Dr. Cynthia Santiago, MD, Port Jefferson Station NY

The receptionist is the nastiest woman out there. Horrible to have to deal with her. Both in person and over the phone. The doctor is so money hungry, that she won't refill prescriptions that you have a medical condition for until you have an appointment every time. They lie and tell you that medications are not refillable until you have more appointments, when you have been taking this for years with no issue with any other doctor! She happily risks your health potentially causing your death just to make sure she gets your visit money. If you're smart, choose another doctor. They do not care about you here. How can a doctor cause more harm than good?

Dr Santiago has been treating my family and I for quite a few years now and we love her. She is thorough, compassionate, and honest.

I have been a patient of Doctor Santiago's for 16 years. As an established patient I have always praised her level of professionalism as well as medical attention. Unfortunately that ends today, I recently have been experiencing a medical issue for which I require surgery, everything happened so quickly and I was told by presurgical testing that I would need medical clearance from my primary care physician. I called Dr. Santiago's office immediately when I was informed, I never received a call back, I then had to follow up with another phone call only to wait another two days for a call back. Stephanie from her office called me and had nothing but excuses, apparently the presurgical results must be received prior to getting medical clearance; understandable. However, that was followed by another phone call regarding my last physical, it has been two years and you need another physical, this can't be done on the same day of the clearance. I have very little time to spare as I need all the time I have at work for the recovery, that was inconsequential to Stephanie and Dr. Santiago, although they delayed it further by not calling me back when I tried to make the appointment the previous week. I was forced to schedule an appointment for medical clearance with a Doctor that I don't know and doesn't know me, but that was the only alternative. I then called Dr. Santiago's office again and asked for my medical records and was told by Stephanie that I had to pay 0.75 cents per page, so probably over $100 as she has been my Doctor for over 16 years. It saddens me to see how healthcare has become a money making business, I am a registered nurse and this is disgusting. Patient care and safety is not of concern to Dr. Santiago, she would rather see me go to a total stranger than to work with me a little and be flexible with the appointment times. I will be filling a complaint with my Insurance company. Beware of Dr. Santiago and her practice, look for someone that will treat you like a person and not a paycheck.

Called a month ago to make an appointment as a new patient. After waiting a month, they call to tell me that they have to cancel because she doesn't see new patients on Saturdays, they're too busy with primary patients. This was completely inconsiderate. If this was the case the appointment should've never been taken in the first place. I will now have to wait another month before i can get an appointment with another doctor. Thanks for wasting my time.

Dr. Santiago is amazing. I am so fortunate to have found her.
