Dr. John P. Brennan, MD, Brooklyn NY

Excellent OB/GYN. Great communicator and available any hour day or night (even took us in on a Sunday night when we thought we were in labor). Worked with us on our birth plan and delivered our baby wonderfully under difficult circumstances. Would recommend him to anybody and we will definitely be going to Dr. Brennan for future pregnancies.

Dr. Brennan has been my obygn for over ten years. As a women of color, it was imperative I work with a provider I could trust to receive the proper quality care. Dr. Brennan delivered both of my children and exceeded my expectations as a provider. During each pregnancy I can attest, he listened and addressed my concerns, discussed them with me, and provided emotional support when needed. My husband and I can not thank Dr. Brennan enough for his services.

Dr. Brennan delivered my wife’s and my first baby girl last January and our second baby girl last month and we cannot say enough good things about him and his wife Jais.
Both deliveries went perfectly without any big dramas, and our 2 girls came safely into the world thanks to Dr Brennan.
During the pregnancies, we felt very well looked after and were always assured that we could call Dr Brennan or Jais at any time of day or night if we had any questions. They are amazing people and super competent and experienced. We always knew we were in the best hands.
We are now finished having babies but we cannot recommend Dr Brennan highly enough for anyone searching for the perfect OBGYN.

Possibly the best decision I ever made was switching to Dr. Brennan late in my 2nd trimester. I was having communication issues with my first OB (odd office hours, would not call back for hours or sometimes days). But the change to Dr. Brennan was night and day! Dr. Brennan and Jace answered all my questions right away, fit me in for appointments as needed including a Sunday night when I was having what turned out to be prodromal labor pains.

I am a First Time Mom during a pandemic, so I faced lots of challenges through my pregnancy, delivery, and after. But Dr. Brennan was a consummate professional and very cool, calm, and collected. He communicated with me throughout the labor process (getting me an extra night of sleep at home before heading to the hospital) and he delivered a happy, healthy baby to a happy and healthy mom. He checked in on my physical AND mental health postpartum. I will definitely use him if/when I have my next kid, and HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Brennan is the best doctor I’ve ever had. He is extremely professional and friendly. His office is always clean and his staff (and wife!) are some of the nicest people. He is size inclusive and worked with me during my infertility struggles as well as delivered my daughter! Dr. Brennan was always there day and night to answer any questions that I had during my pregnancy (being a worry wart, there were a ton!) Highly recommended. I can’t say enough good things!

My experience (first time mom) with Dr Brennan and his wife, Jais, was truly fantastic and I would strongly recommend this exceptional and unique practice.

From the start, I was looking for a Brooklyn-based doctor who delivered at a world class NYC hospital, and that drew me to Dr Brennan. It was one of the best decisions I made - the care I received from both Dr. Brennan and Lenox Hill was amazing.

Dr Brennan reminded me of a family practice that’s hard to find these days. He was always available - for a text or call, whenever I needed him. On a Sunday night, for example, I had an emergency, and Dr Brennan was able to see me immediately (he lives above his office) and evaluate a timely treatment plan. Additionally, the practice is extremely flexible - Dr Brennan was able to accommodate me for appointments after the workday throughout my pregnancy, which is pretty much unheard of these days… For a professional working corporate hours, this made a huge difference for me.

When my son was born, I was so grateful to be at Lenox Hill with Dr Brennan, who knew the details of my birth plan and overall health. Dr Brennan knew that I wanted a natural birth to the extent it was possible, and coached me to support making that happen.

Dr. Brennan also did my son’s circumcision, which he did very well in his office a week after the birth, which we very much appreciated. The trauma of birth is enough for one day for the little ones.

The staff, rooms, and postpartum resources at Lenox Hill are top notch - from the moment you arrive to when you leave, and a carseat safety expert is there to help you take your previous cargo home.

We would be remiss to not also commend his wife Jais, who is equally caring, responsive and professional. The two make a dynamic duo.

If you are looking for a personal, warm, highly experienced practice with an OB who will be there with you from your first visit through your delivery and beyond, you have come to the right place!

Dr. Brennan is a pro. His expertise was clear throughout my pregnancy, the delivery of our son (3/20/21) and my own postpartum healing. My husband and I both feel like we had a great experience working with Dr. Brennan and can't recommend him more highly.

My pregnancy was 'textbook' but it was comforting to know we were in expert hands. Dr. Brennan and Jais were happy to defer to us when we felt strongly about certain decisions - but also happy to explain the options when we were less certain. I really appreciated this guidance as this was my first pregnancy.

My delivery experience was not textbook, and we faced some unexpected challenges given I was overdue and my son was 9.5 lbs. It was such a relief to see Dr. Brennan suit up and have full confidence that he was going to take care of us both. Given these challenges, my postpartum experience was tough - but again, Dr. Brennan walked me through it and coached me through my recovery. I didn't know how important this part of the experience was until I went through it.

We could not be happier with the experience. Dr. Brennan is professional, focused and kind. When he says call anytime - he means it. We appreciated the easy, open communication and that the check-ups were efficient.

Highly, highly recommend! We read all the reviews too, and are very happy with our choice.:)

John and Jais are an INCREDIBLE team. I was so unbelievably supported during my entire pregnancy, labor/delivery, AND postpartum. The care they offer is outstanding and personal; they make themselves fully available and offer a personal touch, making you feel heard and special. I highly recommend this OB team! I feel so lucky to have had my first baby with them.

