My family and I have been coming here for YEARS to get glasses. They’ve always been great. My mother and I came back about three weeks ago and the blonde woman behind the counter tried to sell my mom a bunch of things she didn’t need. She said she was giving my mom the best possible deal which was a lie. I came back last week to get glasses with my sister and the same woman basically treated us like we were irrelevant because we told her we wanted to pick glasses based on our insurance until we can afford to buy something we like. She was extremely dismissive then tried to sell us blue light filters for our lenses and when we turned her down, she went back to treating us like we weren’t there. Very rude and very money hungry. After I pick up my glasses, I’ll be spending my money elsewhere. Never going back again.

This guy is AMAZING! Please go to him my daughter has never been so comfortable and his patience is amazing

The doctors are this location were great! However the staff, needs to be professional. Went for an eye exam and I was never informed of the difference btw eyeglass exam or a contact fitting exam. I called today and they told me I had to pay because my insurance would not do both. I explained to JESSICA, that I was never informed what test I was given or even asked what I wanted. They told me I can go somewhere else! I dont work for an optometrist, I didn't know there were two different exams, someone should explained to me the difference, and what I qualify for. I would definitely not recommend this place due to the unprofessional staff!

Love everything about this place- Dr.s, staff, selection of frames, reasonable prices, cleanliness. Best eye exam ever. Highly recommend - they truly care about your eye health & not just trying to sell high end frames like most places on the Island.

*** I’m under my mothers name at the moment but I took my son and Dr. Wallfar (I believe that’s how you spell it) was Greatt, and very patient with me and my son, I’ll give ten stars if I can. Just the ladies at th front desk could be more welcoming:) but all was good. Recommended ***

Very nice people. I very much recommend this place, I've been coming here for over 8 years for my prescription glasses.

I took my son's prescription there last year and they did a great job on having the glasses to me right away the young lady that helped me was Christie the staff was also very courteous and pleasant I will definitely return.

As much as I would love to give this place 5 stars I have to stick to 4 stars. I had a very minor situation which led me to speaking to the “manager” Christy who was beyond rude. She wasn’t professional, though I must admit I was a bit aggressive but as a manager she should of had more control over herself. Nonetheless, everyone else in the office is AMAZING! I refer an immense amount of people to this office because I’ve always had a good experience there. Additionally, I’ll continue being a loyal customer for my Eyewear!

I went in got new sunglasses and the manager christie was pleasant and gave me a great price. Absolutely will return again.

I took my son yesterday who is not only six but also beyond hyper and the doctor did an amazing job with him! Thank you again.

I recently went in for my exam and receptionist was pleasant and professional as was Dr. Helfand. I am satisfied with my prescription and I have my own Ray-Ban frames and told this to the Latina at the customer service counter. I needed a replacement case for my frames and asked for one. She told me no and that she couldn't do it. I told her I would pay for it and she said it is not allowed and then she tried to show me the cheap store frames! I had to tell her again that I have my own frames as I handed them over to her! She then proceeded to tell me it will take about a week for my prescription to come in and someone will call me. A week plus later no phone call so I went to pick up my frames and the same Latina is at the counter and I explained to her that no one called. She had to go look to see if my prescription came in and explained to me that it came in but my frames were still not ready. Instead of waiting in their crowded waiting area I left and went back about an hour and a half later to get my Ray-Ban frames and with no Ray-Ban case. I should've gone to my old Dr.on New Dorp lane!

I went in for a check up and new glasses since it had nice reviews and was somewhat closer to my new house. Service was nice however despite my saying that the prescription from my check up was too strong during the check up, my glasses were still too strong for everyday wear. The free frames that came with my insurance were not very appealing so I paid (195$ for frames and a the UV coating) however, wasn't informed of the 30day period to have the prescription updated, only that the glasses had a 1 year warranty. I had tried to go back after I picked up but they were already closed at 7pm when their posted closing time for a Thursday was 8pm!

Lo and behold its 8 months later, I've worn my new glasses all of twice because the sensory overload gave me intense headaches after 2 hrs of wear but I need them to walk around.they can't or won't do anything about it. Worst $195 I've spent to date. I had also planned to come in this year to refill my contacts supply but the service I received so far really isn't worth rushing there after work.

I've been coming here since I'm little. I'm now 39 years old. This place has always been top of the line. Dr. Helfand is spot on with his exams and prescriptions. This man has been doing this for countless years and you never leave feeling like your prescription is off. They are very affordable with an excellent selection of frames. The staff is extremely warm and welcoming with a family type atmosphere. I recommend this place to anyone because I can guarantee quality product and service!
