Food Universe Marketplace, Bronx NY

It's very small and tight spaces, there selection is limited in the sense you may night find everything outside of necessity but it is small that's why, a lot of the food seems to be close to expiration. Sadly I went to buy some plantain and it was black and breaking as I picked it up to elaborate for the co owner response. It is a friendly place but needs work. The prices are not good it's very expensive.

Has all your basic needs including hot foods, unfortunately not on Sunday but let's be real no one wants to be up on sundays lol

I live close by this supermarket, very convenient location for me. My only issues are the prices on some of the products. The Bronx is considered the most deplorable borough in NYC with a very high poverty rate. Food Universe needs to do something about the infiltration prices, it's too high for my budget!

Very nice staff. Sandwiches from the Deli are Delicious. Good and Fresh meats and reasonable prices. I like the supermarket there

Food Universe staff at 312 E194th street are wonderful. Always pleasant and helpful. When they see that I might be struggling with something, staff will always offer to help. The manager is especially helpful. Always asks me about my newborn son. The food is usually fresh and they have a decent variety of food tailored to this particular neighborhood. Only thing I wish they carried is Martin's Potato Bread. They usually have very good sales on items you eat daily. I would recommend this store to anyone. But just like every store, make sure you check the dates on your items. Sometimes food might be out of date. Bring it to the worker's or managers attention and they will usually correct it right away.

I dislike this place because we get the lowest grade of meats fruits and vegetables and we still pay some of the highest prices in the Bronx cereal in box's seem to be old in nature real sales are very few and almost never at the first of the month when people there retirement checks and other forms of incomes I wish we had a Costco in the neighborhood or a Walmart this area we would do much better. Thanks for allowing me to shear. A concerned customer.

They never have any sales they have the same prices as you’re buying something for my bodega the only thing they have on sale I can say is water

I just bought a Turkey and cheese sandwich and it was disgusting. The lady needs pointers in making sandwiches. My sandwich had 2 pieces of Turkey and 4 pieces of cheese. I asked for pickles and only 4 small pieces were there. $6.50 for nothing. Never Again.

This place was nearly burned down. For us, it's convenient and stock lots of options, although the place was cramped and has expanded and takes up half a block now. You can't go wrong with this market.

This super market doesn't even deserve a one star there meat is bad and has been for the past 9 months and every time I go there the owner is rude and he acts as if it's my fault that they sell bad meat they are very unprofessional and racist the only time they take you seriously is if you go off on them i'm looking to take this matter up with the board of health

They need to hire a MAN at the deli department. I ordered 3 items and the chunky female deli worker who called me mamita took more than 10 mins just to give me my salsalito pepperoni and mozzarella. She was prob making sure her nails dint get caught in the machine. Please i beg put a guy at the deli the guy wud have gotten it done quicker. I understand u hire regardless of the sex but you guys need to get someone at the deli who works more efficiently. Thank you

Prices are great, staff are ok. But importantly everything seems to be fresh love coming here. I would recommend.
