Flipper's Barbershop, Troy NY

Twice now I've gotten terrible cuts from them. I went yesterday and I was in there for no more than ten minutes. Didn't listen to what I told him at all - finger length on top, 5 on sides. Instead he proceeded to do a 4 on the entire head.
He then touched my beard, shaving away a HALF of my mustache to the point a section of it is a thin line.
On the neck he raised the beard line by a half inch on one side without touching the other.
By far the worst haircut I've ever seen and received.
Also beware, again they will touch-up your beard without asking, and then proceed to charge you an additional $10 on the $25 haircut.

I've been to this barbershop a few times before and I've usually had good experiences, but my most recent visit was a major letdown.

I had an appointment for 3 PM, and I got there about 10 minutes early thinking I wouldn't have to wait too long. Instead, they gave priority to a walk-in customer and I ended up waiting a frustrating 20 minutes for my turn.

Now, about the haircut itself, it was just awful. They trimmed the sides way too high, and I ended up looking like I had an egg-shaped head. I was so unhappy with it that I had to buzz off all my hair a few hours later. They tried to conceal the bad haircut with excessive hair product, but it couldn't hide the mess.

To make matters worse, the barber was rude. I don't mind small talk, but at least make it sincere. Instead, I got sarcastic responses like "awesome" or "cool, " which really rubbed me the wrong way. I would've rather just had silence at that point.

To top it off, they've jacked up their prices from $25 to $30. Considering the terrible experience, this price hike doesn't seem to align with the level of service I received.

Wow, this place is the bomb! Took my 3 boys after work for a before school haircut. I had just begged a cranky hairdresser at a different place for an appointment. My 13 year old son really wanted a Barber. So, I called Flippers and Johnny was so accommodating  and friendly that I canceled the other appointment  (Prices were exactly the same). This place has an amazing vibe, professional and stylish and a haven for dudes of all ages. My kids loved the sweet doggy that greeted and hung out with us.   Each Barber introduced himself and shook my hand and the boys. AND most importantly they all got the most fantastic  fresh and trendy haircuts. Thank you Johnny and Ed!

He listened carefully to my instructions, demonstrating not only his skill with scissors but also his dedication to ensuring his customers are satisfied. His proficiency in cutting hair is unmatched, providing me with one of the finest cuts I've ever had.

For questions outside of Omar's linguistic comfort zone, John is always on hand to provide advice and tips about haircare. His expertise and readiness to help contribute significantly to the overall customer experience.

True to any barbershop's essence, the banter is as casual and vibrant as any I've encountered, making for a lively and entertaining atmosphere. It's easy to feel like part of the family at Flippers.

On my subsequent visits, Omar has continued to excel in his services. To top off the superior haircut, he provided a Turkish massage and even cracked my neck - a first for me! The best advice I can give is to relax and let it happen. You'll leave feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the world.

Best barbershop in the area hands down! Been going here the past 2-1/2 yrs friendly environment family owned and operated. The quality of the cut you get is unmatched for what you pay. Highly experienced barbers highly recommend.

Listen if you’re not going to flippers to get your needs met, you need to! Had a rough experience at a different barbershop and I honestly assumed It was not repairable. Looked up other barbershops and stumbled upon Flippers. Called, got scheduled immediately, arrived at the location and got beyond phenomenal service. Flipper is very skilled, very welcoming, and very professional. Of course Dusty the pup was an added bonus! Safe to say this is my barber until I can’t grow hair anymore. Thank you so much!

I went here twice and both times were very Disappointing beard and haircut not good at all.

A delightful experience everytime I bring the boys to get haircuts. An old time feel with a welcome that shows that every customer is personal.

First experience going to the barber and it was a bad first experience I ask for an edge up it took him all of 4 minutes. I went home and my husband said I thought you were getting an edge up, you look the same when you left. The barber had the nerve to ask me for more money. Will never go there again.

The owner is a true gentleman and a master of his craft with a decade of experience to match. The customer service is consistent and friendly. Highly recommended!

Flipper's is by far the greatest barber shop I have ever been to. Johnny and his mother have a great business going. Always incredibly kind, respectful and professional. They have the sweetest dog ever, Dustie. Johnny does an amazing job doing just about anything with your hair. The barbers that he hires to work with him are equally skilled and professional, as well as friendly. These people were the first friends I made when moving to the area, and the first friends I told when I got engaged. I personally promise you will never leave their unhappy or disappointed. You'll leave with a fresh, clean cut, and a smile on your face!

I don't know the two gentlemens names but they were absolutely amazing and wonderful, they went above and beyond to help my children be so comfortable, they both did really well compared to other barber's who hurt and cut them, these 2 gentlemen I really appreciate them and my kids did as well they had fun with them, they were patient and kind and funny and very helpful, and the bonus is dusty was the sweetest ever definitely loved the dog so did my kids, best dog everrrrrrrr!

Best haircut hands down. They're worth the wait if you ever find yourself waiting; you'd be doing yourself a favor by booking an appointment.
