Ed's Lobster Bar, New York NY

Nice little restaurant but bad and loud techno music. Grilled Shrimp salad + lobster roll, not good and too expensive.
We left this place asap and we move to another restaurant.

Stayed at Solita next door and came down with wifey for a late night drink. Tried the Transfusion and the John Daly. Both good picks.

Gotta try the lobster next time

I’m so disappointed to write this review as I have been a huge Ed’s fan for years; I used to recommend it to anyone I knew visiting NYC. I hadn’t been to the city since Fall 2019, so this was the first time I’ve been in a long time. I’ve always loved the lobster ravioli. Tonight not only was the sauce not as tasty, but the lobster in the ravioli tasted more fishy. I’ll say, it was still pretty good, but nothing like it used to be. The lobster nachos were terrible. No lobster for starters, and then it was just greasy, kinda stale chips with a sub par cheese sauce, tons of tomatoes, and canned jalapeños. Lobster Mac and cheese: terrible. Bland sauce and I know that “some people” love it, but we didn’t like the green brains that had spread across the lobster. The lobster wasn’t good; it was stringy and mushy. Lobster roll, wow, how was this also bad? Tasted like there was lime juice in it…There was this sharp acidic taste that didn’t belong. It’s so expensive for mediocre food. What a bummer; I’ll miss the good Ed’s!

Get ready to get ripped off!

I ordered delivery at the same price as the restaurant and got portions 1/4 the size that the same cost items are in person.

I don't usually write negative reviews but I ordered the lobster salad and it was presently nicely except the tomatoes (7 pieces) were not ripe. They were hard. I asked nicely a n d they brought me out a second set of unripe tomatoes. I told the gal and the bartender as I was sitting at the bar that these were the same. So she brought me out a third plate of unripe tomatoes but sliced this time. I told these were identical to the 1st and 2nd and she replied this is how we serve it. I was stunned. No one charges $35 for a lobster salad which was good aside from the tomatoes that you cannot eat.
So dine at this place cautiously

At Ed's Lobster Bar, I've had the lobster sandwich. It was very delicious and well prepared. But the best hit were the french fries included in the dish - you could praise the lobster for being the lobster but the fries were very unique. I don't remember the last time I had such good fries. They didn't have that weird sponge texture inside that 99% of fries (even belgian ones) have. The crispness was just perfect.

Cross it off the list! This was my favorite place of all time. I came here for every anniversary, birthday or whatever. The owner walked around and made sure people were happy…. Once they moved it’s completely different. The vibe isn’t the same. We sat at the bar and were completely ignored for an hour. I begged them to order a drink and food. Bartenders wanted nothing to do with us, we tried to have a conversation and they walked away…. Cross this one off your list. Such a shame!

Best sea food I've had in a long time. Had the raw clams, chilled lobster, and drinks. Truly enjoyable.
