Down the Hatch reviews
15New bartenders are too soft and the bouncer needs a shower. Tipped $100 on a $9 dollar beer cause I felt bad for them.
This place was a great vibe, but BEWAREEEE of the brunette bartender! She clearly hates her job - told me and my friend we smell bad, condescendingly addressed us as babe, and just overall sucked.looked like she smelled a fart.no my fault you’re a bartender! Don’t take it out on me!
One star across the board. Service was rude if you do not buy a drink you will be watched and monitored. The bartender was rude in talking to clients to the point which I did not want to order. Atmosphere was not pack lore guys than girls but the service was horrible. The way they treat to be customers should be improved.
Terrible experience! 15 minutes and we ran out. Beer pong tables were all spilled. People were drunk sleeping
This is an unexpected treasure of NYC. Our son took us to Down the Hatch for Saturday Football and it was such a treat. From the time we entered we had excellent service, ice cold beverages, tasty food and a fun atmosphere with different sports on every TV. If you are visiting the NYC it would be a bar that you would want to put on your "must visit list".
Great bar, great food…one of my friends loves going here but frankly sometimes there is one bartender that gives you an attitude. But that does not take away from the good music and beer pong!
I love this bar so much! It’s hard not to have a good time here in this environment, lucas is the BEST
The bartender Ashley is awesome, drinks are 1/2 price, food is awesome. Please visit to see a NYC experience.
First time going yesterday! Had a blast, best atmosphere to watch sunday football. They had amazing food and an even better deal for food and drinks! Highly recommend!
WOAH! Best fuggin bar experience we have had in over a decade. To Lucas and his crew —- y’all ROCK! We will be back. Much love from STL.
Went out w my friends here this past saturday night and they had good service as far as quick drink making with attentive bar tenders.beware that this place gets crowdedddd like barely able to move crowded if that’s the vibe ur looking for, this is the place for you! I was very happy w the music they played too: p
I only have good memories of this bar and apparently nothing has changed much in all these years. A great place for a beer and finger food in good company.
Our bartender was very friendly and helpful. We came on Monday not knowing that the bar is completely half off until 7 pm! The value of the drinks in this case was super good and we will definitely be back. Drinks were strong and delicious. Also there were games free to play; we enjoyed some rounds of Uno and Guess Who. This is a great spot!
Maybe the wrong night but it was empty on a Thursday and seems to be a fairly nondescript college bar
Randomly stumbled upon Down the Hatch and so glad we did. Love the dive aesthetic, particularly when it’s done right. This place is so clean and welcoming. Great music, lots of sports on, happy hour every day until 7. They must have the cheapest drinks in Manhattan. Staff was friendly - hey, Lucas! - patrons were friendly, beers were cold and fried pickles were awesome. Wish we lived closer so we could be regulars.
