Farook Halal Food reviews
11Amazing food, but I wish the experience was more personal. Would love to get to know Farook better. He is important to me.
From the happiest of days to the darkest of times, Farook has never failed to serve me a delicious plate of chicken over rice. When the dining hall was closed after I woke up from a 9 hour procrastination nap, Farook was there to serve me. Thank you for everything, Farook.
My absolute favourite halal cart in NY! After visiting for the first, I couldn't resist going back again and again. Most delicious food, sauces, sides and great combos.
Delicious variety of food (especially chicken over rice), excellent price, and very nice service. Excellent food for busy NYU students nearby.
What a guy.and his amazing food. For 5 dollars you can get completely full! I recommend getting the combo (chicken and lamb over rice) with extra white sauce and red sauce
Best halal cart bar none. $5 you get protein, rice, curried potatoes and a drink and the quality of the food is amazing! Tasty as hell
Great value like many of the other 14th street halal carts, and imo has more flavor than the others. People say their lamb is low grade, but it is a much higher low-grade lamb cut than many other halal carts
Most delicious chicken and rice I've had, AND you get pita and a soda for $5.00! You can't go wrong with this cart. I wish I could give it 6 stars!
Pro tip: the drinks aren't self-serve. He'll ask you which one you want once your food is ready.
Let me make this easy for you: Lamb over rice, PLUS pita AND A DRINK FOR ONLY $5. Find a better deal in this city, in this state, in this country. It's pretty impossible. The food is good, the man (Farook) is even better. Try it yourself; then go back to spending $7+ for halal.
I've been to a lot of halal places.but one is just different on so many different aspects. The level of customer service is truly impeccable, and the ingredients are distinctively fresh and tasty. A must-go if you pass by Manhattan
This food cart uses low grade meat (lamb is very spongy, etc) and only has the very base vegetables (lettuce) but not things like pickles, peppers, etc. I think the only reason this is graded so highly is because it is right outside of NYU and thus has students rating it and because of the price. It is fine for drunk food but is not quality food (which explains $4 with free soda pricing).
