Drunk Shakespeare (old location) reviews
14I don’t care who you are or how well you know any of Shakespeare’s plays, you’ve simply got to see this show. The actors are incredible, the stage is so intimate, and the show is hilarious. Don’t hesitate- buy the tickets NOW!
Great experience. Seating wasn't what I expected. They just performed in the middle of a restaurant moving the chairs n tables to the side. One of the actresses was super snotty.
Super fun experience. Wasn't what we were expecting (a performance in a theater), and that was great. It's in a restaurant, so you can order snacks and drinks, chat with the actors before-hand, and you're right in the middle of the action. We loved it!
Great, as always! Hysterically funny (and quite ribald as well as occasionally gross antics, like drinking/ eating congealed matter). Very intimate setting. Audience interaction.
Excellent and talented cast - really interesting idea for Shakespearean scripts - very much enjoyed the night.
The cast were incredible. If you’re looking for something uniquely New York to do, this is it!
Loud funny and unique, a great experience! Would highly recommend if you want to have a good time.
David was the best thing tonight. They had me cackling over tea and coffee. Thank you for the amazing drunk theater also the drinks timely and delicious.but if there was coffee strongly suggest for people who stay up past the bedtime.
The venue had great drinks; the actors were not that great with lots of vulgar jokes and unnecessary nudity to make up for the lack of quality humor
I had little to no expectations before coming to this show other than an actor will be taking 5 or more shots throughout the play and they will be doing a random Shakespeare play. I had so much fun and laughed until I cried. The cast is talented, witty, and hilarious. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a little drunken fun!
The show was absolutely amazing! I don't have a single bad thing to say about the show! Anything good that could be said should be said! The actors were all super funny and very entertaining! Couldn't keep my eyes off the Hugh Jackman lookalike
It was very interactive which made it easier to stay engaged in what they were doing!
Would 100% like to do something like this again the next time I come to new York!
I won't go into extreme detail but the service was not stellar. Took an hour to get our drinks even though we were among the first ones to put in our order. Somehow our ticket was lost. Everyone has bad days but dang.
But regardless of service, I'd 100% go back to see another show!
Hanover Sq location
There are cheaper and less time consuming ways to have a bunch of wokeness shoved down your throat by mediocre actors.
Besides, it’s just not that entertaining and the venue is just a restaurant with the seats rearranged.
I’ve seen it in 3 different locations and they only do Macbeth. The New York location was my least favorite. The address listed is for “Hanover square” but it’s in a restaurant. They could have just put the actual address and name of the restaurant to make it easier. The other locations have a nice set up surrounded by books, so it really gives the feel of being in library with the center being the stage. This location is just the restaurant chairs lined around forming an aisle. The plus side to it being in a restaurant is you get your food and drinks much quicker than the other locations. Also the drunk actor seemed more like he was acting drunk than actually drunk. Smh it was kind of disappointing. I think we will stick to the Chicago or even DC location if we decided to go again. I just really hope they do something other than Macbeth!
