Friedman's Herald Square reviews
12We came for breakfast and we had immediately a table. The food came fast but in my it was not hot enough. Also it was lacking seasoning. Luckily there was salt and pepper so we could spice it up. Had the pancakes to finish and there were almost no berries on top of it. The taste of the pancakes itself topped with whipped cream was good though.
A wonderful location, well situated near Madison Square Garden, offers a broad menu of flavorfull good food. Menu items may satisfy many taste. A comfortable setting; a bit loud when crowded, bright and open. We had attentive and responsive service; receiving our hot meal in a reasonable time.
The food was excellent. Our waitress was phenomenal. The Hosts were on some power trip. I know it's Manhattan but it's not a Michelin Star restaurant.
It was the typical bustling city vibe, super busy. But I ordered a custom omelette to-go and waited no more than 10 minutes. I was asked if I needed anything by four different staff members while I waited — superb customer service!
My favorite gluten free restaurant in the city! They are very aware of gluten intolerance and celiac disease. I recommended the Reuben or the salmon salad, so yummy.
Lemon ricotta pancakes were memorable, Nova Benny delicious, and brunch with old friends.priceless
Food is decent the maitre d was extremely rude. The place seems to be have been a good one at one time and now they have added an another section which looks like a cheap dentists office. Completely out of place.
So mediocre in quality and SO EXPENSIVE for what it is! Should be more competition around Penn Station area.
Won’t seat incomplete tables, so turn up together. When we sat down, it took them 30 mins to take the coffee order, which clearly the host was too good to take. Food was superb and worth the wait and poor service.
100% recommend!
I'm coeliac (can't eat gluten) and i was a bit desperate because i couldn't eat anything in my hotel or near. But i went to friedman and took a takaway.
It was the best idea ever!
Their french toast gluten-free are so good.
I will definitely go there again!
And they were super nice in the restaurant too.
If u're looking for gluten-free breakfast go there:)
Friedman’s came highly recommended to me but I have to say it was nothing special. Lack of choices on the menu, they open their doors at precisely 08: 30 hours like 5 minutes here or there would make such a big difference. Let the customers in a couple of minutes earlier to be able to sit down and peruse the menu while they get ready, no? ! Plus, I didn’t like the fact that they tell you exactly where you need to sit. Not by taking you to your table like most places but just by someone at the door pointing at the table and telling you to sit there. Why not let people choose their own table? Yes, there are limited tables but as adults I think we can logically choose our own table. It just seemed a bit weird and petty. Sorry but I can’t recommend this place solely for the atmosphere and the food wasn’t that great.
