Excel Urgent Care of New Hyde Park, NY

Friendly staff but appointments are rarely adhered to. Usually taken in 20-30 minutes after appointment time and then another 20-30 minutes waiting in room for a covid test. I’m there weekly and my average time spent there with an appointment for a 10 minute covid test is 50 minutes.

I made an appointment for a flu shot because I didn’t want to have to wait long. When I got there I learned that my insurance didn’t cover it and I had to pay $25. I figured I was already there, it was only $25, and it shouldn’t take long. Boy was I wrong. Despite the appointment, I had to wait 40 minutes. They put me in a room for about 1/2 an hour. I was so annoyed. What’s the point of making an appointment? I won’t be going back there.

It's pretty pathetic that this clinic makes you wait an additional 30 minutes after a covid test to be seen by a "PA" whose only job is to tell you the test turnaround time. Actively engaging in shady tactics like that just to make an extra buck is utterly disrespectful of patients' time and puts medical professionals to shame. Do better, Dr. Varughese.

I went to another urgent care on Franklin square, I walk away as I did not feel the professionalism, so I left to go to this urgent care, I was welcomed when I entered the room, the Dr V was good she walked me through what she was about to do, I will always use this urgent care when ever needed.
I also will always recommend them to my family and friends

Polite and friendly staff. Front desk girls, doctors assistant and PA were very pleasant.
PA walked in to the room greeting me with a big smile.
No doubt this is one if not the best urgent care i have visited so far.

Even though they except walkins you still have to make an appointment do to the influx of possiblw covid patience that want to get tested. But i do highly recommend this place there staff is friendly and Dr's are very good and knowledgeable

I came to urgent care today because I felt I had little stone in my finger because I had fallen 10 days prior and my think it wasn’t getting any better. PA told me it was I don’t know if he mentioned a word which I took as a scan. And I kept telling him it’s not a scab it hurts when I touch it but he kept insisting that he gave it another name erase or something. All right he told me he would give me antibiotics and I told him I didn’t need antibiotics I just wanted this thing taken out of my finger because I couldn’t do it it was very very small. Needless to say he didn’t take it out I refuse the antibiotics. I felt I didn’t need them I came home and took two tiny little stones out of my finger. They were underneath each other. My fingers feeling fine there’s no pressure the redness went away the swelling went away. Just to let you know

Went for a rapid COVID-19 test. Did not have an appointment, but only had to wait a few minutes. Everyone was quite friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

This place doesn't honor appointments. They will take walk-ins the same as appointments. We scheduled our appointment for 10 am, only to find a line of folks waiting. Only thing our appointment allowed us to do is wait inside instead of in line. We waited for 30 mins, then asked how much longer, lady just said "you have to wait your turn, we have a lot of walk-ins today". Waited another 15 mins, asked how much longer, they said another 30-45 mins, so we ended up leaving.

This facility is a pathetic excuse for a medical practice. The front desk staff conduct conversations about their dating lives while patients wait to be checked in. On a recent visit, I arrived 20 minutes before closing time for a Covid test. The doors were open, but the lights were off; the receptionist was on a personal call, and I was told that they were closed. When I asked if I could speak with the doctor, she said no, her computer had already been shut down. This, during a national pandemic. Either you see patients until the closing time stated on your door and website, or you don’t post a closing time on your door and website. Don’t waste your time or your money at this place.
