ECMC Health Campus - Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo NY

I recently was treated at the Emergency Dept.and Wound Center and I cannot say enough about the care I received. The entire staff was very professional and most important treated me as a person not just another patient. My hats off to all with a special shout out to Christina in the wound center.

I was transported from another hospital for a dislocated ankle/broken Fibula. I was treated with professionalism from start to finish. I was there approx 20hrs and that includes surgery. (Plate and 9 screws) They are level 1 trauma care. Personally I recommend them.
Please keep in mind. You really need to understand how busy they can get. A hang nail is not priority for them even though it is for you. Pickin up what I'm putting down?

On Sunday we took my dad who is 88 years old in as he fell on the ground getting out of a car around 6 at night. He hit his head and had a big gash, needed 4 stitches in his fingers. He was somewhat confused from the fall. They sent us home at 3: 00 in the morning. On Tuesday he was in so much pain in his hip and groin area we took him to Kenmore Mercy he has 3 fractures in his pelvic! Why on an 88 yo would you not X-ray his hips after a fall?

My social security number and medical history was accessed by an employee (s) that works here. They were able to use my social security number to commit fraud and call company’s on my behalf. This was reported but never looked into. I would not suggest coming to this hospital if ever in need of any help as I am also not the only person this has happened to.

So I went there for a rabies shot 2 months ago I told him I could have got bit in the foot.he laughs just like the ambulance that drove me there they made me feel crazy. So he convinced the codc too that I’m crazy. Something bit me a bat was in my room…… if I die I told my sisters and my family to sue this place it’s ridiculous you made me feel that way… you told me bats aren’t known to have rabies that should have been the red flag… but you guys are in charge I hope you get fired when I die and I hope this place is shut down. Not the smartest people just a bunch of people on tik tok hoping the next person likes them…. Glad everyone wants to be cool do your job…

Don't pay in cash. They will take your money and send you a bill. Billing don't have a clue on how to communicate with patients or other departments. Go someplace else if you can. Unless you would like to pay twice.

ECMC is by far the worst ER I have ever been to. I was referred there by Springville Urgent Care because they couldn’t remove the 1” splinter embedded in my thumb. I arrived around 9: 00 pm and checked into the ER. It is currently 1: 25 am and I haven’t been looked at yet. I’m not sure if it is understaffed or just poorly run but I will gladly go out of my way to avoid this place in the future. Update at 6: 45 am - the care provided by the doctor and the doctor in training was very good. I would still avoid the place if possible but once you get in the care is good in my opinion.

I was waiting there almost 9 hours. After 9 hours passed my time I came back home without treatment because doctor doesn’t show up or call me. I have very bad experience in ECMC

Buffalo worsted hospital I aver been. I admit my mom at 12 am the tock here blood from then 5 hours no doctor or nurse show up and there are not much of passion

I had to take my daughter here due to psychosis.at the beginning stage she didn't understand why she was there or being admitted poor communication in Ercpep & the Dr not following through with the family as they stated.

Once admitted to the floor a more calmer environment.

I recommend not going to Ercpep unless it's a last resort emergency and person is completely unaware of their surroundings

Easy access parking was not difficult and access to patients was easy after check in was completed.

Visited a friend recovering in ICU. This place is so large and bustling. Wasn't the easiest to find parking, but overall, my experience was positive. All of the staff i encountered were pleasant and helpful. The hospital was clean. I am a little disturbed by the reviews, though. Because I personally use reviews, if given a choice, I would explore other options.

Demeaning. Went in for emergency per urgent care. Had to listen to some guy yelling he’s “God” & “Derek Jeeter” while they did nothing, sent over the wrong scripts to the wrong place & a nurse bent the IV needle. I was worse when I was discharged. This is 3rd world medicine here

Emergency wait is ridiculous I've been here since 11: 30 am and just got registered 4hrs later. This is sad.

I went to cpep edlease 4 times. My last time was in 2018. I'm not gonna say the cause because that's personal. However, my experience was absolutely horrible. It was living nightmare and it was hell. The nurses and the staff were very defensive for no reason.took me a while to get a bed. There were a lot of fights and i got terrified. I was shaking and crying. I was trying to stay calm regardless of how i really felt just so i can get the heck out of there. The staff there likes to provoke a reaction out of you on purpose.but can't give into it.the doctors i saw were no help and one doctor looked wired. Out of everyone who woke there.i came across afterwards nice people.but the rest were awhile s

In Buffalo, the cops wake you up in the middle of the night, tell you you're suicidal, and take you to the CPEP ward where your rights are outright neglected and the nurses physically abuse innocent people. Those people are innocent victims of slander and deserve to have their stories heard by a court of law. If they've committed crimes, then arrest them; but this is just a convenient place for corrupt cops to take people who they don't like, and make them disappear.

Sit on a phone for 2 hours to tell me there not taking nobody else. How do hospitals get away with not treating people IN A EMERGENCY.

Don’t waste your time, I’m12 hours into my visit into the ER. S as directed by my doctor to come here. I haven’t been seen by their staff yet except for vital signs. This is ridiculous

I went to the emergency room yesterday and the loud young lady behind the counter/desk didn’t bother to acknowledge my presence because the Bills game was more important. I had to repeat my date of birth a few times because of the game being more important. I have never experienced anything like this at ECMC ever

I went to ECMC yesterday for implied suicidal ideation and OCD. Don’t get me wrong, it was a wake up call, but only because I don’t want to go again. If the people interviewing you before going to CPEP tell you that you will be there for a couple of hours before the weekend, they are lying. It takes about two days to be seen. I had to be discharged and nobody stopped misleading me when I was there. My dad and I had to wait for six hours to talk to somebody when we were told that it would be about an hour. The staff has terrible communication. They also will not give you over-the-counter medications. I dealt with horrible issues physically because they weren’t able to call in the medication. There is also nobody to talk to. It was hell. The staff was nice though. Shout out to TJ you’re a real one. And I got to go in a cop car. But that’s because the cop is cool, not you people. The ambulance driver also was unprofessional and refused to drive us to the hospital even though it was an emergency. I got to watch fights though so that was cool. Y’all need self control.
