Dr. Sonia A. Talwar, MD, Plainview NY

My husband and I found Dr Talwar to be very cold, very unfriendly, very unsympathetic, and very unwilling to listen to our concerns. She apparently did not read my hsband's medical history and suggested foods that were incompatible with his other gastrointestinal issues. She insisted that we increase his dosage of meds, which left him distracted, confused and unable to rest. Needless to say, will not be going back to her office for any further treatment. I am adding to these next few lines. Today, at our pain management doctor, we learned that the medicine Dr Talwar prescribed for diabetes seriously prevents his pain killers from working. He had been suffering for days. It now must wean itselfout of his system. Shouldn't she have known that? TOTAL INCOMPETENCE! The name of the drug that interferes with pain meds- Glimepiride.

This office has the worse staff. I've made several phone calls to have my prescription refill at a different location since Rite Aids is no longer in business and they will not return my calls. This office is very unprofessional, they've no respect or even care what happens to you. They don't deserve my business or anyone else's. Very predijuce staff. Find another office.

She took over for Dr Mendeizabal. TERRIBLE front office! Called 3 times today on hold trying to make an appointment for 15 minutes both times. On hold as I type this. Switching Dr today.

Every time I call her office, is a bad experience. Either they don't pickup call during normal business hours after called +6 times, or they pickup and put you on hold for 10 mins then just hang up your call, when they finally talk to you, front desks are very rude with bad attitude. It's very inconvenient. There's alot other issues with billing, and schedule appointment etc. Even the doctor is ok, I personally don't recommend to go here unless their administration make some improvements.

I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. 4+years ago. I was blessed to become a patient of Dr Talwar, as she and her staff have educated me to live a healthy life as a diabetic. She is knowledgeable and kind and her example permeates to everyone in the practice. I highly recommend Dr Talwar. When I first met Dr Talwar, I was 45 pounds heavier. Today, my A1C is 5.7!

I have been a patient of Dr. Talwar for many years and had been happy with her expertise. My insurance plan always requested that I get a referral for specialists. I missed my appointment last year due to personal reasons and made an appointment to see her again this month. Being it was 2 years since my last appointment they made me a "new patient". I made the appointment, filled out all the paper work and showed up at the office for my appointment. They informed me the she changed her policy to not accepting new patients that require a referral from their insurance company. I explained I am not a new patient, that I have been coming for years and missed my last appointment. They did not care at all and now I am in search for a new doctor. I am very disappointed that I was dismissed without regard to my health. This is terrible health practice from a doctor who obviously values her money more than her patients.

Dr Sonia Talwar is simply the best endocrinologist and physician i have a pleasure of knowing. My husband and I are her patients for many years.
She is very knowledgeable, with excellent bedside manner. She take the time to listen to the concern of her patients explain all aspects of the diagnosis in detail. Her staff are also very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Talwar has been my doctor for the last 8 years and I am very satisfied with the treatment I received. She is very caring, knowledgeable and concerned for my well being. I highly recommend her. The office staff is friendly and competent.

They tell you to call for questions or cancellations but pick up the phone and put you on hold immediately and leave you on hold forever.then if you hang up and try back, it’s busy forever. SMH very frustrating
