Dortoni East Norwich (Formerly La Bonne)

I am so excited to be working with Angela at Dortoni’s Bakery in East Norwhich for our wedding this upcoming September. She has been so kind and easy to work with. The delicious cake tastings she made us were the best, and we try a couple other bakeries! I am extra excited for the wild berries in Chantilly. So worth it! Thank you Angela for all your help and for dealing with an indecisive bride like me! ️

Every experience I've had at Dortoni's of East Norwich has been a positive one. The staff is always courteous and very friendly greeting every customer with a welcoming smile. There is always a wide variety of breads, cakes, pastries and delectable treats available. Everything is always fresh and delicious. The specialty cakes I've ordered from there have been greeted with oohs and aahs. I highly recommend them for all your baked goods!

I have been a patron of D'Ortoni East Norwich and Levittown for several years and they have never disappointed with their quality and creations. For my wedding, there was no exception. I have never worked with a wedding cake designer before, and I cannot imagine anyone comparing to Angela. Angela, the WONDER of a woman behind the creation of the wedding cakes is absolutely amazing. I have not met her in person yet, but I already adore her for her professionalism and patience. She is so responsive via text message and provides her honest recommendations on how to best bring your wedding cake vision to life. She deterred me from some ideas that I thought would be unique (like having a navy wedding cake), because she told me that the coloring would transfer to the guest's teeth! I am evidently NOT a wedding cake professional. Angela has made this entire process the most seamless and enjoyable. Thank you SO much, Angela!

Angela at Le Bonne Boulangerie is amazing! I booked my wedding cake with them and paid, but then covid hit right in time to cancel the wedding. We ended up having a very small wedding, but since we paid for this awesome cake, we decided to get it. I told her my likes, the colors and flavors we wanted, and then I asked her to be creative and make something fun. She was excited to have some free reign, and as a bride with a very loose vision, I was thrilled to give it to her. The result was the most fun, amazing cake I have ever seen! She even topped it with a custom cookie. She went all out, and there is no way I could have come up with something so cool. I absolutely would use this bakery again!

Used to be incomparable years ago. Their Milky Way cake was exceptional, now it’s like a regular chocolate cake (I’ve tried a few times in hopes I was wrong). Service & options are still good though.

How am I still on hold? I was hung up on 5 times, I've been on hold for 12 mins. This place used to be great but their customer service skills are seriously lacking! And the products are mediocre

Today I bought two small canolies.why your people put two canolies on the scale with the box and charge $5.25. The box is heavier than two canolies. I do not want pay for box.it is a shame
any inspector will give you a penalties.

The Best place for Best desserts and sweetest people to help you. Ask for Maggie or Angela.my family and I been going there for years and these girls Go Out of the way to help everyone.

RUDE RUDE RUDE, UNETHICAL AND MAKE THEIR OWN RULES & PRICES to the other locations.

Have been a customer of the main location for years, ordering many custom extravagant cakes. They charge double the price at East Norwich location and the staff is beyond rude to the point the designer and manager won’t even come out of the back to talk to you or pick up your phone call.

Then my entire family got covid I had to cancel my party, I called 2 days in advanced of the pick up to cancel and they get on phone and tell me it has to be 24 hours in advanced for a cancellation and they won’t refund me. Arguing and screaming at me. Stupid & rude!

Have gone to this location now multiple times and have the same horrible experience every time even just getting cookies.

Went to Levittown yesterday and the experience was totally enjoyable… very sad that this location is ruining what was a very good brand.

Chocolate Mousse cake was wonderful. Don't however like the new layout of the store and name change.

Prettiest and most delicious cakes.if they don't drop it. They dropped my cakes twice!
Update: . It's now Dortonis bakery. The black and white cookies and all white cookie are outstanding delicious icing on top and very moist chewy cookie. I also purchased a whoopie pie as those are my husband's favorites. They were very tender and moist but quite flavorless. The cream filling was not sweet at all. The cookie was soft but I didn't know if it was chocolate or vanilla or what flavor.everything else we had was delicious just not the whoopie pie.hopefully they will improve this.

Use go get birthday cakes here for the entire family went there last week to get a birthday cake for me and I was really disappointed I could not believe it that the cake was like that da Cake had more filling than cake had some days already was not fresh.
My recommendation is don’t go there.

Since conversion to Dortonis; downhill. Have tried 3 separate occasions over last month.
Pastry too sweet, lack tatse looked great tasted unacceptable. Pinioli cookies over cooked, st Jospeh’s pastry was expiring ; rainbow cookies not what used to be. Very disatisifed only use this establishment if it’s an emergency.

Used to live right across th street and loved their Irish Soda Bread.tried it twice now with new owners and its absolutely awful ND so are th danish.what a shame!

Always great customer service by gals in store - great bakery - you pay for what you get, but terrific selection

Cakes always looked better than they tasted. Now they switched to the possibly PARENT company and it is worse than ever. They HAD great onion buns. We all loved them, and the baguettes. As of today, the onion buns were inedible. They looked different. I lathered mine with French butter as soon as I got home. They were inedible. They tasted like chalk and I spit it out. Well, another one bites the dust.

Great pastries and breads. Not a lot of parking, but it's a small strip mall. Clean store and lovely display cases. We really like the red velvet cake, black and whites and the Italian cookies.
Some staff could be a little more enthused and friendly.
We will continue to be customers, thanks.

Kinda the only game in town. Ok baked goods. Pricey and the staff are not exactly cordial.
