Double Zero reviews
17Some of the best pizza in the city, and that’s coming from a non-vegan. The food is always tasty and the atmosphere is always warm. Definitely recommend.
Gluten free crust was great years ago but very bad today. Felt uncooked. Maybe a gluten free toaster oven would be a good option if the sheet pan doesn’t get hot enough? Maybe for gluten free, a pasta would be better?
Chocolate cake was kinda dry but the vegan ice cream that came with it was amazing. Service was
The food was excellent! Loved all the options for allergens. Unfortunately this was the worst service I have ever had in New York City. We are a group of people also in the industry and were simply appalled. Since we have souls and hearts we were nothing but kind and (even though it was included) tipped 20% and would have regardless because we like to give anyone the benefit of the doubt but wow. First off we had no greeting just a "are you guys ready to order" next a wine was forgotten and when we reminded we got an "oh okay" not even a slight apology. We were waiting to hear back about a specific cheese for a pine nut allergy and the food arrived without ever giving us an answer. We had to ask to clarify which type of cheese was ordered. We never got asked if everything was okay, no quality check. We wanted to order a full nother round of wine and never got asked. I spoke to a man after and let him know our server was very bad to which I was met with more passive attitude and I just wanted to to let him know we are heavily in the industry and tipped 20% anyway but it was horrible. We won't be returning which is unfortunate because you never know when there is an opportunity to grow and network with other people in the Italian restaurant industry. Sad for you guys, happy we ate some good pizza. Maybe it was a bad day, or maybe it was just a bad attitude.
Wow, great vegan pizza, the most delicious vegan pizza I ever had! We had the chopped salad and two pizzas, artichokes and truffle. Amazing!
The service was fast and our server was very helpful.
We had the arrabbiata pizza and it was shockingly poor quality.
Crust
Flavorless, incredibly dry texture, hard to get through
Shiitake bacon bits
These large mushroom pieces were not crispy at all, instead they were a bit slimy in texture and overwhelmingly sweet for a topping on this pizza — the sauce tasted like BBQ
Cauliflower
They tasted unseasoned and not fresh as well as undercooked (not crispy/ minimal browning)
Sauce
Tasted like tomato sauce out of a can with heat added; very little flavor depth
Cheese
The standout of the pizza; thick and creamy; tasted like a pillowy dream
Overall experience
The pizza was pretty bad. The aforementioned flavors melded together very poorly. The ingredients were unevenly distributed throughout the pizza and the size was quite small for the price.
Recommendation
I’ve heard great things about their other pizzas, but I am skeptical due to the poorly prepared toppings and chalky crust. I’d recommend giving other vegan pizza in NYC a go before this one.
Staff is great. Friendly and know their menu. Indoors is limited but looks great. We were larger group sat outside. Reason why I left NY, we had 3 homeless come up to us, siting outside. For vegan Pizza it was better than most regular pizza. Michele rated its worth the trip, and the homeless.
One of my favorite restaurants in Manhattan! I loved everything I ate - antipasto salad, margherita pizza, and panna cotta. The flavors are fresh & tasty and the prices are reasonable. The staff was nice and the cooks were very quick in preparing the food. I enjoyed that a lot of the cheeses I had in my dishes were nut based and a cream like texture (which helped make it not taste obviously plantbased). They had indoor/outdoor seating and bathrooms available. Highly recommend for great vegan food (and to bring omnivore friends as well)!
This place is highly overrated. Great pizza crust and imaginitive pies but would be nice to have more traditional shredded mozzarella style options and sauce/toppings were pretty bland.
We came to this restaurant with incredibly high expectations. And boy did they live up to them.
It was easily the best meal we had in NYC during our 6 day stay. We ordered the Margherita pizza as well as the eggplant parm which was equally as topnotch.
The cheese and the sauce was all so tasty and delicious. Would highly recommend.
5/5.

I’m going to start with the cheesecake because that was the best vegan cheesecake I’ve ever had! I am *so* picky about cheesecakes and this was incredibly fresh, not too sweet, and the best texture ever. I went weeks ago, and I literally haven’t stopped thinking about it. The pizzas were also very good, but I’m still getting used to nut based cheeses. Where it lacked cheese pull and gooey-ness, it made up for it in flavor and thin crust! I highly recommend the Artichoke and Spicy Arrabiata (if you like a nice kick).
The best vegan pizza I have EVER had! Staff is super friendly and I’ve just had the greatest experience ever every single time I’ve ever been there
Was excited to try Double Zero after receiving a gift card for my graduation. I ordered the vegan pizza and when it came to my table it was luke warm. The drinks were great and delicious but, over priced and hyped up. There was an issue with my gift card… the manager would not accept it. Although it was purchased through their website. I just want to help others and tell people to be wary when purchasing a gift card on their site. The manager was extremely rude when I was explaining that the gift card was purchased through their site. Terrible customer service and will not be returning anytime soon.
AMAZING pizza. Flavours pack a major punch and the service is great. Tried the white truffle pizza and 10/10 recommend if you like the shrooms.
Just stopped in for a drink while it was raining. Staff was very nice. Didn’t eat at this double zero location. But the food is great as well. I enjoyed the Caesar salad a lot.
Their pizza is delicious, but as a non-vegan I was blown away by the cacio e pepe. It was creamy, decadent, and made me completely forget I was eating a vegan pasta. Highly recommend!
Been coming for birthdays and celebrations for a long time. Good quality and unique food which meets everyone’s dietary needs. Even my non-vegan friends enjoy their meals here
Great service and good prices but the Margherita pizza is inedible. The cashew cheese is shocking to my palette. Tastes like an industrial accident involving biohazards and used tires.
