Doubleday's Restaurant & Bar reviews
19I went for brunch, food was ok but I didn’t like the menu with no options or diversity of food, everything has eggs on it, all the plates, it’s definitely not a good option to those who does not eat eggs. They don’t have a menu for drinks what it’s ridiculous so you don’t know what they have to drink and prices. Didn’t like much of the service where she didn’t came back many times so we can order or ask, and she got my order wrong. Dark place, full of mirrors and clean bathrooms.
Real down to earth spot. The waitress was phenomenal. The food was good. The drinks were AMAZING!
Love this place - I've been going here for over a decade by now. Same familiar faces year after year, they get to know you like family. Food is excellent - everything from soups, to salads, wraps, pizza and more. Their backyard beer garden is a must visit too.
Stopped by for a late night bite while in Dobbs Ferry. They were kind enough to accommodate even though we arrived near the kitchens close. Food was good, drinks were nice and strong and the staff was very kind. I would stop by again.
On a whim, my fiancé and I decided to check out this cozy little hideaway in Dobbs Ferry. It was my 37th birthday and I was feeling like I greatly needed a basket of crispy fries, a plate of hot wings and an ice cold beer.
The ambiance is that of a cozy Irish/American pub, decorated with the memoirs of yesterday - old photographs of men long since buried - local patrons who once graced this bar; their bodies gone, but their spirits linger like smoke in the air.
We each order a bowl of the French Onion Soup - it's very good. Then we order a shared serving of well-done waffle-cut fries, served heaping and hot in a basket. Next are the hot wings - we opt for the 'mild' sauce. They were crispy, tangy and yet very juicy. We were most pleased. Along side the wings, one must order beer - it's obligatory. So with that, I order a Stella.
All in all, I liked this place very much, and yes, I would come back. Where this place falls short was the cleanliness of the bathroom and the service.
The bathroom left something to be desired (and, alright, I get it, it's a pub, and an older one at that, but still). As for the service, it was what I'd consider 'adequate' - here's the issue; the waitress disappeared on us for roughly fifteen to twenty minutes. We were the only people seated in the dining room. Eventually my fiancé went looking for the waitress to let her know we were finished with our meal and wanted the check. I'm sure if the place had been a little fuller, it would not have been an issue - but even still.
So, final Synopsis: good food, affordable, relatively decent service, and a friendly, casual dining atmosphere. If this vibe speaks yo you, then this is your spot.
Thanks to Liz! We had a great time as this timeless, hometown bar. Lots of TVs. Classic draft beer and fried food joint that is a staple on any small town main street. Unfortunately, we did not see the back patio until the end of the night which looked incredible
Great food, especially the burgers, Taco Tuesday menu, and salads. They have musical bingo Tuesday nights which is a blast.
Only place open late night to get food. Food was excellent best deserts I've had in quite some time
It was fine. Nothing special, but the food held body and soul together for the rest of the day. Guy behind the bar, the only staff that we saw, was very nice.
Looooved this spot! I went with my family this weekend. It was A friendly and calm place to enjoy good beer and food. The food was DELICIOUS! My kiddos LOVED THE FOOD. We Can’t wait to try more of the menu next time we visit.
I had a pleasant experience at Doubleday’s. We had to sit on the street, I guess the beer garden in the back wasn’t open yet? We did arrive pretty early on a Sunday.
The staff was friendly with is a plus. It was a little odd that only after we paid, we were brought condiments and hand sanitizer for the table. Again, I guess we arrived early.
Got my uncle who is very picky, their corned beef and cabbage and he as the the whole plate! Great place, nice people.
Just another pub.ask for something.doesn't come out.need to remind staff.can't staff focus on work for a couple of hours
Food was fine
Great food and amazing staff. The owner Tom is the best, such a sweetheart. Definitely have a lifetime customer in me!

Me and my friend really just stopped in for a beer, and due to Covid we had to order a food item. We got the mozzarella sticks, which were very average.
In summary, good service, but the only food item I got was mediocre. I did not see the beer garden.
EDIT: I changed my rating to 5 stars. The beer garden is really nice! Upon visiting a second time, the staff was not just friendly, but exceptional. I had the nachos and they were pretty good for bar nachos. I definitely had a 5 experience at Doubleday’s. Just be sure to visit the beer garden or outdoor bar when you go!
Excellent service and brunch menu. I had the crab cake Benedict and my wife has the Jm Beam french toast topped with bananas and sausages and the special syrup. Highly recommend!
Great spot to buy food when in a rush. Their service is swift, pricing is reasonable, fantastic atmosphere. Keep up the good work
Very friendly neighborhood type place. Good menu, TVs no sound in dining area so its comfortable quiet
Excellent staff and service. Terrific bar/restaurant menu, food comes out just the way you want it. Friendly atmosphere with plenty of TV's to watch multiple sporting events.
