Empire State Aerosciences Museum reviews
13A wonderfully dense historical museum! A must-see if you are a fan of naval aviation or aviation in general from WWI to Vietnam.
For a very reasonable cost ($6 senior, $8 adult), this is an excellent walk through air power history with historical displays of civil and military aspects, space program, Pearl Harbor attack with 30 ft.scale model of Japanese aircraft carrier and about 20 retired Navy and Air Force aircraft. Could spend an entire afternoon with this.
Such a cool place for a day trip, especially for the kids. I just wish they were open during the week so we could visit more!
I've lived nearby all my life and never visited. I'm glad I finally did. A great presentation of NYS aeroscience history.
Really amazing place, definitely worth your time. My girlfriend and I spent hours here. She isn't that into air science as I am but even she was wide eyed the whole time. A great place definitely check it out.
I would highly recommend this museum if you have any interest in planes of the Air Force. They have some really unique exhibits.
This museum is hidden from the main road.
It has 4 parts: 2 galleries, a hangar, and an outside area. Plan your day accordingly to avoid being outside during bad weather.
The museum is full of useful information and history. Many of the artifacts are easily accessible. Unfortunately the upkeep isn't very good. There are many things that are missing labels, have spelling errors, or are broken. Despite these shortcomings, this museum is still cool to visit. You can see many of the jets, planes, engines, and memorabilia close up.
Great place to learn about history but my kids (now older) still have horrible Memories form this place. 8 years ago they sat in one of exhibits which was suppose to replicate The sound and movement of a real airplane and it was extremely loud that it made them cry all the way home they were age 7 and 5 back then, I hope they got rid of that ride or at least give children headphones if it still exists.
My brother and I travelled a long way to get here only to discover the museum is closed. The website and lighted sign on the road both said the museum was open W-S but when I called the lady said they are only open on weekends.
It is pretty sad how the building was not taken care of, from our perspective. We visited the place based on the previous reviews and how people could get inside of the planes but everything was closed and even the hangar was closed. The price was the same but every interactive activities were not working. Meh.
Impressive museum! I never would have known how important this area was to aviation history. Outside of the exhibits, the graveyard was especially cool and really shows the history of fighter aircraft. Lastly, walking inside the C-130 was cool as well.
A great museum right in our town! So much history and our kids have a fun time every time we visit.
Stopped on the way home to NYC from Lake George. A little out of the way to get there, but it was well worth it. Much easier to get back on 87.
