Contracted to have a mini-split ductless unit installed in our home. Great job! Clean, attentive to details, and very professional. Would highly recommend this company! ’

Update #2: Months after we thought everything was resolved, I just found a $230 charge on my debit card from them. How irresponsible can one business be!? This is infuriating. Do not do business with them.

Update: They eventually apologized for their mistake and refunded us for the propane in the tank they took. It was a mistake with the previous owner of our property.

I am livid. Unbelievably unprofessional. We came home this evening to find they had taken our propane tank without any notice! We double checked our bill: our account balance is $0, we received no notice of a bill, and we are set up for autopay when bills do come through. On top of all this they did it on a Friday, so we have no way to contact them and figure out why they would even do such a thing!?

At first I thought e and v energy was a credible and reliable service company. I had several repair persons to my home and had favorable results. Well after Covid they had slipped ALOT! July 22 our a/c went out they were quick to get my order and my money, but then the trouble started, it would be over two weeks before someone could come and install it because they were busy and shorthanded. No exceptions since it was the hottest month of the summer and I only had 5 animals in my house, adults and guests arriving. The day they came to install the a/c it was 86 in my home! Then to find out that they had the wrong units, so someone had to go to Syracuse to get the right units and bring it back. Ok there’s day one gone, day two arrived and the unit was installed only to find the wrong piece was sent for my air filter. So now we’re at day three to be told they also need a part sent from the furnace manufacturer and they have no idea when it would arrive and when they would be able to get back and install it. It took over a week to install my a/c and begging them to finish the job since I was now hosting my family and guests in a hotel since my house was so hot. Then I was told that I was a member of their “ club” for the next year. Well that was only the ac club, because when my blower fan went on the furnace I was told it would be over a week before someone would be able to come and fix it. So I reached out to another hvac company who was here within an hour and they figured out what was wrong ordered the new blower and were back to make the repair two days later. Fast forward to today when I went to switch from heat to ac it broke again. Had new hvac come and they said it was the board in my furnace, since e and v was the original company that replaced and installed it that they should come to fix it. So Rich was sent to my home, and he was here for two hours tore my thermostat controller apart and said that I needed a new one and someone would call with the costs later that day. I’m still waiting! When I’m fact it didn’t need this item at all and I was taken for $324.00 for a service call and repair that never took place! The supervisor came to clean up the mess left by Rich, who also had reprimanded me for having another company come to fix my furnace and said they were probably at fault for my troubles. Then reprimanded me again that if they did anything to my ac or board that e and v is NOT going to make good on the warranty claim because I had someone else come to fix my furnace. I asked for refund of my $324.00 and they said no they weren’t going to do it.

Propane Delivery- We are down to 50 gallons of propane because they are saving on trucking cost by only delivering when they absolutely have to. We have a snow storm on the way this week and hopefully they can get here before we run out. Now I am scheduled to get a delivery in a few days and will be expected to pay a $900+ heating bill within 10 days or be charge $. 10 a gallon more. This in stead of coming once a month to assist with people budgeting for heating. We are fortunate enough to be able to pay this but many people are not. This is a poor way to do business and I will be looking to replace both mine and my parents heating company.

I own a number of rental properties so I have worked with a number of heating system contractors and have been impressed by the quality of service techs from E&V. They also have enough techs to respond to maintenance calls in a reasonable time frame even in the middle of winter.
Recently, I had a boiler fail. The boiler had been installed by another company and had been troublesome for a couple of years. I suggested replacing the boiler rather than trying to fix it. The service coordinator showed great initiative in dispatching an installation consultant the same day, late on a Friday. This older building has 3 boilers with a complex web of piping. The consultant immediately recognized the problem and suggested a course of action that would most efficiently restore the heat.
The techs arrived 2 working days later, assessed a complex and confusing system, and installed a new boiler with cleaner and better organized piping. These new boilers are complex high tech devices. I was impressed by the competence, knowledge, and care demonstrated by the techs. They were professional and very willing to answer questions to help me understand the system and what they were doing.
No heat calls in the middle of winter are some of the most stressful maintenance calls that I deal with. I am glad that I can call on E&V.
