Downtown Cleaners and Tailors, Brooklyn NY

This is one of the best dry cleaners, I recommend all my friends and family to go here! I trust all of my clothes to be cleaned here and the tailors do an amazing job here too. I recently had some of my things altered here and they came back perfect. The tailors always care for any customer’s request and are always very precise. The customer service is impeccable, I wouldn’t wish for anyone else to fix and clean my clothes. The front end always greet me with a smile and it’s obvious that they care for their customers. I have never been disappointed coming to this cleaners!

I’ve been going to Downtown Cleaners and Tailors for almost 3 years now and I cannot recommend this place enough. We drop off dry cleaning once a week and I’ve gotten a couple of things tailored, and the work they do is always phenomenal. I would have said they were just your regular dry cleaners until they became miracle workers after I dropped off a silk dress that had unfortunately been through a disaster (a full cocktail had been spilled all over the front) and they completely removed the stains. The work they do is absolutely awesome and they are very friendly! I have to admit that they are often very busy as it is a busy street and it seems like a lot of people in the area do their dry cleaning there, but they always take their time with me. Sometimes I even multitask and bring my dog in, which has become my dog’s favorite task as the owner has been the nicest and always gives him some treats. I highly highly recommend downtown cleaners and tailors for any dry cleaning or alterations you might need!

I have been coming here for almost ten years. Everyone has always been really friendly and have always been happy with the service. Tailoring has always been well done.

I’ve been using them for as long as I’ve lived in the neighborhood. I have always found the service prompt and professional, and the alterations are top-notch.

The folks at Downtown Cleaners are the best! I’ve been going there for the past 12 years. They always have a smile and know me and my son’s name.

Leaving my first review ever because I had such a bad experience at this place. Tried to get a dress taken in, and was told my body type was night right for the dress and there was nothing she could do. I am 5’2” and 120 lbs and getting a dress taken in around the waist is pretty standard for me, but here it was not possible and instead she commented on my body (which made me feel so uncomfortable & insecure). I took the dress to another tailor around the corner, it was taken in completely fine and now fits like a glove.

Not to mention, the woman who greeted me was so incredibly rude. She barely said hello, and reminded me that they were closing in an hour when I walked in. As I was changing back into my street clothes (after being told my body was the problem for my dress), this woman starts yelling “LADY! You need to hurry up I am closing! ” while I was in the dressing room. It was 45 minutes until their closing time. I am leaving out so many other rude comments & details, but net net this place is awful and they are incredibly rude & unprofessional.

I went through exactly the same experience as some of the other reviewers. The lady there has been very rude to me. I was so happy that I found the dry cleaner and alteration business near my place (I only moved in the area recently and am still figuring out the different businesses). I entered and waited for her attention as she seemed busy on the screen. I waited and thought that maybe she did not see me so I said hi. She looked at me and did not greet back. I stepped forward and said that I had a dress and I need alteration. She cut me short saying that it was $40 and brutally asked "Can you pay or not? ". I am not sure where that question was coming from.so I said that I was going to try somewhere else and left. She wished me "Good luck! ". I went to another place, was warmly greeted, the price was exactly the same (and that was never an issue), and enjoyed very much doing business with them. I will never ever go back to this place although it is literally 3 minutes from my place.

After getting many quotes of $400+ to dry clean my wedding gown, I discovered this gem. The price was literally half the price of the other quotes. The owner was very friendly and helpful. My dress was perfect when I picked it up. The owner even helped me carry it and lay it nicely in my car (it’s a very big and fluffy ball gown). I would definitely recommend this place.

I don’t usually write reviews but this left such a bad taste. I went Tuesday to simply have a sweater cleaned and greeted the lady (I now know as Jenny) behind the counter and was met with a nasty attitude. She was very rude and short in her tone and overall the experience was unnecessary. I would hate to think it had anything to do with me being of a different race seeing as she (Jenny) works in BK. But I will mention that when I did call her a “racist” she replied with “yes, now leave”. Let me also note that is was the last day of BHM so it hurt more. Please do/be better!

My sister recently went into this store! There was a Russian lady named Jamie/Jaynie. My sister was waiting for this woman to introduce herself but instead she had my sister and my niece waiting there looking lost. My sister finally asked her (Jaynie) ; do you get out stains for dry cleaning and she then told her that she does not she does dry cleaning only! That’s a lie: I had someone come (Caucasian) in using my sisters clothes later that day and she was welcome in by the same woman and told that she was the best at it! She even threatened to call the police on my sister when she took this video of her and then proceeded to “moon” my sister. Please do not come and patronize this business. This is why racism continues to exist because no one checks people with this behavior. She should be shut down and if you frequent her business, you are just one of many individuals who are apart of the problem or just too scared to do anything about it.
