Lounge Elsewhere reviews
16First time at this place and it was great. Went to see Deerhoof live, which would have been awesome anywhere, but this space was perfect for it: the sound is great, it's not hard to get a good spot if you get on time (and even return to said spot if you have to go to the bathroom or the bar). It gets crowded but not uncomfortably so. Standing room only, but I don't see why you'd want to sit at a show like this.
Top 5 places to go in the city!
Really miss this spot!
I'm a member on Patron and can't wait to go back!
Great music and great vibes from like minded people
A few of the items from their online menu were out of stock. You have to order via app because of COVID-19, but that was super easy and straightforward. Cool view!
Pretty cool spot, nothing spectacular in terms of views given it's very unique location in Brooklyn, but I will say the chicken tacos were quite good, and the bartenders are super cool and friendly especially when you order shots in a group. One thing I will praise about this place is that I went on a Saturday night, and there was tons of parking. So whether you are taking a trip in using public transportation or driving in, you can reasonably expect to find some parking in front of the rooftop, or around the corner. If you're going for the views, don't expect to be too impressed, at the time I'm writing this review there is also a construction crane in the distance working on a nearby building, but you do get some pretty nice views of the city from afar. If you want the best views, I definitely recommend Long Island City, but this place is a pretty cool combination of convenience, good food, and easy enough parking and accessibility to major highways that I can definitely recommended especially if you are looking for a chill night.
First of all, I’ve never written a bad review but at this time it was a very disappointing experience.
The place make you think that you will have a line outside and strongly encourage you to make a reservation with a very strict cancellation policy.
You get there, it’s empty!
Second, they don’t offer you any table service (no waiters). You have to order everything from an App and take all your orders yourself get your food and drinks in disposable packages, which is ok (cups and cardboard boxes) - self service and charges you 20% tip (default).
Third, they over charge drinks in small cups instead of a normal size cocktail drink.
The menu online gives you more options and when you go there it’s not really the same. Fewer options.
Anyway, great for parties prior to the pandemic. Now, not really recommended.
Maybe when all of it passes.
Great time was had by all. Louie Vega and Crew moved the crowd, tropical drinks flowed and dancing ensued into the night.
Sound is ify, bad layout for actual use. Nice staff and regular cool shows make up for it. Watching the airplanes fly by all night was fun!
The bird and the bee were a.ma.zing! The staff were all nice. But quick reminder though your student ID doesn't count, you need a passport or sth if you're foreign.
And also no drinks whatsoever (even bottled water) is not allowed. Don't throw it away, just put it aside near the door somewhere sneaky and pick it up after the show!
Gets pretty crowded but if you Stan a good swell artist, the crowds are equally chill. 10 dollars for a can of rosè, sweet lil light show above the stage, sound is not as good as indoors I think but jamming is jamm'n.
Very nice and outstanding spot the staff are nice to talk to the only thing that I have an issue is the sound system it needs help the DB level is very high but overall nice place.
Had 3$bills and 4 quarters would not sell me a water. Went to used debit card, said I need to spend 10 bucks. Is it me? Is this the new norm? Jw, thank you but no thankyou
This rooftop is hands down my favorite "small" venue in all of New York City. Whoever designed it had an incredible creative vision and made an absolutely gorgeous space. Can't say enough good things. Hope it's here for many years.
Worst place I’ve ever been to. I asked 3 bouncers to go out and make a phone call, which they said was fine. Then when I tried to come back in they accused me of lying and trying to avoid paying. When a person at the ticket counter said he recognized me, the bouncers in question just looked away and refused to apologize to me for being so rude and aggressive. I ended up leaving 5 minutes later because I was so angry. The experience totally ruined my night. Never coming back here. They need to fix their attitude and learn how to respect women.
Enjoyed the vibe a lot. Everyone in the crowd seemed to be doing their own thing and really focusing on enjoying themselves, rather than a 'club' where everyone is focused on hooking up or trying to be noticed.
The DJ was also pretty good. I preferred the beginning and end, the middle of the show wasn't really for me.
Drinks were good, and the bathrooms are gender neutral.
Other: dancefloor up and downstairs. Coat check $4.2 bars and a nice in/out space to chill and get some air.
Went there for Everyday People! Great venue! Get you drink on the 1st or second floor, to avoid the crowd on the rooftop.
They have lots of space for isolated ear yoga.the bar tenders like it when you clap at them.also try the art room.made much gas in the movie room.also my apologies for mistaking the sink for for the urinal.
