I was admitted into Eastchester Rehabilitation and Health Care Center on October 15th, 2020 after I sustained a fall and fractured my leg. I was initially very afraid about going into a nursing home. When I arrived the staff was very pleasant and friendly. The recreation staff allowed me to speak with my brother regularly via FaceTime and a phone was set up in my room so that I can remain in constant communication with my family. My physical rehabilitation went very well. The therapist were patient and very skilled. When it was time to plan my discharge my social worker set up home care services for me and a doctor to visit me at home. They also set up physical therapy and nursing services to visit me in my house. I highly recommend Eastchester for anyone needing nursing care or physical rehabilitation services.

I came to Eastchester on September 29,2020 after undergoing back surgery. I was confined to a wheelchair at the time and I needed a lot of nursing and medical care. Eastchester's nursing and medical staff made me feel immediately comfortable and at ease. The physical therapists were patient and very professional. I am happy to say that on October 28th, 2020 I was able to walk out of the rehab center and return home.
I can not thank the staff at Eastchester Rehabilitation Center enough for getting me back up on my feet.
I highly recommend Eastchester for anyone who needs rehab for any medical procedures.

Today August 4th makes one year since the passing of my mother, Madeline. She spent her final months at Eastchester. The staff was very kind, attentive and loving towards her. Staff members were in and out of her room all day checking on her and bringing juice, water and other things to keep her comfortable. They said she was one of their favorite patients. There was so much entertainment: bbqs, games, movies, music and more. The residents were happy and lively. Thank you for making my mother's last few months pleasant. Thank you to Horacio, Curvie, Priscilla, Inez and to the rest of the caring staff especially Ms. Negron.

My mother was a resident at Eastchester Rehabilition Center. Prior to being there she had been place in a different center where the care was unsatisfactory, there was a lack of communication between staff and myself, as her guarantor, the recreation department was a fiasco, the nurses and CNA’s were rude and they made you feel as though you were insignificant in your families care.
In Eastechester Rehabilition Center, I experienced the opposite. The next day after I transferred my mother, the care team, which consisted of supervisors, Dept. Directors and the Director himself, introduce themselves, answer all my questions and making me feel as an intricate part of my mother’s care. There was constant communication and if there was any concerns, they were quick to respond and correct any situations.
The Recreation Department was always active, caring and loving towards the residents and their families. Every care team member assigned to my mother’s care were professional and caring towards my mother and myself.
The building structure is a bit old, but the care is impressive in comparison to other facilities that are more luxurious.

The facility was beautiful and while I was walking through you were able to see the happiness on all the residents faces. Some were watching a movie and others were dancing but all were having a blast.

Hello all. I went for a walk through yesterday to check out the facility and was greeted by Amanda. My first reaction was hell no when I walked in the place. To me the place looks ran down and smelled. Amanda was very rude when speaking and sounded like a machine. I called today for some additional information again Amanda very rude. I told her thank you you just sealed my decision. NOT

My mother was treated horribly bad by social worker. They do not know how to talk to patients. Very rude staff. They all need customer service training.

For 2 hours we heard a man screaming for help, as their facility faces my backyard. We called the location and they said they look into it. Nothing. We take matters into our own hands and go in and see what the problem is. We asked the front desk already. He said he told the nurse although it had already been well over an hour and a half at this point. He proceeded to be unconcerned about the situation and rude. We spoke to the nurse and what we shared seemed to be news to her. The screaming stopped 20 minutes after that. The lack of care for their residents is disgusting and immoral. There was no sense of urgency when they are made aware there is a person in need of help in THEIR facility.

My father was here for 3 months and he was treated with respect and care. The staff members that work there were not only helpful but caring, respectful, attentive, and efficient.
They helped save his life and got him back to full health. My family an I are very happy to see his progress! If you are thinking of using their services I recommend this place for you and your family.

My mother Elizabeth Rodriquez was a patient at Eastchester rehabilitation and health care center. She was admitted for short term rehabilitation and nursing care after undergoing a triple bypass surgery at Columbia Presbyterian hospital. I was highly impressed with the care and services my mother received. My mother had never been in a nursing home and was very nervous and fearful when admitted. The nurse manager on the short term rehab floor (Sister Bincy) and her staff were incredibly nurturing and supportive of my mother. My mother felt comfortable and at home from the first day she arrived until she was able to return home. The physical and occupational therapist were patient and understanding of my mother's cardiac condition. My mother was bed bound on admission and was able to walk home 4 weeks after admission. I don't have the words to express the eternal gratitude I have towards Eastchester rehabilitation and health care center and all of its staff I highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking short term rehabilitation care or respiratory care.
Thank you

CLEANING UP MY DADS BLOOD OFF THE FLOOR AND NOT AIDING HIM AFTER BEING ASSAULTED BY STAFF MEMBER. This place is inhumane starting from the administration to the nurses. Especially nurse BINCY MATHEW which is also know as SISTER BINCY. Sister Bincy gave me two totally different story’s of what happened to my dad. But she did state on both stories that he slipped and fell. I have the video to prove this. While my dad is left crawling on the floor for his life the staff gets paper towels and towel to clean up the blood off the floor. Was told he had a superficial bump on his head.when I arrived they had cleaned him up and placed him in a wheelchair as if nothing happened. Didnt realize at that time what happened to my dad but now he was being sent to hospital. Later to find out he had bleeding in the brain. Thank goodness for this video because until this day know one has said anything to me about this assault. Please look else where for you loved one especially if they can do anything for them self. I would love to know what they would say if you ask about it. Remember I have the video. Religion sister Bincy?

Really not the best place. Brought my mom here for physical therapy after being bed ridden with AML. They didn’t pay much attention to her during the social events. They brought her just to bring her, but didn’t really pay her much mind. CNA had an attitude when asked to do their job (clean mom, change her). They set an unwelcoming ambiance. Very few to no attention shown from doctors, nurses, CNA’s, etc. What I did like was how they took care of her when she was incubated. They stayed on top of cleaning it out. This was back in 2012. I do not know if things have been different since.

Horrid. Deserves less than one star! DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. My father was just sent to the hospital after having a fever for more than 3 days. Nobody seemed worried of the fact. I had to BEG nurses to come check his temperature and give him Tylenol. Disregard the fact that they are COMPLETELY UNDERSTAFFED and that almost 99.9% of their staff are RUDE AND DISREPECTFUL. Their medical practices are AWFUL. My father is DEHYDRATED, a blood sugar OVER 400, and an INFECTION due to NEGLECT! There are not NEARLY as many CNAs needed to efficiently change all patients. COUNTLESS TIMES I WAS TOLD TO WAIT MY TURN. NURSES DON'T TELL YOU ANYTHING IN REGARDS TO THEIR VITALS NOR TRY TO KEEP YOU UPDATED. They mearly complain "I cannot work around you (family), you need to give me privacy! " Sorry MS. TAYLOR 3RD FLOOR. BUT IF YOU CANNOT DO YOUR JOB WELL ENOUGH IN FRONT OF THE FAMILY THEN YOU CANNOT DO YOUR JOB AT ALL! SHAME ON THIS FACILITY FOR EVEN ATTEMPTING TO THINK THAT THEY CAN TAKE CARE OF RESIDENTS.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO DIE.
