Downtown Ophthalmology: Akhilesh Singh, MD, Queens NY

Dr Akhilesh Singh is my ophthalmologist and he is excellent. He just operated on my cataracts and I’m very satisfied. I have recommended him to all my family and friends and they agree. He is very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything to you.
His staff is very kind and patient. He has all the modern testing machines so he has the results at his fingertips.
The front desk staff is very professional and efficient. They take the time to remind me the previous day of my appointment. I have never waited more than 5 minutes. It’s refreshing to know that Dr. Singh doesn’t overbook and respects my time, HIGHLY recommend!

Love going to this office. They are never overcrowded and there are no long wait times. The office is very bright and clean. I have been coming to Dr. Singh for years and he’s a great doctor. Answers any questions/concerns that you may have and explains everything clearly to you. Also, the staff is always nice and professional.

They get no stars, my father called the office to cancel the appointment because he wasn’t feeling well. Patient with heart surgery and
other medical problems.the girl he spoke with was extremely rude and so unprofessional- she was literally yelling at him- telling my dad he have to pay $75 for last mint cancellation during pandemic— ripping off people and also making money from the insurances. I am also in the healthcare but we never treat patients like this. People have a lot of things going on. When I called to speak with office manager SHEIN John—- he was worst then the receptionist! Extremely unprofessional over talking me when I was trying to explain him the situation why my dad can’t not make! We will find another doctor who does cares less ripping of people if they have an emergency and from desk who represent the doctor and office have manners to welcome the patient- TRASH!
THEY DESERVE A NO STAR REVIEW.

It is always a delight to go to Dr. Akhilesh Singh for my annual eye test. He is a thorough physician with up-to-the-mark instruments in each room and efficient and pleasant technicians working for him. The fear of mom's macular degeneration being passed on to my retina always lurks but I know that with his expert check-up nothing will be missed. I highly recommend Dr. Singh!

Very professional office one of the few doctors office that they dont keep patients waiting well staffed with all required equipment all in all very positive experience.

Worse experience ever!
First day coming into Dr singh office I was assisted by two ladies who checked my eye sight and ran down some analysis. One of the ladies gave me 4 drops in total but before she did I informed her I am driving alone with no companion and I have a meeting to go after this will the drops prevent me from driving after I come out, Her response was I can still drive there's no problem only thing is I won't be able to read clearly. I didn't find a problem with it due to I'm a visual person. While I saw Dr. Singh the same lady gave me 2 additional drops so Dr. Singh can see the pressure in my eyes however the second I stepped out their building I couldn't see I had trouble walking, I tried my best to get to my car that was parked 4 blocks from the office. I waited in my car for 2 1/2 hrs and I missed my meeting. I called twice and explained I was informed I can drive and I'm having trouble opening my eyes and could barely see anything. Receptionist response was I'm suppose to wear shades in the sun due to the drops are sensitive to the sun and its not safe to drive under the effect but I was not informed about this so how was I suppose to know? If I knew these were the effects I would have declined the drops and come back another day with a campanion to drive me. The office didn't take the initiative to provide me with shades or ask if I have shades with me so my question is how ethical is this office? I called again and gladly canceled my appt. I won't be coming back. These are the type of situations how someone can get hurt outside by themselves

Great medical office, wonderful and warm experience from start to finish.
Entire staff is very professional, friendly and attentive. I’m little worried about my mom but all of you are great everything things going so smooth. Day before pharmacy is giving me hard time but
Shaheen who works there she help me out nicely. Dr. Singh personable and answered any questions I had. Thanks so much everyone I just wanted to share it with anyone who is looking for a great Dr with top notch experience and a great staff.

Amazing staff & an amazing doctor! The doctor is knowledgeable and a pro the staff are very systematic and thorough. No wait time whatsoever! They make the whole process so comfortable, extremely happy with their first time service!

The receptionists were extremely rude. This place only takes cash or check. And in these modern age, not everyone is going to be carrying cash or check. I told them I'll pay later and they gave me a dirty look. I kept on asking if it's okay to pay next time and even explained to them I live less than a block away. And the answer was "go to the bank" and "you're gonna pay right"? It's ridiculous because the other patient also didn't have cash or check. Obviously, this is a common problem. And to transact in cash during pandemic? Most places prefer credit card. Try to be understanding if people don't carry cash.geeze.

I was 100 % satisfied in reference to scheduling the appointment, excellent professional attitude by all the associates including the receptionist and the Doctor himself. Office is spotless clean.

Dr. Singh is very professional at what he does as a ophthalmologist. He diagnosis my eyes and took his time to explain whats going on with me. Working in the medical field for 10 plus years i seen great practices and i can say this one is up there. You'll be in great hands!
