Dover Stone Church reviews
17I thought this was just a church I didn't realize that this was a set of trails and I only got to do one of them. I will be back to do the rest of this next year.
This review is for the Dover Stone Cave Trail head. The path is well-maintained, and offers breathtaking vistas. After just a few short minutes, you will find the infamous cave and your brain will melt.
The cave formation, surrounding cliffs, and the streams were well worth the trip. I recommend wearing proper hiking boots that grip the terrain to fully enjoy the several loops and trails in this gorgeous location.
A very nice place for a hike. The cave is beautiful and it's nice following the stream that leads to it. Try to park across the street at the school.
Nice place to visit with short hike. There is no fee for entry but you have to park on nearby school parking lot.
Absolutely incredible gem, tucked away with only a small sign to mark the road. Short hike, but with a few extra hiking trails if you want to get more miles on your legs! Bring water shoes to walk through the creek and waterfall area!
Lovely place to visit. Parking is a bit confusing.in that there is no parking. I went with a good male friend of mine and we enjoyed. We saw a large snake on the trail, but other than that a perfect day.
First off the entrance to this trail is a little hard to find. It's on a tiny road in between two houses so it almost looks like a driveway for the houses. After that's said and done the parking situation is a bit annoying. You can either park at a school (when school isn't in session) or at a couple of local businesses in the area. But those are specified on a paper right before the start of the trail.
As for the trail itself the Cave is really beautiful! The path to the cave is really nice there's a small stream of water running next to you as you go. Inside the cave is a very small waterfall and just luscious views with nice photo ops. The only downside is it takes about 5 min after starting the hike to reach the cave and go inside
Aside from the cave there are also 3 trails to explore, lookout point, upper trail and lower trail. You can probably finish them all in about an hour. And unfortunately when I went there was a ton of cloud cover so when I did the lookout path and upper road all that could be seen was white fog. The trails admittedly did have a really nice forest view though as you travel.
Giving this 3 stars due to really short trails with no good viewpoints, although the cave itself was pretty cool, it's a great place for beginner hikers. The people also seem pretty nice and there's a foodtruck nearby next to Kelly's Creamery that serves AMAZING and really cheaply priced food. Would happily go to that food truck again anytime!
Nice walking trails, great stream and cave known as the stone church, must park in town and walk to trail as there is no parking at the trail head!
Amazing! Simple to get to so much to do and see. Perfect for kids. A unique experience that I highly recommended.
This cave is absolutely stunning if you go mid day there will also be a heavenly beam of light coming into it that is perfect for taking pictures!
Short hike to a beautiful cave and waterfall. My three year old loves this hike! It was the perfect amount of adventure and ease. Highly recommend.
We arrived late in the day, but we really enjoyed the trail that leads to the cave. Beautiful scenery?
Sorry this isn’t a review, but I’m looking for someone to contact about maybe having a wedding here? And how to go about it? Cant anyone help?
Cool place for kids easy walk ️ about 20 min to the church. Parking is very tight we parked down the street across from the fire house and walked up
This is one of the most incredible local places I've ever been. A quick and not too difficult hike for most, includes some wobbly footing and a few short staircases.
Peaceful and serene.blue hike a little much for me but hubby and grandson did great! Definitely will return.
