I recently decided it was time to update the living room/dining room combination in my home but was at a loss for how to approach the project. I had heard so many wonderful things over the years about Gables New York and went to their beautiful gallery for direction and advice. What a warm and professional staff!

Jody and Linda helped me choose a lovely fabric to reupholster my two sofas with a fabulous coordinating fabric for the pillows. Jody selected beautiful blinds for my windows along with a gorgeous fabric for the cornices and dining room chairs to be reupholstered! Jim came to my home and meticulously measured and installed window treatments and offered suggestions for lamps and lighting fixtures. Jody even helped me choose my carpet and selected the perfect color paint to tie the entire room together. Susan kept me calm throughout the process when I was feeling overwhelmed and kept me informed on the progress of my order along the way. What an impressive team!

As I sit here now on my completely rebuilt and reupholstered sofa and look around this custom room, it’s hard to believe that this is my home. I could not be more pleased with the quality of the work, and I can’t say enough about this positive experience. I don’t know which room I’m updating next but without a doubt - I’m going to Gables!

I needed new blinds for my home as I decided to do some major renovations and wanted to make sure we make a “smart home” Hunter Douglas came up on my search for new and innovative blinds. And I could not have made a better choice! I chose for my front house windows, the Duolite. Which is 2 in 1 Shades. Silhouette shade with light filtering and then blackout room shades for the night. The perfect balance. And I have Duette for my Sky Lights. I walked into the main store on New Dorp Lane, already having done some internet research. As soon as I walked in, I received a warm welcome and treated whole heartedly as if I was already part of their family! Everyone was beyond helpful and excited to show the innovations of wireless control of the blinds, which is what attracted me to this company initially. I have been working with Jody Hall and Jim and they have been amazing! They came to my home and measured every window and sat down to discuss the various options that I had. And then they came to do my installation, it was quick and easy. They explained all the functionality and also help set up all the wifi controls. As a company, they have been apt to respond to any of my inquiries. They put you as a customer first. I am very happy with my shades and plan to continue to use they again for other areas of my house as my renovations continue. Deciding to use Hunter Douglas is the smartest decision you can make!

Beyond satisfied with my experience at Gables. Judy, Jim and staff were a pleasure to work with. Very knowledgeable and helpful. The Vignette shade is a perfect addition to my bedroom. The staff at gables were very helpful when picking out fabric for my dining room chairs. They knew exactly what I wanted and needed to match the decor in my house. The chairs are absolutely gorgeous. Working with Jody and Jim from Gables was a truly, wonderful experience. Not only are they knowledgeable about their products and services, they are thoughtful, responsive, gave us an outstanding price, and demonstrate what true customer service should be! They really took their time to explain all of our options (all of which were beautiful and quality product) as well as walk through the timeline from picking the right product, the measuring, the ordering, and the timeline to install. The install was seamless and the silhouettes fit perfectly. Jim even programmed our PowerView and created Scenes for all of the blinds so we didn't have to attempt to do so on our own. I recently updated my kitchen window with a cornice designed by Jody, whose trained eye for color, texture, and fabric coordination provided me with a beautiful window treatment that gave my kitchen the lift it needed.
Pleased with Gables, I went back and ordered HunterDouglas Silhouette shades for my dining room. These were meticulously and expertly installed by Jim, who also removed all remnants of the former window treatment that I had replaced.
In this day and age, where quality and workmanship are questionable, Gables is the place to go to for complete satisfaction!

My Husband and I recently renovated our living room and dining room and wanted to completely change the look of our windows. Based on the many positive reviews we read about Jodi and Jim, in addition to their years of experience, we were sold. From the minute we walked into their showroom the experience was pleasant. Their assistant was informative and very helpful. She took the time to explain all about the different products and the costs of each product. Jodi walked in and immediately introduced herself and was very willing to jump right in and help us with our project. She helped us make beautiful choices in the perfect color scheme for our room, and was even able to save us money in the process which was a really nice surprise! We were given a time frame, and due to all the supply chain issues during covid we were really not concerned and did not want to bother Jodi and Jim, we knew when our treatments came in they would be in touch. They actually arrived within the time we were told and Jim and his assistant had them installed within a half hour. No mess and they fit perfectly! Jodi was not at the house for the install but took the time out of her busy schedule to call us to make sure we were happy with the finished product. They really make you feel like family. I would absolutely recommend Gables New York. You will be amazed and completely satisfied!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience working with Gables! Jody and her husband Jim are the quintessential business owners. The showroom on New Dorp Lane is beautiful, with a countless selection of products to choose from and everything is super organized. Very easy to find the perfect window treatment. Plus, they show up when they say (always on time) and are extremely pro-active in keeping you informed every step of the way. I must also mention the staff at Gables too. They are so friendly and knowledgeable.
When Jody came to do the first measurement, she brought tons of samples and helped pick the perfect shade combo. She was so patient. I never felt rushed for a second and her input was invaluable. She even gave us some decorating ideas. She really knows her stuff!
When I received the written estimate (exactly when Jody said she would have it) it was laid out with several product choices and price points. They weren't just trying to sell you the most expensive product. I also appreciated how honest they were in giving me a real time estimate for how long the shades might take to come in, which I found to be so reasonable, considering that we've been in a pandemic for over 18 months.
I can understand now why Gables receives such rave reviews across the board and has been in business for so long. They are simply put "the best in their field". I wholeheartedly recommend them! You will not be disappointed!

I have ordered blinds in the middle of August 2021 and was promised to get it installed in 4 weeks. However at the end of October I did not get anything. And they do not provide any information when my order will be ready. Do not do business with Gables. Go to reliable companies.

This is the second time I used Gables. The first time they designed two cornices for me. They are beautiful. This time I got a pirouette shade and wood blinds. Colors go very well with room. They change the whole look of room. Jodi and Jim are very good at design and color and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Gables New York.
