Don Peppe reviews
11Always perfect! This has been my family’s favorite spot since I was a child. I take everyone who hasn’t been here, here! It’s the absolute best. You will NEVER find better linguini and white clam sauce, anywhere. House red wine is also amazing & the baked clams are literally exquisite. Don Peppe is a MUST!
The only positive thing about this restaurant is the food. My fiancé and me had baked clams, the veal Don Pepe and linguine red clam sauce. All of them were amazing! Very tasty. However the service is terrible. The waiter who served our table had cero empathy. Whenever he cleaned our table, never asked if we were enjoying the food or if we wanted to order anything else. He always spoke to us in a rude way. Besides whenever he was resetting the table, touched our silverware from the side customers eat. By the way, the silverware was dirty. It seems like they don’t polish the silverware properly. And all the servers are chatting with their phones on the floor or take a sit as another customer. High prices for the low quality of the service. I recommend people order by phone and take your order to go because food is really good.
The food is amazing authentic Italiano 100%and the staff are very welcoming and the environment feels just so beautiful
This is the real deal for New York Italian food, remember to bring cash and a couple of friends because the portions are intended for 2-4 and you should try a bit of everything! Especially the Scarpiello
Safe to say I wouldn’t go back nor recommend this place. It’s cash only and very traditional Italian, I was not allowed to go in with my hat on. The staff seemed angry and the food was trash. Tasted like a can of Chef Boyardee. What a waste of time and money.
We love this place and dine in often. Delicious food and good service. On our last visit, few minutes after paid our check, the owner of the restaurant came our table and reminded us that people are waiting on line. He kindly meant we should leave now. It was very rude and unacceptable! This is a restaurant you pay around $100 a person!
As matter of fact, there was only a couple who was waiting on line.
Because of that I am giving only one star.
New York has a rich history of American-Italian restaurants that have been around for about 100 years and are distinctively mediocre.
This is not one of those places.

Want to give a shoutout to Alex, who served us tonight. His service was absolutely outstanding and we really appreciated it. Also, the linguine with clam sauce is simply amazing! We've always had outstanding service here and it's great for groups. The family-style dining adds to the wonderful experience. Thank you for consistently providing excellent service!
Best white clam sauce in the city. And the veal Don peppe was outstanding. Everything great including the Dolce platter! We ate Giambotte (family style). I've been coming here for years. I wouldn't keep coming if it wasn't good
Best. Italian. Food. Ever. End of story. Family sized portions. Always a to-go bag. Yum, yum, yum. Can't wait to make the 2 hour trip again.
Old world Italian at its best. I've been going here since 1987 and it never disappoints.
