Fink's, Suffern NY

All these reviews on here and mediocre food at best for a BBQ joint. Service is very slow, zero attention, no refills no table touching. Definitely won't return. 2.5 star restaurant at best.

We ate here for the second time. I thought that my pork spareribs were a bit dry. I did enjoy my side dish - the sweet corn souffle (now that is something hard to find!). I really liked the brisket the last time that I ate here. My son-in-law loved his cheese-steak, and since I am from Philly, that is what I will have when I return. My wife and daughter loved the meat loaf and said that it is the BEST that they have ever had! They shared it with me (there was plenty of it), and I agree, it is exceptional. The atmosphere is laid back and this would be a nice place to catch a ball game- over by the bar.

Hands down, the best bbq spot in the area. First time I actually spotted this place was during peak Covid, summer 2020, while driving by and noticed their amazing dine out spot they made in their parking lot. Shame on me, took me more then 3 years to come back, but I did it last month and have been back one more time ever since. Their brisket that they freshly prepare to be available every day after 5: 30pm is just the best piece of bbq meat you will taste in a while. Brisket itself was more than enough good reason to come back. But their sides were also amazing (huge recommendation for corn souffle), their ribs are to die for. Also service is absolutely amazing.
Now when I want someone to taste a really amazing bbq, I've got a place to take them without thinking twice. Great job indeed!

Highly recommend Fink’s for at home catering. Myself and all my 28 guests were very happy with the delicious meal that was served. We ordered the half trays of Pulled Pork, Spare Ribs, BBQ Chicken, Beer Mac n Cheese, Bourbon Glazed Roots and the Cole Slaw. ALL was yummy and quantity was right on. Alex was easy to communicate with and helped guide me in the right direction. I don’t give five stars often but this was close. And the cole slaw was one of the bests I’ve ever had.

Stopped in for a bite around 8ish on our way down to PA. We got the loaded tots which were by far the best I've ever had. The flavor of the sauce or whatever they fried them in was an amazing flavor burst. For our mains, we got the beef brisket (no sides) and ribs/chicken BBQ with mash potatoes and collard greens. The first 3 pieces of the brisket were delicious but as I got to the pieces underneath, they were a bit dry and overcooked. The bbq sauce was delicious, tho! Sides were good and so were the ribs/chicken. We did decided to try the soufflé but it wasn't quite a soufflé. It was very heavy, served in a difficult dish to spoon out, and tasted a bit burnt.

Service wise, it was a bit slow. Took us a while to get our food. Towards the end of our meal when we were ready for the check, it took our waitress a long time to check in on us and give it to us. There were many people there so it wasn't like the place was bogged down with full tables.

Usually never come here and now I remember why, the food is mediocre and the service is terrible. When I went for dinner, there were two waiters and two bussers all about college level. We waited 10 minutes to get seated then after every single person kept leaving, there was about seven tables that they just left dirty, they didn’t clean any of them.
They ran out of turkey at 6 PM at night. Our waitress decided to up and go on break. We didn’t get any silverware and one of the guys were saying they ran out of knives and had to clean them then when they did clean them, they left sharp knives in front of my two-year-old.

The portions were very tiny. And the overall experience was just terrible. I won’t be coming back here again.

Beef short ribs was fantastic! Brisket was very dry and did not seem fresh when we had to wait for it since they don't serve it until 530p. Tried the sweet corn souffle but it was no souffle. It was over-cooked and it became corn bread. The service that Friday night (06-Oct-2023) was rather slow. It looked to us they were short handed although nobody provided an explanation. Most importantly - the place needs a LOT of cleaning. While we understand it's a BBQ place and should be casual, it should still be sanitary. The bad just outweighed the good in this instance.

I stopped here on the way home from an NY road trip. It looks like a hole in the wall type of place from the outside, but the food was excellent. I only had their chicken wings, but those were some of the best wings I've ever had in my life. I wish they were closer to me so I could keep getting them.

We had Finks help us cater a large event. Everyone absolutely raved about the quality of the food and their delivery driver / catering manager was incredibly accommodating and perfectly on time. They helped us throw a fantastic party, we would highly recommend them!

It was 3.5 stars for me. Previously (2019?) I really enjoyed the BBQ buffet (would give 5 stars) but ordering a la carte just isn't the same experience. Also, on a recent visit the service was slow, and I did not enjoy the food as much.

First time, at 41 years old, I ever left no tip. When we arrived we sat at the bar and after 15 mins the space was finally cleared, drinks ordered and menus offered. 10 mins later drinks arrived and order was taken. 35 mins later Luke warm food arrives and no drink refills offered. Bar tender walked by and if my wife didn't flag him we never would've had a 2nd round. Bar tender spent more time with his buddies at the bar. Can not stress how horrible the service was. We've been coming here and the dumont location for 10+ years and I can promise you we will not be back. There were literally 6 people in the bar area. If it was packed I would understand the horrible service.

If you like barbecue this is the place to go. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. They also have a nice selection of fancy drinks on their menu.

Amazingly delicious and incredibly creative BBQ dishes. The man is a Smokehouse mad scientist!

The location is infested with flies. I was told it was "just that time of year. " What do they expect me to only come during the winter then? Unacceptable for a professional establishment. Hire an exterminator or put up some traps, i didn't see a single trap but there were several flies flying around. They would land on my glass, on my food, on me! The flags and dividers had flies on them. Also a few dead ones that must have been there for a while.

When i found one in my gumbo, i complained. They took it off the bill and took the rest of my meal off as well but that doesn't make me want to come back. That was very unsettling and the closest I've ever been to vomiting from disgust. I still feel uneasy.

Very unfortunate since they was my favorite bbq place for years. The food is still delicious but the place is dirty. Service is ok, the waitress was very polite and apologetic but no sign of the manager anywhere. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Sad to see such a staple be neglected. Hopefully you resolve this issue, till then, I'll find a new bbq place.

Surprisingly good food! And plenty of it. You must be a meat lover. Friendly and fast service. A young man who waited on us also helped us out after dinner with a car problem we had. He was so helpful even after his duties were over.

Really random smoke house located on a service street. The place got filled up pretty quickly after 5: 30, I’m guessing because they have 2 menu highlights that don’t become available until after that. We started with the happy hour menu, where the food was more like sample size as opposed to a “special”. For our mains, I got the brisket, which was beautifully cooked and filled with Smokey flavor. The sides were in addition to the meal for $4/5 which drove the price up for this BBQ. I got the Mac and cheese and Cole slaw and really liked both. My boyfriend got the pork platter which he loved but admitted it was too much meat for one sitting.
