Durga Temple of Westchester, White Plains NY

When we visited the temple on January 1,2024, we were impressed with the look and beauty of the newly transformed temple: decorated altar, cleanliness, availability of the parking, brand new access ramp for the wheelchairs, and last but not the least, nine courses of delicious Indian vegetarian food (surprisingly, not so hot). The new location of the temple in the heart of Westchester is absolutely stunning, quiet, and peaceful. The best part is that there are no fees charged for parking or food. The temple which is currently open on weekends welcomes people of all faiths. Truly, Durga Temple of Westchester is a temple dedicated to Shakti who in Hinduism is symbolized for the Holy Spirit of God as a Divine Feminine.

It was a great experience attending the aarti and celebrations on 1st day of opening. Lovely decorations. Loved the New temple Beautiful construction.

Vibrant and welcoming community! Excellent place to meditate and peace of mind. Would def recommend a visit atleast once and you could feel the difference it makes on you.

My family and I have been to the temple a few times. The people are very friendly and welcoming and we truly felt at home being there.

I have been involved since the inception of this Temple. It’s really doing a great job for Hindu Community.
I have to specifically say our Volunteers are doing a commendable job. They do everything to bring the Hindu community of Westchester together. They organize all Hindu functions - besides doing weekly Hanuman Chalisa -, bi- monthly Geeta classes. Also doing Yoga/ kids activities to say a few.

I would say few words of appreciation for ladies who always offer fresh Prasad - meals for almost
every gathering. They give a lot of time in organizing functions - besides decorations and preparing prasad.
My whole hearted support to this organization - which is more than Religious places.

Durga Temple permanent location is beautiful and peaceful. All the volunteers are very devoted and helpful.

The address provided for the durga temple at sleepy hollow is incorrect
as we didn't find any temple when we reached there. We spent half an hour walking around the neighborhood trying to find the temple which is so highly rated. It would be really nice if someone from the community could update the address of the temple.

On Sunday. March 19,2023, I arrived at both buildings of this after 4 P. M. They were closed even though the website stated that at least one building should have been open. I tried to speak through the number on the cell phone at that time and there was no answer. I have noticed that the comments are closed for their videos on youtube. It seems to me that negative comments are taken from there facebook page.

Was there yesterday for a puja. What a great organization to keep in touch with your roots. Appreciate the volunteerism and service by so many individuals.

It's a wonderful community with a team of generous and great people, who are always ready to contribute and support to a cause.

Westchester is blessed with the maa durga temple. I for one have been longing for temples in westchester for 20+ years. I don’t feel complete with our temples.

Absolutely loved the Saraswati Puja this year. It was my first visit to the temple. Everybody was so welcoming!

I love Durga Temple, it's very nice mandir and it's very convenient to go there it is close by, everyone is so nice and kind and the community members have done amazing jobs to keep the indian culture together with all the functions and everything. I really don't know what else to say, because, this place is amazing and once you go there you don't want to leave. It is very organized the way it is suppose to. I am very that we have this kind of mandir and people still around us. Thank you to everyone.

Durga temple is doing a lot for the community, Hanuman Chalisa every Tuesday, Geeta discourses twice a month, Sunday yoga, Ramayan paath, Hindi classes for kids, festival celebrations. Volunteers work hard unconditionally. Visiting the temple gives feeling of peace and family atmosphere.
