Flatiron Tailor Shop, New York NY

Hope to save someone time, money, and their clothing - this place is the McDonalds of tailors, except for the price (close to $100 for one pair of pants). I gave them a pair of pants and they did a such horrible job the first time that I asked them to redo it. I'm 99% sure when I picked it up the second time that they didn't change anything. They have one person pin your clothes (with safety pins!?), and in the back behind the curtain they have a sweatshop of people tailoring. The person who pinned my clothes didn't even know which way to place the pin. Don't waste your time and money here.

Been using this tailor shop for a few years now and the few items I had them alter (not anything complicated) they've done a great job at a reasonable price. Do plan to continue using them and look forward to seeing how they do with more complex requests.

They did a phenomenal job taking in my 40th birthday gown. They were fast & professional. They did forget one detail I asked for, hence the 4 stars. But they sewed it on when I came to pick up the dress. Will definitely use them again!

Flatiron Tailor Shop is by far the best tailor in NYC. I have used them for several items in the past but recently, they helped tailor my rehearsal dinner dress. The dress was a very challenging task and they tailored it absolutely perfectly, even sewing in a 3rd layer of fabric to make it less transparent. They rushed the turnaround time, knowing I had a deadline for the dress. They are a real joy to work with and excellent at their craft - I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you, thank you for everything!

Initially took my tux for minor fitting changes. After I've been back several times both for my clothes and my wife's. The finishes are professional at a reasonable price. Customer service is top notch I've mostly talked to Ramon who is fantastic and knowledgeable even when I have no clue what I need adjustments on. I've never had a problem and the finishes are basically perfect I wouldn't know what was worked on unless I was shown. Would recommend time and time again.

Morning dress emergency & this team saved the day! I realized the slit in a dress I needed to wear for work was way too high and the team literally took the dress immediately and rush fixed it within 15 mins! I’ve also had another dress and a pair of jeans altered here and every time it’s high quality work at fair prices.

Ramon and the team did a superb job in altering my wedding dress. I had a few details I wanted to add to my dress and Ramon designed and actualized it in a beautiful way. They did a superb job with in short time while keeping attention to details within affordable budget. Highly recommend this place.

Charged me for multiple alterations to a cashmere coat but when I went to pick up the coat, it was obvious only 1 alteration had been made. When I suggested it still didn't look like it fit properly after spending $250, I was ignored. Took it home to measure the shoulders and sleeves that were supposed to be taken in and to no surprise there were no changes made. Brought it to a tailor in Hoboken who actually made appropriate alterations. There may be some great tailors at this place based on the previous reviews but it appears to be hit or miss.

Meh. 4X the price of any regular tailor with nothing special in the work. Didn’t really get my clothes the way I expected but ok

Great quality, service, and price. Been using these guys for years back at their 5th Ave location and new location around the corner on 22nd. Always do me right and when it’s a quick fix the might not even charge me. Can’t say enough about them!
