Optometrist Empire Visionworks reviews
18Horrible experience. I told the provider I only needed a contact lens exam, (which is also what I scheduled when I made the initial appointment) they billed my insurance for a contact AND eyeglass exam even though the provider never mentioned they were doing both- which resulted in me needing to pay $80 out of pocket as my current insurance only covers one or the other. I had also clarified with the provider that I had an eye exam done for glasses less than a year ago when I had different insurance and that is why I did not need both prescriptions. When I called today to dispute that I was told that's "just how we do it" which seems extremely unethical to me as I had stated what I needed and what I didn't want and that was disregarded- I also have never in my life gone to an eye exam and had both done "just because" and if that is standard business practice- the provider should have absolutely been transparent with me when I had the initial conversation with her. I was also told that my trial contacts would be ordered and that was a month ago- they never came in and when I called about that I was told there was a "miscommunication" and the trial lenses were never ordered. Steer clear. In all my years of having eye exams I've never had anywhere near this bad of an experience.
Eye exam was thorough. Good variety of eyeglass frames. Progressive lenses were not good pattern for me. After 2 months squinting and tilting because the distance field was too narrow, I returned to RochesterOptical for good lenses. It was an expensive experiment.
When I picked up my eyeware at Empire, ther was no fitting process. I adjusted the nose bridge and stems myself.
I noticed on line that Empire offers two different types of progressive lenses but the salesperson never advised me of a choice.
Service is terrible the eye exam is the office manager. Was not informed about this when I made the appointment. Forget about calling this Visionworks direct no direct phone line! When you do call you get a automated operator. Very poor service.
Absolutely awful experience. Waited 45 minutes to be seen for my eye exam appointment and numerous others that came in after me were helped ahead. Finally got in to appointment and it was a tele-med appointment and I was never made aware that would be the case. Waited another half hour for the doctor to come online. Then once finished I had to sit in waiting room to wait until others in chairs were helped before I was able to simply get my prescription and leave.
Don’t bother unless you want to buy overpriced glasses straight from them. They refused to take my pupillary distance because I didn’t want to buy their brands of glasses. What a waste of an eye exam to get a prescription you can’t use.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The rep I was trying on frames with made a suggestion that I would've never chosen on my own that I love and think look very flattering! Left with 2 pairs of glasses and new contacts. Great experience.
The Lady when you first call is a pain it kept getting my last name wrong then they transfer me to an staff and. I ask if they will be ready next week or the week after and she just hung up on me
I like the optometrist, she has 20 years experience, knew about the damage sugar can do to eyesight re: diabetes, diet. Nice workers all around.
Leslie, Steph, Dave and Eric were all incredibly welcoming and nice when I arrived, they helped me set up an appointment and also made it very comfortable to be in there. They have a forever client!
Leslie at the Greece store #1090 was absolutely wonderful! She’s friendly, she worked hard to help with my insurance issues and overall a very nice person! She’s moving to the Webster location and I’m going there to work with Leslie on getting myself a pair of prescription sunglasses.the BoGo deal is amazing!
Exceptional service getting my eyes checked for the first time in many years. Technology was very modern and the “eye poof” was a breeze! Amanda was very helpful with logistics, insurance and helping pick out my first ever pair of glasses. Dr. Joe’s bedside manner was on point and he made me feel very relaxed and informed. Thank you for making my most recent eye appointment a 5 star one!
Everyone was extremely friendly & personable! I was having problems with my vision recently and didn't think any offices would be open because of COVID, but even with that going on, everyone was very professional and it was honestly one of the quickest doctor's appointments I've ever had. They unfortunately didn't take my insurance (found that out afterwards) but the exam was pretty cheap. I may switch vision insurance just to be able to go back to here! Would highly recommend - both the tech (I can't remember her name but she was super bubbly and nice) and Dr. Van Cura were awesome!
I purchased my glasses from empire visionworks and I couldn't be happier. Paula was awesome to deal with and I was very informative and knowledgeable. I will be back for all my future glasses needs and I highly recommend paula and empire visionworks.
I’ve been in the Webster office several times over the past 3 years and don’t find them to be very warm or friendly, they could use a class or 2 on customer service. My family has gone there for a long time, it might be time to look for another optometrist.
Visionworks Webster, NY. You will NOT find anywhere in Rochester that is so willing to make sure your prescription is 100% correct and that you are 100% happy with your vision. I have worked tirelessly with Jenika and Dr. Kenny, have tried close to over 10 trial lenses for my left eye, have made over 15 trips to the store and we have finally got my left eye prescription correct for contacts.its a long story but they stuck with me throughout the whole process and I can' t thank them enough. They are a true team effort from Amanda (store manager), Jenika (contact lens specialist), and Dr Kenny. Visionworks Webster is the definition of Customer Service! Please ensure that all parties mentioned receive recognition for their efforts.
Vision works was extremely helpful with my 10 year old getting his first pair of glasses. They were ready quickly and they took the time to fit him properly.
Says a wait list but are a bit rude but other than that ig it's a good place even though last time I was here they were completeco rude
They are amazing. My song broke my only pair of glasses. I called them they told me to come in and my frames were replaced for free. Everyone is always so friendly here and willing to help out and answer questions. The best place to get eye glasses is right here in webster! With having 2 kids they have hours that range so even the busiest of people can come in and leave feeling amazing!
