Frost Valley YMCA reviews
12Frost valley is a awesome adventure for kids nestled in the catskill mountains and is now just getting ready to open for 2022 camp season
I love this camp still bring back SO MUCH child hood memories an til this day I still remember my cheers for Forest an Polkatodia
Amazing spot. Been coming here with students on a class trip for many years. It never disappoints!
I went on a trip with my Vaughn college and this was honestly one of the memories I'll cherish. Our guides Fatima and Jackson (sorry if I misspelled the names) had made our stay wonderful I had my first s'mores with them and we felt welcomed. I would recommend this place and guides 1000%:)
Great trip wonderful places to hike climp zip line bridge crossing your shoud go and see for yourself.if you like adventure and nature stop on bye.
Super fun when not going with school. Plenty of things to do. Only complaint is that the food is not that good and when I went with school we saw. "snake an" who was not respecting the reptiles and picked a tortoise up by its shell and stuck his hand in its face. He then pushed the turtles head into the shell while having volunteers hold its feet. Also we were sent on. A compass hike with no guide and sent into the forest where groups of children got lost. And one group got hurt and had to separate to get help another group hit a wasps nest
Horrible food! Staff were unfriendly! Beds were very uncomfortable! This place has gone down hill! Save your money and go somewhere else!
The room I was placed in was messy, and very unorganized. There was no wifi provided and the excuse given was “Someone changed the password” nor was there service. The beds was hard as a rock, my back was hurting as soon as I woke up.the food was horrible. And not to mention, we’re only allowed to wash our clothes once a week? ! Disgusting. I advise anyone from the city don’t go up there, I’m from Brooklyn and I made a HUGE mistake going up there. Also, if y’all want people to work there at least help them get up there if they live far away.
I come here every summer for sleep away camp. Its THE BEST! I love it here so much. Every body is super friendly, especially the counselors. I’ve also made some of my best friends here. Fun fact: I see one friend I met in 2017 every week now! At frost valley main camp We do super fun activities every day and there is a lot of ice cream eating! I’m not complaining though:)
The food is okay and sometimes good in my opinion but it’s not 5 star dining obviously. Most of the cabins are very nice and they are not too small. I love wearing frost valley clothing too! It’s basically the only written thing I don’t mind having on a shirt.
One thing I really love about frost valley though is that every one is accepting of who you are no matter who you are and they support you. ️
PS I did family camp for the first time this year because I just needed to be at frost valley this summer since main camp was canceled due to COVID-19.it was fun.there were a few mice in the cabin bathroom though. Country mice tend to be cleaner than city mice so I didn’t mind! They did go through my friends toiletries and chewed up her lip balm though.
Fantastic! Gorgeous time of the year to come. October Columbus weekend. We stayed in a 10 sleeper cabin. Very well heated! Bunk bed mattress could be softer so bring more bedding if you need. Staff delivered meals to cabin. Meals were delicious and vegan options were excellent! Not going to dining hall was ideal so we could save time, change and continue activities!
Frost Valley is my favorite place on Earth. The hiking is great and the lodges are beautiful! The food is good and the people are even better.
The first time was cooler than I expected, though the second time was hotter and more heated than before