We never met a better doctor. If you want to feel safe, cared for, and well-informed during a pregnancy, Dr Brennan is the one. That he's attached to Lenox Hill hospital is another plus.

I found Dr. Brennan when I was 25 weeks pregnant and had just moved to NY. I was in a panic bc I had been having a hard time finding a practice I liked. I called on a Friday afternoon and he *personally* called me back the very next day! I felt well attended to throughout my pregnancy, and was especially grateful for our “birth plan appointment” where his partner Jais went over all our options and expertly handled our questions. I tend to be an anxious person and they made me feel so relaxed that at one appointment Dr. Brennan even described me as “mellow”! (This gave my husband a laugh.) But it’s a testament to the confidence I had in his care. He and Jais make themselves incredibly available to their patients (I have both their cell phone numbers!). Because it’s a solo practice I worried that I might have to get moved around a lot, but in 7 months I’ve only had 2 appointments rescheduled and BOTH times Dr. Brennan called me himself! The birth of my daughter went extremely smoothly, even though labor was rough (since I didn’t go to the hospital when advised!) because Dr. Brennan was calm, clear and efficient. He is also very well respected at Lenox Hill which was very evident any time a nurse or someone at maternal fetal medicine asked who my doctor was bc they always got a relaxed smile on their faces when I answered them! I guess they knew I was in good hands! I told my husband last week that if we decided to have another child after we had moved out of Brooklyn I would still travel to see Dr. Brennan bc I refuse to have a child delivered by any other hands!

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Brennan. He is a solo practitioner (but affiliated with Lenox Hill) and extremely devoted to his patients. It is always easy to schedule an appointment (no red tape), and you can rest assured he will be the doctor to deliver your baby. This is not the case everywhere. He is very easy to talk to, answers all of your questions, and truly puts your mind at ease throughout your pregnancy. I would go back to Dr. Brennan in a heartbeat!

I switched to Dr. Brennan and I could not have been happier! He has a great bedside manner I got plenty of photos of my baby and he was on call for whenever I needed to have a question answered or had a concern. He also saw me last minute when I had concerns in my third trimester. I also really appreciate the COVID-19 precautions that him and his wife took in their office to soothe my anxiety. Would definitely go see Dr. Brennan again if I still lived in Brooklyn and was having another baby.

I'm absolutely appalled by the negative reviews that was given about Dr. Brennan. He's absolutely the best, him and his wife make a great team together. They are the sweetest couple I know, after losing a baby with another doctor prior to Dr. Brennan, him and his wife gave me the comfort I needed when having my second child and now my soon to be third child. They even call me to check in when they know I'm under the weather, now tell me in this day and age, whose doctor does that? The negative review mentioned that Dr. Brennan is invasive, I call it being thorough. They call him old school, I call him a man of great wisdom and experience. The doctor I had before was old school, still using measuring tape to measure tummy growth, now that's old school. It's simple to just change doctors if you're not comfortable, that's why there's several to choose from, just move on. But disgracing someone's practices, just because they're not up to your standards isn't cool. So with this being said, thank you Dr. Brennan and Jais for always having my best interests at heart, for always making me feel welcome and taking time out to make sure I'm well.

I moved to Dr Brennan in my 4th month of pregnancy as I wasn't happy with my previous OBGYN. We felt welcomed and looked after as soon as I'd had my first appointment and it continued throughout my pregnancy until he delivered my gorgeous baby boy. Him and his wife Jais take expert care of you but do it with love and honesty. Wouldn't have wanted to go through the process with anyone else. Thank you both of you.

Dr. Brennan and his staff are wonderful! I can not recommend them enough. Throughout my surprise twin pregnancy I was reassured and guided at every turn. With several scares and all the first time mom worries, Dr. Brennan remained patient and provided me with unwavering support and ample time to ask questions. After giving birth Dr. Brennan checked on me multiple times while I was in the hospital, as well as my newborns in the NICU. He was and continues to be so caring for me and my family. It is refreshing and wonderful to see a physician truly care about the wellbeing of the families they are caring for, often going above and beyond to ensure they are truly cared for.

Dr. Brennan is a fantastic doctor. He’s knowledgeable and spends the time to talk with you about your health. I’ve always felt that all of my questions were answered thoroughly and without condescension. Dr. Brennan even gave his cell number for emergencies, and he answered every time that I called. During my pregnancy, Dr. Brennan did perform an ultrasound at every visit (which I appreciated and were all covered by insurance) and was entirely forthcoming with what was going to be done at each visit. Dr. Brennan kept me calm and laughing right up to my delivery, which went very smoothly.

Worst OB! I This doctor is overworked, horrible bedside manner, uses poor judgement. He will give you his cellphone number as everyone claims but its all an act. He's "caring" but not until it interferes with his schedule. If you try to question anything he does, he gets very angry. They claim they never take vacations, and this is true but thats how you end up gambling.like is he in a good mood today or bad mood because he didn't get a break. Dr. Brennan and his wife get into arguments right in front of you as you're being examined. It's very uncomfortable and unprofessional. I would stay far far away from Dr. Brennan and his wife Jais.
