Fiam Guitars reviews
19I brought them an inexpensive P Bass to fine tune a jazz bass neck swap and they dialed it in beautifully. It plays and and looks great couldn't be happier. Thanks fiam.
The kid's a genius. Best setups I've ever had and he's built two of my favorite guitars I own. Hated to see him leave NYC - haven't found anyone that's on his level since.
Great place and great luthiers with a really cool vibe. I’ve searched far and wide and they’re the best guitar shop in the Hudson valley!
An amazing shop as well as an exciting new Hudson Valley innovator! Great work on a restoration of a 1980 guitar. Awesome custom guitars made right here in the USA. Great experience all around.
Best guitar repair and modding shop in the country.
Izzy is a real master in everything he does, cannot say enough about his work, talent and personality. We at South Shore Guitar Boutique, NY trust FIAM guitars for all of our high end guitar repair needs.
Izzy has worked on my 1984 Guild F-50,1976 Les Paul Deluxe and my 1965 Gretsch Country Gentleman.
All of these guitars were a disaster. Izzy brought them back to life. Outstanding work!
I also have a Pine Tele that he built which I absolutely love.
I highly recommend Fiam Guitars!

Izzy and the guys over at Fiam Guitars have been my trusted luthiers for over 20 years. Whether it be a basic setup on your cheapest guitar, or more complex work on your most prized vintage piece, they dedicate equal care and attention to every job. I can not recommend them highly enough.
I have only good things to say about this luthier. I came into his shop with two massive cracks in the top of my acoustic, and he got it playing perfectly again within a few days. The repair work was stellar, and the much-needed setup he added on top fixed a lot of the issues I had been having before the top cracked and made my guitar feel like it was brand new. He's also just a really nice guy-gave me a very fair price and some great advice on dealing with guitar maintenance and repair as well as a lesson on playing in DADGAD tuning. Overall, I got a great repair with great customer service for a very fair price.
Izzy is the best. Everyone who knows him knows that. I've known Izzy since his days at Rudy's (Manhattan's premier location for guitar repair work). I bought a Ronin off him when he was building those and I love it. He's humble, but I won't be. This guy's work is sought by some huge artists. I'm not sure if listing all the names here would somehow get him in trouble - so I won't.but bigger than big. I've known about some of the absolute wealthiest, top level guys in rock and country. They could go anywhere and they go to Izzy.and go out of their way to ship him stuff huge distances, rather than find someone more local. That's my real testament here. I'm not sure that my opinion of good guitar work matters, its the love for his work I've seen in others that I should attest to. When I lived in NYC, and would meet others in his shop, everyone would talk behind Izzy's back about how awesome his work and knowledge is. We all recommended him to our friends -and once somebody went to him for the first time, they never went anywhere else. You can trust in Izzy. He's been at the top of the game for a long, long time. Glad to see him starting this new chapter with Fiam.
I have had Izzy Lugo from Fiam Guitars as my repair guy for all of my guitar needs for about 20 years now. He is the ultimate guitar tech who has worked for some of the biggest names in the biz since his tenure at Rudy’s Music in NYC and with good reason. His attention to detail is off the charts. He’s built guitars for me as well as given loads of TLC to all of the guitars in my collection from vintage to brand new and always makes them play and sound perfect for my style. He is very accommodating to all of his clients needs and I am betting you will have a big smile on your face when you get your guitar back after he has used his magic on it. He never overcharges either and is quite reasonable with his rates especially considering the quality of the work. Look no further if you are looking for a qualified professional to work on your guitar or bass.
When I was stumped over an issue with my own Guild 12 string, my man Izzy Lugo knew exactly what to do to fix it. This is the guy luthiers go to for help. Do not hesitate to bring your instrument to these guys. It won’t be better anywhere else!
Izzy is to guitars what an old Italian grandma somewhere in the depths of Tuscany is to pasta. He just knows his stuff in this mystical type of way. There’s a reason he has the reputation that he does. Have gotten both new guitars from him and had him work on old ones I’ve had as well. Equal parts mensch and wizard.
An EXCELLENT Boutique Guitar builder now right here in the Hudson Valley! They build some of the highest quality, best playing and uniquely different guitars on the market! Their necks are amazing!
Vinnie is the ONLY Guitar Tech that I trust with repairing or modding my guitars, his attention to detail and service is the best and Izzy and Phil are fantastic Luthier's.
Welcome to the Hudson Valley, Fiam Guitars, I look forward to working with you guys in the future! Charvel Guitars East!
I’ve entrusted Vin with all of my guitars for well over 25 years now. From his days working at The historic Rudy’s on 48th street to now at Fiam Guitars, Vin is the absolute BEST and can handle any guitar repair or build with ease. Finding someone of his caliber Is not an easy task and certainly will not find anyone better in The Hudson Valley.
I've had Vinnie working on my instruments for the last 15 years. I wouldn't trust anyone else with working on my stuff. From the weird and obscure (Novax 8 string Charlie Hunter model), to the straight up (Fender Classic Player Strat), to the sensitive (all sorts of acoustic instruments), he's been able to wrestle my instruments from the jaws of death time and time again with incredible attention to detail and the utmost care. I cant say enough about this luthier and his new venture. Rest assured, whatever you're having done from this shop will result in the highest quality outcome possible. Go Fiam!
Izzy is a top notch NYC guitar luthier and repair specialist. If you demand the best work on your guitars, look no further than Fiam Guitars.
Izzy Lugo knows guitars & stringed instruments better than anyone I’ve ever met and takes the time to know what his customers needs and wants are, then carries out the work with ease. After many years searching for the best tech for my needs, I found the right guy. There’s no tech or Luthier I trust more to get the job done both correctly, with integrity and in a more than reasonable time frame; especially from a builder & restorationist as talented as him. I sold my three most prized instruments a 66 Fender Telecaster, 64 Jaguar & a 62 Jazzmaster to own two guitars fully built by Izzy under his company Ronin Guitars and am looking forward a third. Izzy was able to fix the my Tao T-Bucket, the first ever made (rare instrument) in 20 minutes while I watched, after many other guitar techs had tried solving the issue countless times (for lots of money) to no avail. I appreciate the work Izzy does and am a customer for life. Thank you.
Vin is the absolute best there is, He’s done a ton of Mods and repairs for me over the years and he has always exceeded my expectations. I wouldn’t trust my guitars with anyone else.
Hudson valley musicians, check these guys out! They can do amazing things for your instruments. Joe Hogan
