Forest Hills Indian Cuisine reviews
19One of the best Indian Restaurants I’ve ever visited. Their menu which includes Southern Indian dishes is extensive. The spinach or coconut soups are amazing. The food is perfectly spiced and they’re happy to adjust the “heat” to your liking. I love this place and highly recommend!
Decent food, price is reasonable and delivery was quick. Kinda like ordering Italian food from a Chinese restaurant, decent to get by, but nothing you would give your friends.
I ordered chicken tikka masala as I like it a lot but experienced worse taste ordering from here.
I love this place. The food is amazing! We've been coming here for years. Victor is very nice and kind.
The flavor was ok in the butter chicken however it was BOMBARDED with onions! Way too many to remove from the dish so I just ate it. Did not enjoy.
Forest Hills Indian Cuisine (formally known as Aaheli Indian restaurant) on Yellowstone Blvd in Forest Hills is relatively new and such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood! The food here is always fresh and delicious, offering both North Indian and South Indian cuisine.
Everything here is homemade! The menu also includes both vegetarian & meat options. This restaurant is such a gem in Forest Hills!
They offer free home delivery and open most holidays.
The rasam soup is amazing (mildly spicy, in a good way).
Victor and the staff are warm and friendly, creating a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere and vibe. They always accommodate my request for a plain yogurt lassi with no sugar and no salt which some other Indian restaurants don't offer as an option.
(I wrote this before the pandemic)
Both the lunch buffet and dinner are very reasonably priced plus they offer free delivery!
I love that they have fresh salad, nan, rice pudding and Indian sauces!
(Before the pandemic) The owner would sometimes offer free Tandoori chicken as an extra when dinning during the buffet hours.
Although I'm vegetarian, chicken tika masala and lamb are always part of the buffet. My family & friends have enjoyed it!
Furthermore, street parking is do-able with meters in front on Yellowstone Blvd or you can find free street parking on one of the side streets. It's also walking distance from Queens Blvd and the E/F express trains.
I highly recommend Aaheli, without reservation as a wonderful Indian food restaurant right here in Forest Hills.
This was the worst Indian food I’ve ever eaten in my life. Everything was bland. I ordered Queens chicken tikka Marsala and it was tandoori chicken. I had expected the creamy tikka masala or something like butter chicken.
The rice had zero flavor. Water has more flavor than their rice. NEVER AGAIN.
I've been going here for a long time. The food is delicious! Victor is a friendly host and a hard worker. I look forward to returning in the future.
Not worth the money. Foods are expensive and not the worth the money at all. I orded food and they didnt even give me the items they charge for. Never gonna order from this place.not worth 1 start
Delicious, fresh, authentic Indian food with a wide variety of options for a reasonable price. The chaat options are especially enjoyable. I would write more but I’m too busy eating the delivery from this restaurant that just arrived.
Choose the mild spicy for every dish. I picked the normal spicy one: it was way too hot. If you love spicy, try this place!
This place is absolutely amazing and authentic for many reasons. The owners are warm and friendly. Vikram the owner and the chef Harish were making sure we are happy with the food and the service. I am from southern costal part of India and the food what they serve is prepared with authenticity. Its a real good food and people. Highly recommended
Today ordered Lamb Madras and Vegetable Chettinad (Vegan) both are bitter and lamb was half cooked. I will never every order from here again.
Worst place, do not go here. My wife and I did a pick up order. My wife asked them to make the food a little spicy, they put so much spice that it literally burned our mouth. They literally overdosed every single entree we order with spice. We eat Indian food all the time. This is not the way you make food, if someone tells you to make something a little spicy they expect it to be a little spicy. People don't expect things to be so spicy that it burns their mouth. Its been 30 minutes and my mouth is still burning due to this food. Also the chicken tikka was under cooked, it was still raw inside. I called them and the guy told me he can't do anything that's how he cooks it. I eat Indian food every week of my life, never have I gotten food that was so spicy that it burned my mouth. Never going back here again. Waste of 63 dollars. Shaking my head.
I honestly cannot believe we just wasted $75 here. We eat Indian food quite often and I cook it at home as well. Therefore, we are very familiar with the flavor profiles of the dishes and it’s not our first time having it. We have eaten at this place before, but it was years ago with a different owner. Today we ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Korma and Chicken Saag. Mango Lassi was so watered down that it was impossible to consume. All the chicken entrees were over salted and had no true authentic flavors. The rice seemed cold and stale. The roti was aslo VERY stale. The samosas were fried in old oil and the dough was extremely greasy. My kids usually looooove Indian take out and they refused to eat this. Horrible experience! We are def never ordering from this place again.
Food was very good. We enjoyed it greatly. Only problem was something was missing in the Ras milai. It was completely white with not much flavor. Usually Ras milai has some pistachios and other ingredients.
Forest Hills Indian Cuisine is a decent place for Indian lunch buffet and the decor is bright & clean.
The host was really friendly, welcoming and let you feel like dining at home. They served solid Indian food, delicious with good ingredient and updated their dishes every week. You can tell they are very honest with customers.
Our favorite dishes were fish curry and corn soup. The fish was cooked soft and tender; the corn soup was rich and creamy.
I tried this place once with a friend and I am hooked since then. I love the great vibes and flavorful food and drinks. Fantastic work.
Food is ok, but doesn't worth the price. Horrible service. I got 3 meals to eat in the car and after I left I found that he didn't give me any stencils!
