My mom said this place is known for a celebrity (john lennon) got his own glasses in this place! My mom also works here very awesome!

I have been happy with their eye exams throughout the years, but buying frames/glasses was a different story this year. I have insurance and wanted to buy glasses that would be fully covered as I have in the past, and made that very clear at the beginning. After being shown several pair and finding a couple of frames that I liked, I was told that those frames cost more than the insurance allowance and was given my out of pocket price ($$). I was not happy considering I was very clear about only wanting to see frames that were fully covered. I felt that the pitch was to make you ‘fall in love’ with a pair and then charge you for it. It left me disappointed with their tactics. I will consider taking my prescription elsewhere to buy my frames/glasses.

I don't usually write reviews but it's been so hard to find new doctors during the pandemic because my eye doctor had to close his business. I am so lucky to have found Dr. Rao and Dr. Tracy's office. I haven't met Dr. Gary Tracy but my experience with calling to make the appointment and checking out was exceptional. Shanilda was so helpful in scheduling the appointment and answered all my insurance questions thoroughly, my experience with Dr. Rao was exactly what I needed from a doctor and Preet made my experience in selecting eyewear spectacular (pun intended) and I walked out with 3 pairs of eyeglasses. Preet said she finds the frames for the store from Europe and I must say, I have never seen such amazing glasses collection before. I always hate showing logos and they didn't have a single frame with a logo on it. Thank you staff and esp Preet for helping me utilize my insurance for the year ends as well as my FSA. What a great experience! Oh, and I hear that John Lennon was a patient at this practice. I'll be returning next year.

I am sensitive to certain materials in glasses and with Preet’s and others’ patient expert help I was able to get glasses that worked perfectly for me. I’m very grateful to have found this business.

A true professional, who also has a very impressive staff assisting patients as they arrive.
Dr. Tracy is extremely pleasant, has endless knowledge, and inwardly, I constantly had that very secure feeling always reassuring me that this was a true professional working on my eyes!

Front office staff was great!

Sylvia was very prompt in responding to emails and helped me with my contact lens rebate - even calling the rebate center to help me get my rebate. The office accidentally ordered the wrong lenses initially (typos happen!) but very quickly ordered the correct Rx and allowed me to exchange the incorrect lenses and the exchange process was easy and smooth.

Dr. Rao was my doctor and she answered all my questions and found me an OTC for my allergies (when she called my pharmacy she found out the Rx versions wouldn't be covered by insurance).

Really appreciated the customer service here and lucky to have this place in my neighborhood. I'll be back!

I bought a pair of Swissflex glasses to replace the ones I lost a year and a half ago and Gary Tracy was the only vendor selling them on the Upper West Side. I had a prescription from the ophthalmologist so I did not see the doctor himself but the way they fit my glasses was terrible. I had an identical pair of glasses for the previous 10 years so I know how they can fit properly. The hook that goes behind the ears was way too long so I brought it back for a proper fitting and the woman cut one shorter than the other side so now they fall off my face (if that is how they fit them I could have done a better job myself. When I first got the glasses they bridge was a different color (not something I had asked for or was discussed with me) and she tried to argue that the numbers for the color on the form was right). At this point, 1 1/2 years out, I can no longer wear the glasses because the stems that go behind my ears are uneven from the cuts they made and they have fallen off my face so many times that the glasses are all scratched up. Pretty irritating considering how much I paid for them and the fact that I’ve had the exact same pair of glasses last me over 10 years before. Poor service, terrible fitting, awful experience all around. I’ll never buy anything from this vendor again (and watch out for the blonde lady with the shoulder length hair - she butchered my glasses with her pliers to the point that they have to be replaced once more after only 1 1/2 years.

Dr. Tracy was very professional, however I felt like I was getting a sales pitch when I got my eyes dilated (different optometrist which you will have to schedule a 2nd appointment to complete) to pay the extra $35 fee to explore the additional tests to ensure my eyes weren't abnormally larger than normal. Seemed fishy.

DO NOT BUY ANY SUNGLASSES FROM GRAY TRACY I PAYED 525, - DOLLAR FOR A PAIR - YOU CAN BUY ONLINE FOR 245, - DOLLAR. DO NOT SUPPORT THAT BUSINESS!

I've been frequenting this family run business for over a decade. Dr Tracy is extremely professional and thorough and the staff has always been attentive and knowledgeable. Can't say enough good things here.

In an era of declining customer service and indifference they remain attuned to their customers and are responsive to my family's changing vision needs.
