with a smile. Check in was quick and we were given an upgrade without even asking. I don't recall the woman's name but she was so friendly and went above and beyond to explain the "resort fees" and the credits that we had available to us. There were also a few men that were there that provided help when needed and would ask my husband and I if we needed any help with our bags or needed help getting to a specific location in NYC. They also came out of the hotel when I was being approached by a transient on the street to make sure that I was safe and not being bothered. (This wasn't a usual thing as the area was safe) They were professional and very helpful. The room was well sized for a NYC hotel room and the bed and linen were very nice. The bathroom was nice but the shower door sounded like it was going to break every time we opened and closed it. When we asked for extra towels and for our trash to be taken out they sent someone up immediately and the gentleman came in emptied the trash and gave us more than enough towels to get us through to the next day when we were checking out. The bartenders were friendly and nice as well. The location was great because it is right next to the port authority and it was easy to grab a subway or bus to get anywhere. There is also a taxi stop right up the street which made it nice when getting a ride to the airport. We will definitely be back! A huge thank you to the staff that made our stay so wonderful and made us feel like royalty.

Wonderful staff! They go above and beyond to help and make your stay wonderful. The rooms are nice and the bed is so comfortable. The only thing that I would suggest would to upgrade the toilet paper. It’s really thin and rough.

When ordering, it was indicated that the room has a microwave and a kettle, but there was none. After the request, they put a kettle in the room for us, but they did not provide more than one glass.

Paid as a 4 stars Hotel, the service is at a motel level!
No housekeeping if you don't require every day (cost saving but not reducing prices).
AWFUL location, near the bus station in Manhattan, you can sleep only over the 20th floor. Never reserve and come here!
