Dougie's Jamaican Cuisine, Brooklyn NY

It brings me sadness to have to give a poor rating of the food because the cashier was so friendly and kind. However, this was my first visit and when I got the food home it smelled and tasted burnt. I ordered the oxtails meal, which came with a heaping mound of mushy rice and peas, 4 boney pieces of oxtail and a side of raw cabbage salad. It was horrible and I tossed the entire meal out.

Waited almost 30 minutes for a medium curry goat to be told the goat is still not ready. Having me have to change my order, at the last minute. While waiting, the kitchen where the meals are prepared and dished out was full of people (over 5) with no hair coverings. A lady with a pony tail, a young girl with a messy bun, the Rasta Man with his locks down and it goes on and on to say the least. I will never go back into that establishment. There is always something when I go there, especially with the owner himself is also rude. I do not recommend.

The price keeps going up and the food and containers are getting smaller. I ask the lady to fix my food and they refuse also refuse to give a refund. This is what they gave me as a large food. This is suppose to be a medium and priced as such. I didn’t even want to give it a star but I do like their foods.

I placed an order for curry, goat, white rice, extra gravy with plantains on the side along with othe dishes for the family. Extremely dissatisfied when I opened up my tray and found a whole bunch of rice and literally four pieces of goat. To make matters worse I call Dougies, and apparently there was no manager there for assistance. $15 for a plate of rice and gravy. This is why Black people will never succeed.

I walked in to the restaurant at 8: 04 am to get some breakfast and the way how the young lady was behaving shouting and carrying on asking who opened the door! Like isn’t the restaurant open at 8 am as is stated on the website there was also another customer inside so I said good morning to her she didn’t answer I repeated good morning still no answer so I continue to place my order this particular young lady has a nasty attitude towards customers I’ve been going to this restaurant for about 3 months now since I just moved in the neighborhood the food is not consistent so it’s a hit or miss most times I go there sometimes it’s pure msg you can taste in the food and on top of that this disgusting attitude I don’t think I will be returning any time soon sorry if I wasn’t so hungry I would have just walked out

Best Caribbean food in Canarsie! The fried chicken with the sauce is tasty! The Mac and cheese, oxtail, curry chicken, curry goat and stew chicken is flavorful!

The employees don't pay attention to your order, you request salad, steam cabbage is provided, you request no sauce on the chicken.sauce is on I have given up, NO More I believe they don't care about Uber Eats.

Solid 3.5, sometimes it’s a hit and a miss but you’ll definitely get a pretty decent meal stopping by here.
