Eating Tree reviews
21First order but not the last! Delicious oxtails and yams! (Cabbage was so-so). Generous serving - enough for 2. Fastdelivery of hot food.
Please just go to flavas. The only thing good here is the chicken patty. The peanut punch is a disgrace.
I ordered oxtail and turkey wings. Food was extremely unpleasantly spicy. I had to dump the entire $40 worth of food. That is not how you cook. Spice can’t over take flavor. My daughter is 4 and couldn’t eat any. This is horrible. I will never spend another dime at this place. I only went because flavas was not opened. I highly recommend you find somewhere else. You guys need some new cooks. Your cooking for the public not yourselves.
They never open on time (been coming for years. I know this for a fact. I would typically come early in the am due to alternate side parking) Literally just waited almost 25 minutes after 9am. I called to ask if I could place an order for pick up while sitting outside in my car and was told to give it 10 more minutes. I started to wait then said forget it. Food is great but the service sucks more with the younger workers.
This is a long time favorite of mine, even though we all faced challenges throughout Covid 19, but it is nice to know that their good flavor hasn't changed.
Been going there for years food good staff great and they prices are good as well please go and enjoy what I've experienced and they know they customers by name
The food here was horrible. Oxtails were over cooked to a point where they was dry as hell. Cabbage was crispy no taste, the plantains were hard and dry.
For $23.00 this is unacceptable. I would never grace this establishment ever!
Please don’t bother with this restaurant save your self from high blood pressure and sugar diabetes. They are all about a dollar. They don’t care and they always mess up your order especially when ordering online. They food salty home made juices are very very sweet
Great food and great customer service. I ordered that Brown Stew Chicken and couldn't believe how tender the chicken was. The sauce was just as good and I didn't have to ask them to put it over my rice.
Oxtail was ok but the rice and peas was better. On the downside do not like the plantains too dry and wasn’t ripe properly
The food at this restaurant is sooo delicious. I ordered the oxtail dinner and the stew peas.
The staff is amazing very pleasant. This place is well worth the trip
This place fell off big time the Mac and cheese was obviously refrigerated overnight you tell for from the taste which they’ve denied and the they didn’t even take the skin off of the chicken in the curry. Who stews chicken wings. Awful experience. Such a shame this was my favorite Jamaican spot too.
I ordered the steamed snapper for my boyfriend and after a few bites he threw up. The fish even had the scales on it.so I believed they never cleaned it. I had the jerk chicken and one bite of the chicken. I couldn't eat anymore of it. The rice and peas was very dry and tasteless.the steamed veggies was even drier than the rice. I will never ever order from this place again. They are overpriced and they do not know anything about Caribbean cuisine.
This place is hit or miss. It's good depending on the time of day and whoever is at the register.
Edit: January 2022. No longer a hit or miss. It's a straight miss as the food is now disgusting. This is not authentic and the chefs should be ashamed. They only get business because the locals don't know any better. My advice to anyone looking for good west Indian food nearby get on the d train and go to Harlem where there are a few good spots.
Horrible service.your not allowed to ask questions. You will; get nasty looks and they will trough your plate and roll their eyes at you Get very annoyed at you if you dare ask a question about the price. I was soppose to know all the prices and read their mind and keep my mouth shut
Went in on a Thursday afternoon around 3pm wasn’t really crowded. I lost my debit card so I asked the guy that was about to take my order if they accept Apple Pay just so in case they don’t I don’t inconvenience them by making my food with no form of payment. There were about 4 other people in the kitchen with him & he said hello we take apple P or apple bees or whatever and they all laughed! He then went to the back closer to them. There was a lady at the counter assisting another customer and I had to go and ask her and she said no they don’t. I found this very unprofessional. If he didn’t understand what I said he should have called someone over and ask me to repeat myself. Definitely not coming here again.
Typical Bronx, Jamaican food. Reasonable prices. Entrance says no mask no service but half of customers still had no mask and many employees just wore the mask over chin or under nose.
Didn't have mac-n-chz when I went. That was a bit disappointing. However, we just doubled up on our rice. The jerk chicken was great and the portions are definitely worth the money spent. This place is easy on the wallet.
The roti from this place is really bad it’s not roti it’s like a gyro I ripped a piece off and like dust was falling from inside of it I’ve have roti from a couple of places and made it myself but had never had anything as bad and tough skinned as that before ever
My food went straight to the trash. My curry goat was filled with cabbage and had plantains. I order curry goat roti and jerk pork. Never received the jerk pork. I will never support a business that doesn’t care how their product is delivered or received.
