In these extraordinarily difficult times, we are so grateful that burial of our beloved Uncle Don had been pre-arranged with Farenga Funeral Home. Although ordinary funeral and religious services were not possible in the midst of the COVID crisis; from my initial phone call to the cemetery burial one week later, Farenga's staff were as accommodating and sensitive as conditions would allow. We are deeply grateful.

When my grandmother passed away from natural causes during the COVID-19 pandemic, we were terrified we weren’t going to find a funeral home could take her in. Gus, along with his team, picked up and took care of my grandmother and stayed in touch with us the whole time. Trust that they will care for your loved ones and treat them respectfully.

Farenga funeral home did an excellent job with helping my family lay to rest our beloved 97 year old aunt. She passed away in March during the heightened time of so many lives being loss due to COVID-19. It was hard to find a funeral home that could assist us. Thankfully, when I called Farenga they were able to immediately help us. I was unable to get to the funeral home to pick out a casket and had to trust their description of the options that were available. We were able to have a small graveside burial the next week. When I saw the beautiful white casket with the silver handles, I was very pleased. We will forever be thankful to the Farenga funerals home for helping our family get through a very difficult time.

Farenga funeral home did an extremely professional job with the funeral of my loved ones. It was a beautiful viewing, the logistics to the crematory was well-conducted, and the staff was friendly and professional throughout the process. In particular, John, our funeral director did an excellent job of walking us through what we needed to do and helping us through every step even helping us get flowers for the viewing. From the first phone call you place to Farenga Funeral Home, you feel the respect and support that each of their staff offer during your difficult time. All of the arrangements were planned efficiently and the staff was pleasant, experienced, helpful and accommodating. This home made a difficult situation even worse. My son passed away in NY; I live in Texas. I started making arrangements from my home after Richard at Farenga convinced me it would be the best place for my son. We agreed he would take care of my son, order prayer cards and identify possible locations to scatter his ashes. We agreed to meet in person the following Monday before my son's funeral on Tuesday. On Monday Richard was not there and no more be knew why I was there. Eventually Tom found my file. Nothing Richard promised had been done. Tom said he would take care of it and have everything ready when I arrived about an hour before my son's visitation the following day. Arrived on Tuesday - no Tom, no Richard. A third person found the file, collected payment and made the prayer cards in house since neither of the previous two had prepared them. That was two weeks ago. To date no one has offered an explanation or an apology for not completing what they promise send or for being such unavailable for meetings they scheduled. I hope no one else ever has to deal with these unprofessional and insensitive people.

My family and I can’t say enough about the compassionate, caring, respectful, and friendly staff of Farenga Funeral Home. They made a very difficult and challenging time easier to handle. Every member of the team went above and beyond to make us comfortable and greatly exceeded our expectations. Every detail was meticulously handled. These days it’s difficult to find the exemplary personal customer service that we received at Farenga Funeral Home. Always a pleasure working with a family-owned and operated local business. The Funeral Home inside and out is immaculate and very comfortable. Having a parking lot is extremely convenient as well. In the future, our family would have no hesitation calling on Farenga Funeral Home again should the need arise.

They are truly professionals and I could not have asked for better service. Their genuine care and concern cannot be expressed in words Please note that the service provided to me at the Farenga Funeral Home - Astoria New York far surpassed that, that was rendered by Frank Campbell in New York City, when I assisted my Mother in a memorial service for one of her former employers, a New York City socialite. They can only be described as the best of the best. Farenga funeral home and its' staff provide dignified, respectful, service I highly recommend them and believe them to be the best funeral home in Queens County. It is family owned and operated which I think makes all the difference. The Antonopoulous family is extraordinary. What an amazing team! Every aspect of our service was perfect and well handled. We were treated with the utmost respect and every member was so sincere. The staff made our grandfather look great as if he was peacefully sleeping. We were so grateful to be taken care of in these difficult moments. We just recently buried my mother and I have to say that Gus went above and beyond to accommodate my family. My mother looked absolutely beautiful in her coffin and the attention to detail was just amazing. It brought me so much comfort. They even went so far as to play my mother's favorite music! I recommend Farenga 100%. They made a very upsetting time so much more tolerable.

I would highly recommend this funeral home. Gus and his staff are phenomenal! They are truly lovely people who care about their customers!

I would encourage you to look elsewhere. My opinion is that they are way overpriced. That's just my opinion. Get quotes from other funeral homes to compare.

We just had my father's funeral here and we could not have been more pleased with the services provided. Gus (the owner) saw to every detail, the space is warm and tasteful, and the procession/service all went very well.
