Dr. W. Douglas Bunn, Jr., M.D., Syracuse NY

I was very disappointed with Dr Bunn. I saw him in 2018 after my primary gynecologist referred me to him as the surgery I needed was complex and more than my primary was comfortable doing. He performed a rectal exam without warning which should have been a sign of his demeanor. The day of my surgery he was late and everyone was waiting for him because I questioned what he had recorded as his part of my surgery (primary surgery was a colon resection, he was there to assist if I needed a hysterectomy). He started yelling because he was going to be running even later and then yelled at me I was too young to sterilize and he hadn’t counseled me I was only indifferent on having children so he wouldn’t remove both of my tubes. I was 28, I’ve been adamant I don’t want children since I was 17, and I was suppose to have the procedure a month earlier with my primary OB. He was being so volatile that the OR nurse told him to get out and the last thing I heard her say was “you will not yell in my OR” and then my primary surgeon came in to tell me they had asked him to leave. If my primary surgeon hadn’t been so calm and capable I wouldn’t have even had surgery that day. It’s been 5 years and I still think about this often and am bitter that I can’t have my tubes out now due to scar tissue. I would not recommend Dr. Bunn under any circumstances.

The office staff and the nurse, (Emily) were amazing!
I wish I could say the same about the doctor.

Dr. Bunn is fat phobic, fat shaming and crude.
I found him to be disrespectful and unprofessional.

I am choosing to go elsewhere for my cancer treatment.

I have been a patient of this office since 2014. Dr. Bunn and Suzanne Volcko, NP, the front staff, to chemo nurses Emily and Reina, Triage Nurses, and everyone in office, Thank you for the Exceptional care that I have received and still receive.

Warning, they now charge a facility charge of 550 plus the 200 for the doctor visit.thats 700 for a routine office check up, my insurance adjusted it to 400. I called and was told Upstate University bought building and now charges a facility fee on ALL office visits.if your insurance has a deductible or percent co pay it will cost.
