Foodtown of Frederick Douglas Blvd reviews
27A small community store, small clean and neat place to shop if you are ever in the neighborhood.
Food was good but the service was GREAT! Our server was excellent! Very attentive and friendly. He was a true pleasure!
The manager Nelson is very rude and prejudice. Every time I shop here he is always combating with a customer. The cashiers are always nice and helpful. Just yesterday while on line with my son telling him to watch dates on items (there was numerous occasions with outdated products and bad produce) Nelson jumps into my conversation and tells me "make sure you tell him that's everywhere". I told him why are you in my conversation. Yea but "make sure you tell him". He needs customer service training. I know this neighborhood needs a supermarket close but we shouldn't have to endure being mistreated.
Shopped at this location for 32 years. The original staff was friendly and helpful. Thru out the years this store show prejudiced, cheating prices, and self-packaging foods. Why as black people even are we shopping here? They don't cater to our needs. Take yourself our to the bronx warehouse. And i bet you will see their trucks over there. They are cheating you!
Usually have good luck w this location but I won’t be able to support it any longer as I recently learned an employee was fired right before Christmas during a pandemic for seeking legal help after being harassed in store by another employee! Now the store is completely avoiding her! Shame on you.
The is the neighborhood store. It's convienent.when they have what I want. That's a 50-50 chance.
My friends are always saying, "Milk! Yes! Omgg Foodtown of Frederick Douglas Blvd! " It's aiite. Nothing too crazy good.
Ice cream sandwiches are cool because the outer parts are macarons, which I love. The ice cream itself is good.
Street parking. But if you come here before 6pm, you can park in the lot behind the mexican restaurant that shares the same small street as Foodtown of Frederick Douglas Blvd.
I like this place is convenient. I stop here on my way home and pick up whatever I'm going to cook and I always leave out of this supermarket with two or three bags. They have good prices.
Prices are too high and the produce is usually bad. I pointed out several apples to a worker that were clearly rotten and the guy seemed very annoyed with me. I also showed him several other items that had moled growing on in. I decided not to get my fruit or vegetables here but unfortunately the taco shells I purchased were stale so I dont recommend this supermarket. The prices are too high for such horrible quality.
Only grocery store, where the word of God and gospel music is playing all the time. You can shop and get your praise on.
Prices are notably high and given the neighborhood they serve I think with businesses as essential as this, it's in bad form to conduct business with no intention of actually serving the needs of the community but with an eye towards serving the more profitable community that is seeking to replace those who are not in the position to afford the prices they are looking to change
Very well stocked very friendly and helpful staff. Club card saved me some money. Feels like home.
Some of the cashier are nasty, not much variety, prices are too high for the poor quality they offer.
I DON'T like to come here UNLESS I have to
A worker stole my phone once it fell off my wheelchair and it was caught on camera and she STILL denies it
I usually go to traders Joe or whole foods, but foodtown has some good veggies and juice on deck.
This Foodtown grocery store is very different than the other Foodtown grocery store's. Due to their belief in god, this grocery do not sell alcohol, nor do they sell tabacco. If they have music playing over the loud speaker it is usually christian music. The staff is very pleasant.
Very small and not well stocked store. In the store they blast Christian rock music so loud it makes the shopping experience challenging as its hard to concentrate.
This place has decent sales, ok pricing and is convenient for simple staple items.
Decent selection of groceries, lines might be slow, They play ridiculous religious fairy tale music here so wear earphones if you have any sense.
Dirty, many items have no price tag, some things are more expensive than at Whole Foods, the chicken I bought was just inedible. I don’t think I’ll shop there again, I definitely won’t buy perishable items. Two stars because I’ve seen stores much worse than this one.
I love the price of they're collards, mustard greens, and you can take your Recycles there cans, bottles and plastic bottles
