Fort William Henry Hotel & Conference Center reviews
16The website is full of inaccuracies.the breakfast was nothing compared to the pictured, instead u got cold buffet food, rubbery eggs & barely cooked sausage! We had to ask for another room as our first room had mold in the bathroom & months worth of dust on the lights along with holes in the wall! The mountainview rooms are not mountain view but view of the parking lot! The food at the Look out cafe is horrendous, I’ve had better food at a fair! The security or lack there of is concerning. All side doors that supposedly required key cards were all unlocked so that anyone can get it! Week or so before our reservation I asked if I could upgrade to a king fireplace & was told no as they were booked. My husband had to go up to the reception desk for something and was there when another guest asked for same upgrade & got it! And let’s not forgot on a Saturday of our visit we couldn’t even enjoy the bar or outdoor seating due to a wedding!
Beautiful hotel conveniently situated in the heart of Lake George. Stunning views, comfortable rooms, lovely staff. Restaurant on premises with a fun happy hour. Indoor pool (outdoor as well but closed for the season) sauna and jacuzzi. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was very helpful and quick to serve.
Easy walk to the village. Veranda, fire pit, plenty of outdoor seating. They even had cornhole games to play. Visitors also get a discount to the fort. The breakfast buffet was a great deal. A fun time was had by all in our oarty.
Nice view of the lake near the bustle of Lake George. Rooms in the motel wing are terribly outdated, noisy and overpriced not to mention not wheelchair accessible. Breakfast wait time 30-40 minutes, we went elsewhere. Dogs allowed and will wake you each morning to remind you they are. Spur of the moment trip, wish I read reviews first. This was awful. They will thank those for a 5 star review and do nothing to the still negative comments left daily.
This place really is by definition Lake George.
Biked up late fall, chose the motel area, there are those who prefer all out luxury rooms in the Tower Building, but the quaint, simple charm and a balcony Lakeview room is easy is like custom tailored. Staff makes you feel like a VIP on a blue collar budget.
Absolutely wonderful 2 night stay here! They have several packages you can add to your room that just takes the little worries of planning off your plate. They have a full breakfast buffet you can add on, a tavern on site and the staff goes out of their way to meet your every need. The views are beautiful and it's in walking distance to the village.
Outstanding location on Lake George. Accommodations food and service very good. And it is across the street from one of my favorite brew pubs. It's close to everything in the southern portion of the lake.
Caught a few orbs on camera during the Ghost Tour! This orb appeared under the stairs while the tour guide was telling us about the spirit that 'lives' under the stairs.
Perfect place for a family vacation. Location of the hotel is awesome. Staffs are very friendly and the food in restaurants are too good.
We stayed in room 204 and it was a miserable experience, to say the least. The paint was peeling in the shower and the a/c "fan" was so loud we couldn't sleep. My husband complained to the front desk about the poor room condition but was told that's what we get for the economy price $230 a night.
The room was dirty it had dust everywhere I had to go and get another room and that room was not worth $ 200.00 per night. The room was worth $ 70.00 tops. I will never stay again and if anyone asks this is not the place to stay.
They overprice a completely outdated motel that they have next to the main building, that they call “lodge”. It’s the most horrible motel I’ve never been. The shower doesn’t drain, the carpet has stains, the building looks worse than the $45 night hotel in a little town of anywhere. No Happy with the room rate, they charge you $50 spa fee per night which is absolutely an abusive charge for what they offer.
The view was very nice, but the room needed to be desperately updated. The bathroom fan was broke and the ceiling half painted.
The breakfast buffet was terrible. The food was cold, potatoes over salted, sausage not cooked. When we asked the waitress to bring us hot waffles, they came back 10 min later with one waffle on a saucer, lilk warm at best. When I told the front desk the best they could do was say sorry. I won't be back.
Great establishment. Loved the rooms. Hot tub! Excellent food. If you don't get the package with breakfast included, it can get pricey. Beautiful view. I'll be back.
I have been to this Hotel for the last 15 years for the Adirondack Nationals and have NEVER been disappointed.
I only visit the gift shop due to the admission fee is $19.so I 'he been so many Fort, I really did not see the difference.
Fantastic views of the lake, great breakfast buffet. Very pricey for a room that is extremely dated. Shower didn't drain, stains on carpet.overall other than beautiful grounds and amenities not the nicest place we have stayed
