Gluten-Free Restaurant Friedman's reviews
22 Great place!
The long line was managed with respect and kindness. We got seats at the bar and our Bartender was amazing. She made our meal worth the wait.
Good food, fair prices, great vibe.
A truly awful experience. With our cappuccinos (decent enough) we ordered a pair of BLT’s—bacon, lettuce and tomato, one of the classic American sandwiches. Friedman’s makes a B. E. L. T—bacon, EGG, lettuce and tomato—and with some effort we managed to make our server understand “hold the egg. ” The kitchen was apparently unhinged by our request. What we got were two “sort-of BLT’s” on perfectly toasted sourdough but short of basic ingredients. On one side of each sandwich there was lettuce, a rather skimpy slice of tomato and two fragments of bacon about 2” long, not “thick cut” as promised. On the other side there was nothing except lettuce. For this we were charged $14 apiece. Frankly I’d have send the stuff back to the kitchen and left—but I felt constrained from embarrassing my host, who was, in any event, a foreigner who knew not what to expect. In fairness, after my host went off in his cab, I complained to the staff and was offered a refund without question, but as the charge was on the host’s card, I had to refuse. But they did make the offer sincerely.
The food is really always delicious each time I’ve gone. Be greedy like me and order the 3 piece w/Mac & cheese and those ridiculously tasty Yuka fries, to go - after you’ve enjoyed the salmon there!
Mixed experience at breakfast on a busy Sunday morning. My wife's French toast with berry compote was perfectly prepared and her side if bacon was crispy. She enjoyed her meal very much.
My pancake order, on the other hand, was a disappointment. Advertised as 'buttermilk pancakes with caramelized apples and apple cinnamon compote', my plate arrived with three dry pancakes topped with chopped apples that were not 'caramelized' in any sense of the word - in fact, they were clearly dumped uncooked from a can. And there was no compote served at all - when I advised my server and asked to get the missing compite, she insisted that the sad uncooked apples *were* the correct and only topping. My side of bacon was also soggy. She did bring extra syrup but that did little to make up for the missing topping.
The restaurant has a nice ambiance, with indoor and outdoor seating offered. The lunch and dinner menu looks promising (another diner had the chicken and waffles which looked great). It's just frustrating when food quality varies from diner to diner.
Loved it here! Food was delicious, ambiance was great, music even better and the service so good! We had no reservation and they were able to sit us pretty fast and they were packed! The quality of the food was so good and really enjoyed it. Really great experience.
Excellent restaurant with a touch of breakfast to it.
Nice and cozy interior that invites to a great time with friends.
Be sure to order a bottle of prosecco to start of the day in the company of good friend.
The food is well done with good flavors.
Highly recommend this place.
Best eggs and hash brown I've ever had. The staff were kind. The food was a bit expensive, but you're paying for quality.
You can never go wrong with Friedman's. This is one of the restaurants that can dominate every dish they serve to perfection. That's why they don't have a 1.000 items on the menu.
Perfect for lunch, dinner or just some appetizers + drinks.
Delicious. I got the fried chicken and waffles (it is boned) with the mango habanero syrup. Loved it app.
I've been in this part on Manhattan for a few days and this is by far the best breakfast place I've seen. Everything is tasty and of very high quality: avocado toast, steak and eggs. Thumbs up!
Delicious everything! Went for great breakfast and coffee. Wonderful service. Would definitely recommend!
Great food but expect a wait. The BELT sandwich was delicious and their eggs are fluffy. A little pricey and portions are sharing size in my opinion.
Good coffee, yummy bacon, eggs cooked perfectly. Love the ambiance and service friendly and fast.
This is a great place to go for Brunch. Be prepared for a long wait but it's well worth it. Their coffee is tasty! I highly recommend the Huevos Rancheros. Also definitely try their jelly butter (they mix the jelly and butter together to make a delicious spread).
Great experience albeit should have booked to save the wait for a table. Really impressed with your customer care and service. Even witnessed a customer who had left a lot if food being given the sandwich wrapped up and asked to give the food to someone who needs it, vey ethical.
Great service, coffee and food. Had the pastrami hash which came with an interesting berry butter.yum
The special was half rack of ribs with black cherry dry rub with buttermilk coleslaw and ribbon fries. Service was fast and the meal was delicious!
Delicious food but extremely long wait for it. We had ordered a fruit salad which could have tied is over during the wait but they brought it with everything else.
Had a really nice brunch
Full bar
The chilaqiles were very good
Looking forward to trying other items on an impressive menu.
Good service and good food. Good beer/ drink selection. Really enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip with chips. If you get the fruit crumble it's big enough to share
