Eagle House Restaurant reviews
17Food and atmosphere are great. It also has a great history of being part of the underground railroad. Prices are a little high.
We were lucky enough to find a place at the bar on a Friday night after work! Service was great! Just recommend making a reservation if you want a table!
Eagle House was the perfect place for our last meal before the big blizzard hit the following day 12/23. This was our 5th or 6th time dining here, and our first time being served by Olivia-who was outstanding in every way!
Although the restaurant was busy, Olivia was very attentive and friendly, offering us appetizers, special drinks and dessert without being pushy. Having been in sales, I thought her approach was spot on. In fact, because of Olivia, my friend decided to order 2 extra dinners to go in case he couldn't get out for food during the storm. And thank God he did, because he was stuck at home for 3 days with little to enjoy except his Eagle House food!
Three cheers and 5 stars for Olivia! We'll be back.
Depending on where you are seated, the atmosphere is that of a nice pub (booths) or an elegant restaurant. The menu includes everything from wings and beef on a weck to filet mignon or chicken pot pie. Plus the appetizers are wonderful.
Food was good, but nothing amazing. Went in for Restaurant week and I was just a bit disappointed, by the options and their cost. Didn't really feel like a fun Restaurant week deal.
As for the 4/5 stars for service, we did have our 11 month old. They were pretty accommodating, but for the life of him the waiter couldn't figure out that he shouldn't put the plates and drinks in range of her and were we had her food. A lot of things he put down were a mad dash to get her hands off them and move them over.
The eagle House is one of the oldest restaurants in western new York and it maintains all of the charm. The food is simple but done really well and the service is always spectacular. Megan was working on Saturday and she is just terrific! I will always happily frequent this establishment. Turkey club and french onion soup pictured.
Historical landmarks, great food. Chef is able to adjust for gluten free. And they have a a gluten free beef gravy! Yummy.
Food was great! There were 9 of us for dinner many around me had salads, I had the pot pie it was wonderful! The person next to me had the salmon, she said that was wonderful to! The salads looked amazing and most having them had leftovers to take home!
I haven't been to Eagle House in over 12 years. Went last night and all I can say is Wow! We had a party of 8. Our server I believe was Brett and he was phenominal! EVERYONE LOVED everything that was order and the sirloin with gorgonzola was done to perfection!
Hats of to my new (old) favorite restaurant!
The place has an old-house charm, the service is OK, but the food desires so much better. If you end up there - just order drinks and enjoy. There are much better choices next door.
Our waitress was great, so attentive. The food was fine: good clam chowder, okay chicken sandwich. The pot pie looked delicious, I'll have to get that next time.
Came here with two of my Friends from Grammer School to rehash old Memories of days gone by. The Food was really good. I had the Chicken Picatta, along with one of my friends. My other Friend now lives in Texas so she's been wanting some of the foods that she can't get in Texas, so she ordered the Roast Beef on a Weck Roll & Chips & she was Happy, so we enjoyed our time there as well as the Food! They didn't chase us away either! I recommend this place, & will Definitely be back!
Loved the ambiance. Loved the look. Would love to get back for more than just a drink. But a drink at the bar is nice too.
We had a group of 16 last minute and The Eagle House accommodated us and the food was delicious! The shrimp cocktail was the biggest we’ve ever had and we’re from New England! Excellent Roasted chicken, beef on weck, fish and crab cakes!
Food was fantastic, noise and the acoustics of the environment are due to to design but then again, this is an old building. You can smell the polished antique wood and appreciate the old english vibes, especially if you are not from the area.
Plan on spending some time here and not being in a rush as there is a bit of a wait for food. This is typical of restaurants similar so grab some friends, have a drink and chat.
Very good ambiance and the food was very flavorful and tasty. Good selection of beer and libations. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable
One of the most beautifully preserved restaurants in WNY. Authentic experience, polite staff, great bar, great back patio dining, multiple event spaces. Off main st rear parking.
The history surrounding this building and chronicled within is astounding. What a great meal, everytime.
