Friends of the Roc City Skatepark reviews
15Just this year they painted a beautiful mural down at the skatepark. That mural has been spray painted over with names on it, they call it tagging. It's a shame that you can't have something nice and as beautiful as that painting that was up there desecrated by these people that want to deface things. A lot of work went into that mural and the people that painted it should be recognized for that work. The people that deface things like that should be forced to correct the problem by either cleaning off what they put on, or put them in jail. Oh wait we can't do that anymore either, we have bail reform. I'm saddened by what happened down there and that's the reason why I gave it only two stars.
Rochester. It's not the perfect park, but it's got good intentions and it's in a great location.
Huge stairs at a skatepark are weird, maybe built for bikes? Biggest complaint is that it flows downhill to the under bridge section and some of the small quarter pipes are worthless.
Overall, a great addition to the city and met a friendly kid named Sam that gave me knowledge on the history of skate and BMX in Rochester.
It's a city reinventing itself and I recommend it as a traveller.
Great free skatepark for everyone. Well built and maintained. I'd suggest parking on court street by Dinosaur BBQ and walking the path in.
Fun for all ages and skater, roller skater, trick scooter and bmx friendly park. They close at 9pm
Awesome skate park! It has been busy ever since it opened. I would recommend going to check it out even if you don't skate.
Wow! What an amazing skate park in the heart of Rochester next to the river walk and beautiful cityscapes. Our grandchildren love waterfalls, so we started our treck at the Court Street bridge near Dinosaurs Barbeque so we could view the falls created by the Court St dam on the Genesee river.
As we walked on the river walk south we found the Roc City Skatepark. First of all, this is not your average rec center skatepark, it is large, steep and has various levels of difficulty. The side walls are so steep, deep and smooth that my grandkids decided to use it as slide park as no skaters were using it when we fist arrived. See photos.
Although I was kind of an early adopter of skate board fun back in the 60s, we had no skateparks, so I appreciate how the city of Rochester created such an well crafted park in the heart of the city.
If you skate board or just want a nice river walk with the entertainment of the talented and dedicated skate board athletes, check it out!
The deep end alone is worth it. Parking is a little weird. We parked in the spectrum visitors lot with no worries.
Great midsized park with street vert and bowl sections
Locals are friendly, more younger kids during the day, but come 6: 30 or so the average age is probably 20 or so.
The cement is clean smooth and fresh, no cracks or crevices, and there are a few interesting features including the two level shamrock bowl, and the under the overpass 1/4 pipe
This place is sick. Love the clean roll of the concrete. I just wish they had 1-2 lower boxes.
Very fun place to come to to ride your bike, skateboard or scooter and everyone's very friendly! HIGHLY suggested!
Really Cool watching all types of roller skaters and skateboarders displaying their SKILL SET.
Came and visited from Michigan this weekend and this park is amazing. The designers and engineers behind the production did a fantastic job. Theres plenty of space to incorporate everyone and the vibe is absolutely chill and mellow. Shout out to the family at Krudco who I know keep up and maintain the park amazingly and help the community grow. Haven't had a chance to meet any of them in person yet but I see what they are doing for their local community and that's more important than the park itself. Rochester has something to look forward to.
Great park, tons of people in your way though. Find out what time it's at it's lowest capacity or else it's crash city lol.
I just started skating like yesterday so the trail is also a good spot to practice if your not comfortable on the ramps and stuff
Opening day was PACKED with people. Mostly skaters, some BMX and a few scooter riders. The park itself is separated into three sections kind of. Theres the technical rail side where the stair set it and a few rails, then there's a gigantic multidepth pool. The deep ends gotta be 10ft at least. Then down almost under the overpass is the street section. There's a 6ft quarter facing a nice mellow rail and some ledges. This is where the scooter kids mostly were.
