Fairway Market 86th Street reviews
15So obvious u have employees, walking the store watching who may be stealing from your store, u need to watch your employees they r stealing, and u need to hire the right person for the job.
I bought chop meat on Friday, left it in the fridge and come Monday it was a blob of brown disgusting meat.
Frozen meat for color reference.
My hand for color reference
Only place in town I could find last minute fresh pomegranate for our traditional Rosh Hashanah dinner.
Nice big supermarket in the middle of the Upper East Side. Good collection of steaks (not cheap), fish and other meats. You will pretty much find every grocery item you need in this place. Avoid it though on busy shopping days because the lines can be long.
I believe there is a new delivery service at the 86th Street store, and it is just horrible. It can take four hours for your food to arrive, and items that should remain cool/cold are in bad shape by the time they finally get to you. It is also very inconvenient to have to wait around that long for the delivery to arrive. When you try to investigate what is going on, no one picks up the customer service line at the store itself even after repeated calls.
I like the huge coffee selection and seeing the bakery machines back to work again.
Check the dates on everything. Things sit on the shelf here much longer then you'd expect.
Store employees are very helpful.lines seem long but it goes fast thanks to self check out.
Great assortment of international products.
I love this store extremely. I go into get their choice meats, GrassFed, which are very succulent. I purchase their organic produce. I recommend this store to everyone.
This grocery store has great sales, which change every Friday (Friday-to-Thursday cycle).
However, the in-store labeling on the shelves matches the advertised sale prices only about half the time, if they're in stock at all. When items are rung up, some will not automatically have the sale price, so you'll have to pay attention and tell the cashier. If that doesn't work you have to bother customer service staff which is helping the self check-out customers; in that situation there is a specific LACK of courtesy given to you when asking for the advertised price.
Good deals are awesome to have here; but Fairway 86th St hasn't figured out a way to match the advertisements to the shelf prices and to the cashier ring-up price.
Bought steak, came home, realized it was rotten. Returned it, bought chicken, went home realized it was rotten.
Never buying meat here again
Their cashier is very pleasant and entertaining to customers. I really loved this store! I trusted this grocery store in our town because they have all I need when it comes to groceries.
I love going to fairway. Lots of international and dietary products to explore plus if im lazy to cook i just buy cooked food from fairway. Its my favorite go to place for a one stop shop of almost anything i need and want for my pantry and household necessities. Plus it closes late in the night.as a medical person.it really is a plus for fairway to be open till late night.
Still has an excellent selection of products. Service has collapsed during the pandemic. Checkout has become an embarrassment. I hope they put their act back together post-COVID.
Very confused at night weather is closed or open or how to enter? Anyways.home to the not so many juices and plenty of olive oils. I have a hard time finding my favorite tea or lemonade but olive oils seem to be important. Can someone please fire the sushi guy. If you see the neighborhood sold out of sushi and you still have at night there a reason. Sushi feels like your eating a machine made conveyor belt food. They need to take a lesson from whole foods which carries better sushi.
I will tell my friends and family about this experience! I also observe that the place was very tidy and organized. I really want to come back here again! The moment that I went to your wonderful supermarket, one of your staves helped me to find the vegetable area and I could see that he was very dedicated to his job. Thanks a lot!
