Fanelli’s Cafe reviews
16Only reason this is 4 stars is because of the age of the establishment. We found it charming, but it might not be the decor/atmosphere for everyone because it’s not super new or updated. With that said, we found the experience to be wonderful. It’s a bustling spot in the heart of SoHo with a terrifically friendly and efficient staff. It was a perfect spot for a quick lunch between shopping and museum stops. The food was hot and delicious, clearly prepared to order. It seemed to be patronized by locals and neighborhood types which speaks well of a restaurant in an area with as many restaurants as SoHo.
Restaurant in the center of Soho with American food. Very generous portions with different types of salads, sandwiches, pasta, accompaniments such as onion rings, …. The service is super friendly and they serve very quickly. It's worth the wait if there's a bit of a queue. They have tables inside and also on the street, both very suitable options.
Total dump. It's clear the owner is checked out and no longer putting any money into the place. Everything is worn out and dirty. The staff are miserable. My french fries were so soggy. I could eat them with a fork like spaghetti.
My longtime favorite for an after work drink. Friendly service. Excellent beer selection. No fine dining but a number of healthy (and less healthy) bar snacks which are always tasty. Unique atmosphere and acceptable noise levels that make conversation possible.
Great atmosphere and the food and service were great! Wife and I both had burgers last night and a load of fries we real enjoyed it. We sat down quickly and we’re greeted with a friendly staff.
Food is A1. Server is A+. Atmosphere: C- why? No music. It became a errie feeling when there was nobody talking at time then heading other people's conversations was are to tune out.
Beer: cold
Prices: good
Food: where’s the salt? Burger and fries felt a little oily and flat. Will try more items in the future though and update the review
Super wow! Historic restaurant with a typical late 19th century wooden counter, the walls are covered with vintage photos of boxers. The cheesecake with cream and strawberries was super good!
If you’re looking for some old New York nostalgia, search no further. This place is it! I was lucky enough to have lunch here with a local friend who said the decor and menu hasn’t really changed too much since they opened and that’s why people keep coming back.
I had the fish and chips which was phenomenal. They don’t shy away from a decent portion either ;)
Service was friendly and prompt too!
One of the drinking institutions in Soho that everyone have taken picture of the store name neon sign outside. This place have very nice atmosphere where a cross demographic mixes of crowd hang out. You never know who you are going to meet there but mostly, you'll be able to start a conversation with anyone next to you if you have an open mind and friendly demeanor. The drink and foos prices are reasonable for the hood it's in and the staffs are very friendly and stylish. It's a has a trendy but unassuming crowd.
Look at the liquor licenses hanging in the back room going back to the 1800’s! Starting point for the famous nyc 100 year old pub crawl since the ‘90’s
Excellent customer service amazing soups and great foods. Try all the soups and the salmon
The takeout service is the worst, even though you tip, it's the second time I've gone around noon, I make an order, it takes a while. 45min in a hamburger, there is no one to dispatch the order and in the end you eat your order cold.you ask two or three times at the inside counter and they send you to wait outside for someone to show up.also I add bacon to my order they recharge me but they didn't put it …how unpleasant it is as if the Payment for those who eat there is more important than those who order to go.
Works great as both a low-key or high-key spot. Good for drinks. Good for food. Good for people watching. Always a great option.
Came here with a bunch of coworkers on a Friday. The bar tender was simply put miserable. She had zero desire to be warm and welcoming. My first round of beers were $26 and I gave her $40 told her to keep the change. Ordered a few more rounds tipping in between.
You'd think that with the large group of us being friendly and good tippers she'd have a great evening. My final straw was when I ordered a hotdog with fries and a Guinness. She tells me it's $26 (this is an old picture. The hotdog went up to $11.00) so I may have had a few drinks but I wasn't incoherent. I go, I ordered a hotdog with fries and a Guinness. The Guinness is $8, hotdog and fries $11, how is it $26? She says the fries. I go, the fries are included. She's like. No they're not. So I look at the menu, under sandwiches is my hotdog. I literally say to her "$11 for a hotdog? "
Her answer? "I don't make the prices"
Done. This place has zero ambiance, they couldn't care less if we show up with a party of 30 people that all tip heavily since we're all in The customer service industry as well
No problem. I pay my tab and leave after I finish my final round. Last time I'll set foot in this place again.
