Fellow Barber - SOHO reviews
19Fancy, expensive, so try the Pay What you can option. That's the only way I can afford this place. I appreciate it!
Great cut had a professional cut done here and it came out great. Plus didn’t leave covered in hairs.
Have been going regularly for the last 2 years for a haircut with Eliran - he is truly awesome! Best barber I have found in NYC by some distance.
Soren is a great barber with high attention to detail, commitment to his craft, and executes with quiet professionalism.
Lovely place, everybody working there is kind and friendly. They do everything they can to make you feel comfortable, and if you leave with something you don't like they'll graciously fix it free of charge.
Easily the worst haircut experience ever. Needed a trim on short noticed so saw this location around the corner, decided to try it out.
First asked for a caesar - I barely have any hair to begin with, $55 dollars. I can live with that, place looks semi-respectable.
Then, we get to the haircut itself. I intentionally ask, for the simplest haircut possible to reduce any complications - no line up, no blade, slight tapper, shave my face. We found a way to screw that up - there were about 3 shades of hair on the top of my head and the man did a hack job on the back of my neck, resulting in the worst bumps I've ever received from a haircut.
First time I needed to schedule a visit to the dermatologist to make sure it didn't get infected.
While this problem is likely isolated with my barber, I will never step foot in this location again. Basic cleaning and hair trimming skills are clearly not required.
I had a haircut with Emily. I felt she did a good job with the haircut itself (hence two stars), but she was incredibly curt and did not come across as friendly at all. It felt as if her ego was running my haircut. I have been to Fellow Barbers before and have always liked it but I have never had an experience as bad as the one I had with her. I would not recommend scheduling with her.
I have been coming here for years and Emily is an absolute gem of a hairdresser - and a human! She has seen me thru so many of my life's ups and downs and I always leave looking great and feeling good about myself. 10/10 always the best experience, I wish I needed my hair cut more often!
Had a late Saturday appointment and was generally disappointed with my haircut. Felt that the barber rushed through it and did a similar job to what I could’ve received for half the cost.
EDIT:
After an initially poor experience (2/5). Management reached out to address my concerns. I truly appreciate the customer centric focus and desire to make things right.
Got sheared like a sheep. Horrible cut from the barber and extremely bad and snooty service from the front desk person.
A great regular reminder why I love this city so much. Outstanding vibe in this place, really welcoming, and the staff is all really sweet. I'm usually pretty particular about my hair, but after chatting with Emily C about it for a few minutes beforehand I was like, right you know what you're doing, do what you think is cool. And she did, and I've been going to her ever since. 10/10,5/5 whatever, this is the spot.
Norman messed up my hair so bad. I’ve never had a haircut experience like this. He couldn’t do a simple fade and cut off 2+ inches of the top my hair when I asked for. 5 inches off. He also spilled hair all over me when taking the apron off and told me I had a bumpy head for no reason lol.
The receptionist did refund me right away which was great but definitely don’t get your hair cut by Norman
I've been working with Emily Clark for years, and have multiple friends who have become regular customers of Emily, too. She is communicative, friendly, and has the skills to recommend then execute any style. The shop in SoHo is well-run, clean, inviting, and located in a great part of NYC.
This should be a place for people to go, relax and enjoy the service, not a place to feel stressed and to please barbers’ egos.
Worst customer experience ever!
I run out even before starting!
Really not recommendable and to avoid at all costs!
I recently had an appointment with Eliran as a first time client of Fellow Barber, and I was very happy with the cut. Eliran started the appointment by talking to me about the the style I wanted and provided some suggestions based on his experience. He then got to work on the cut straight away. He’s a nice guy with good conversation too, and I highly recommend him if you are looking for a new barber. I’ll definitely be seeing him again going forward!
Eliran M.is a total pro and highly recommended. Not only will you consistently get a great haircut, he will make you feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the experience.
I followed Eliran for years. He gave me every haircut in the book from short to long to covid long.love them all and that hot towel neck massage at the end.
I had a great experience at the Fellow Barber SoHo location. Great conversations could be heard throughout the shop. Rita attended to me. She was receptive to what I was requesting and informative about what I could do to achieve my desires for my hair. I will be coming back here for my next service.
Had a cut with Jeremy today. Hands down the best haircut I’ve very had. Would definitely recommended this place!
