I came in to duplicate a simple key. The staff was friendly and did it quickly. All was well until I tested them on my door and realized that they did not work. It seems like the keys were just done incorrectly. I would not recommend this service.

Great service and my shoes looked great, even though they're pretty odd boots (Margiela Tabi and Ann Demeulemeester Crust Boots) with odd soles and heels.

I found the pricing very fair. If you're looking for the absolute cheapest rate (and cheap quality repairs), go elsewhere, but I found the rate excellent for the kind of work done. Was actually significantly lower than I expected for such a difficult boot; I'd actually worn through the bottom of the heel block too, which is time consuming and expensive to replace (even though it was stacked leather, you have to remove the nails that extend through the entire heel into the sole, then you have to match the height of the heel to what it originally was, and you have to carve it into shape and stain it with the original color. This info didn't come from the store as justification for the price; I knew how complex it would be when I brought it in.)

After a long show of his 'expertise', the man in the gold chain wants to charge over 200 to stitch a pair of black boots (the price of the boots). Recommend Mercer Street shoe repair, friendly, sweet couple, fair price ($65).

Update: 12 months since I repaired the boots at Mercer street for $65 and they are still in great condition!

The way this people work is horrible. This people placed nails on the cushion sole of the shoes, now nailed from the interior. Claimed the “cushion inside was not coming out” The nails are on top of the cushion sole inside the boots!
I’ll feel the top of the nails every time I walk?
Only very unprofessional people would do this horrible work. The bottom part of the boot was chipped and the repair guy offered me to dye the part so it won’t be visible.
$15 dollars per boot, to place 3/4 nails on each boot? $30 dollars total.
Expensive and horrible work.
Never coming back.

This place is the absolute best. They have SAVED multiple pairs of my favorite shoes and given them second lives.

What shoe repair store can't repair a rubber sole. Amazon has glue for rubber soles but not the shoe repair store. I asked for your service three times and each time you were unable to help. Amazon it is.

Worst service I've ever experienced. Inhumanly unfriendly for no apparent reason.on both occasions I've been there. Beyond that, the con artist with the gold chain necklace needs to put on a 5 minute analysis and Show of his expertise to tell you exactly why it will cost $120 to repair a pair of boots. A waste of time. I went to Mercer Street Shoe repair and was taken care of for $40 by the sweet couple there, who are always super friendly, and will be ready tomorrow. Mercer Street Shoe is at 295 Mercer – highly recommended.

I brought in a couple of shoes to get taps. They were affordable and quick. Will return to have work done on my boots.

My belts were shortened perfectly, rubber shoe taps were very inexpensive and quick to get, and rubber half sole protector soles are really helping me not slip on the streets, wooden and wet surfaces. Really recommend this place!

I will be recommending Firm to everyone I know! I wear my shoes hard and was hesitant to bring my Guidi boots to have the heels rebuilt because I have had bad luck at some other repair spots. I never write reviews but felt compelled to leave one because I picked up my boots yesterday and they have been beautifully & expertly rebuilt! Wow. I wish I would have taken photos of how ragged my boots looked before as a testament to their work. Magicians! Thank you!

Did fixes on multiple pairs of shoes that were well over $1000 each that ended up making the shoes look absolutely awful. Permanently changed in a way that can’t be fixed. As well as sloppy work all around, leather marked up all over after, lining ripped in another pair. Part of sole sanded off permanently altering shape.

Incredibly frustrated as they were both my favorite pair of shoes, now I hate wearing them. Nor can I easily afford replacements.

When brought in and the problems shown they repeatedly claimed there was “no way” they could have done this despite me having photos of them before clearly showing damage wasn’t there. No offers of any sort of refund.

Years ago I’d heard this place had a good reputation. But looking at recent reviews this type of thing seems to be a pattern now.

Excellent service and craftsmanship. Bring cash for the deposit, or pay in advance using alternate form of payment.
